Animation Quality

I want to ask a question about the animation quality in Illusion games, specifically Honey Select animations. How do you recognize if the animations of a game made using Honey Select are good? When it's made with DAZ3D or Blender or something like that, the difference is obvious, but I have a hard time understanding the quality of animations in Illusion games.

I'm gathering information for the day when I can make my own game. I'm looking at reviews of games made with Honey Select. In some games, the animations are praised, while in others, they are criticized, but to me, they all seem the same.

Can you recommend a few games with high-quality animations? I've already played Eternum. Or what makes an animation good? Is it about creating your own animations rather than using pre-made ones?

And what makes an animation bad? If I don’t create my own animations and just use the default ones that come with the game, does that mean the animations in my game will be considered bad?

This stands out to me as one of the best, and compared to some other games I can think of with non-HS animations (Milfy City, Fashion Business), it beats them bloody in terms of quality and especially quantity (a few janky short loops dispersed throughout the game vs. almost the entire game being animated). Admittedly, those are older and I don't play a lot of animated 3D.

I don't think the default animations are bad. but again, for me to call an animation good, it needs to be overhauled. if you've played eternum, you've already seen the best examples. other than that, I don't need to recommend a game.

I don't think I've heard people say the default animations are bad. Just that they've seen them too many times before. For animations in Illusion games, there's two things to learn. Node constraints, and timeline. Neither of which I'm qualified to give a tutorial on because I'm absolute shit at explaining things :ROFLMAO:

i've seen illusion games a few times before where the reviews said the animations were bad. maybe they tried to do it themselves and messed it up, i don't know. still, if the default animations aren't seen as bad, that's good.

If you use the stock animations, it's an instant pass. Just like you said, they all seem the same, so you can relate that to boring, especially in this case, as the animations are pretty meh in this case.

Imo, a good animation involves cheeks getting clapped. Having good jiggles is the foundation of a good animation for me. I don't care how good your lighting is, or if it looks better than a AAA game; if her cheeks are not getting clapped and jiggled, I look elsewhere. This is something that lacks with the stock animations, but is absolutely possible if you take the time to learn. This is just me, though.

Are you making the game for what you want, or what others want? Honestly, you can use the vanilla animations, and people will still support your work. There are numerous things that can be considered as bad animating, but what really stands out the most for me; messing up on simple things like hair direction/physics and obnoxious body clipping.

Your game won't be considered bad, but it might be what people consider mid
