Anybody ever thought of using Sims 3 or 4 for a visual novel?

I know one visual novel exists created using the Sims 4, but I'm surprised nobody else has explored this for adult VN.

There is nearly over 60k adult animations now, with more being develoed and huge library of poses between the Sims 3 (which you can make look super realistic with mods) or the sims 4 which has a more cartoon look.

Not only can you create new custom characters and settings on the fly but there is so much custom content available you could literally tell any story you wanted without having to build it all from scratch in blender.

However I suspect there is some pitfalls to this - first it will look very much like a visual novel using Sims assets. So if you don't like the Sims look/appearance it will turn you off playing it.

Second I suspect taking those primary photo stills for each character and their expressions would be a pain to do. you'd have to create a white backdrop then make sure you take each screen capture in the EXACT same position - so that each character appears the same height, ect. Although I suspect you could fix this by placing marks for the characters to stand on and line up the camera.

Those being the two biggest issues I can think off...

Thoughts?

I doubt we will see any made, but honestly it just seems like such a wealth of content to use on the fly.

You can extract assets from The Sims games and use them in Blender.

With the right mods you can create basically any scene you want in Sims 4, especially when it comes to sex scenes. Simply get the mods and take screenshots. It feels like cheating however and EA wont be happy if you use their game to create porn VNs.

I thought about it. When I was trying to get serious with my game and finally accepted the fact that learning to draw from scratch would frustrate me and that my pc isn't able to hand DAZ3D as I wish, I was looking for other posibilities before giving up on the idea. I found that one game made with Sims 4 in that moment and I thought it could be THE solution I was looking for (I wasn't crazy about it but I thought it could do his job) but a few days later I found a game called A Boring Day made in Koikatu and I found my one true love to do this project.

I never played that game, the preview images didn't catch my attention to be honest but I don't know if I should blame The Sims or the dev for that. In any case I do think that it could be a good art engine for this kind of games. Maybe EA wont be happy as Ataios said so that could be something to have in mind.

Yeah I don't know. EA is gonna be a bitch about it if they ever caught wind of what you are doing with their IP. With ILLUSION games, they're overseas with less money and a language barrier so it's easier to skirt by using Honey Select and Koikatu. EA will have the money and the willingness to breathe down your throat if it ever gets reported to them.

I doubt it. Everyone thought the same about TurboDriver when he made a Patreon and started charging for the sex mod he made for the game, Wicked Whims. EA and the sims dev team are well aware of what him and everyone whose making sex animations are doing. Heck, they even referenced the WW in one of the game packs.

If anyone would lose their mind about having their content in a VN of the 18+ kind, it would be the custom content creators of the clothing, houses, makeup, etc especially if they aren’t properly credited. Even then, it's not like they can do anything about it since EA’s terms are spotty against people claiming/suing for things, they made for a game that they don’t legally own the rights to. It's essentially free reign as long as you know what you're doing.

The shading and textures aren't that great but I would like to see more games using The Sims for the variety.
