VN - Others - Completed - Another Way of Gettin' Paid [v1.0] [PacoPaco Soft]

Story's pretty meh for a linear VN, but the characters are varied and interesting enough. The sex scene art is good, but very static usually with only 1-2 images per scene with 2-3 varients per image.
Prostitution in the game related solely to the fact that everyone involved is sugar dating, there's no external sexual activities.

- Story:
Very blunt and linear. Not much is going on at all here, if i have to rate it i would give it 3 out of 10 on a generous day. You jump straight out onto the first sex scene, as the explanation who you are and how you end up with that hottie comes up afterward in some brief explanation.
As you wandering the streets, you stumble on a young girl arguing with her sugar daddy, because it seemed he didn't paid enough for her yet. By helping her get rid of him, you actually become her new one. You will quickly get introduced to the other two girls afterward and it's how the things go on.
There's no choices to make in the game whatsoever. Not only that, but there's not even a choices for in/out ejaculations.

- Voice acting/ text:
These overall saved the game for me, and it wasn't a quick alt-f4 from the beginning. Voice actresses suit very well the heroines and their temperament.
The brunette schoolgirl was especially well done, from her voice acting depicting her shy nature to her writing and modesty. She was the onliest aspect of the game that felt realistic and natural, and truly enjoyable, instead of rushed as everything and everyone else.
The text itself was alright. Big part of the text, especially in the sex scenes is 3rd party, as if discribing the situation, instead of heroine/MC speech. And thank god, because the MC was such a stupid, lame and humorless bastard, i'm glad i had to read less of his nonsense.

"Another way of getting paid" is not a smart or complex VN, but it's one that verses on the subject of "sexual freedom" (broadly speaking), by means of compensated dating (Papa Katsu, ママ活?). You don't need to worry about anything getting in the way of your porn (plenty of 18+), but the idea here is to reverse some roles, and present sex as something that is natural, and feels good (not translating to love as we often understand it, in short). With this in mind, the experience feels like a breath of fresh air when thinking adult (sexual) short VN, but there's still no story to be found, outside one (predictable) plot device, and a flashback.

Positive:
- Reversal of roles. The protagonist has a sugar momma, gets paid for providing "company" (he's also a sugar daddy, and the VN keeps reminding you that money is "circulating" after sex); A ton of H-scenes when considering duration (30), basic tags are covered, serviceable quality; The title tries to remove some weight, and expectations from having sex, or finding a partner (should be universal, but the novelty comes from breaking perceived morals in Japan); Thressomes, Oyakodon, and Harem*** never hurt anybody in fiction; And at the end day, this a VN about a different side in the world of prostitution (and that's rare).

Negative:
- It's mostly the writing - Conventional characters, almost no story, setting is limited, and more; In terms of production values, this is above some infamous devs, and their discount VNs, hence the score.

Score: 7/10. Nice read all things considered, entertaining. I doubt they were trying to go much further than some nice fantasy, but they end up weaving some notions which seem out of place given source. That's a good thing. In terms of adult content, this works and you get enough value. Recommended, if the synopsis catches your attention.
