VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Apocalypse Mutant 2 [v1.0] [Pent Panda]

I have to say, this is the most entertaining game I have played in a very long time. It has it all, harem, superpowers, mutants, cannibals, radiation, zombies, lesbian sex, masturbation, straight sex... everything (none of those pandering foot jobs or hand jobs thank goodness). I laughed at a lot of the humor as well. Very well written and the MCs were both likable and more importantly, relatable. If I had a complaint (and it's a minor one) it was that some of the animations were a bit effected by motion blur. Other than that, 5 stars all the way. Definitely my favorite by this Dev. Well done!

This is a unique take on apocalyptic world which also be compare to x-men. The story is very enjoyable and light hearted. This game also has some small challenges that I liked. Overall, loved the game, if you can take the bad model quality then give it a try.

Good game all around, all the fields are checked. Light comedy and a token amount of gore.
Very nice girls, it could have pushed more on the mutant side, only Tess has an appearence different from baseline humans, but not a big deal.
Recommended, it got me hooked up and I had to finish it.

Pent Panda is really a great writer. They know how to create fun and wholesome stories with plenty of fun and original sex scenes.
Apocalypse Mutant 2 takes place in a dark and desperate world, but Pent Panda manages to fill it to the brim with so many spicy and funny situations that you'll want to live there.
In terms of graphics, of course AM2 doesn't have the best models you'll find on this site, but Pent Panda has mastered the art of posing to the point you'll soon forget that you're watching a 3D GFX game.

Wow the story and characters are awful.

Choices are also fitting to the awfulness in typical fashion with a bit more of the "bad ends/results" ->
(Ie sex or kill/not sex but later game acts like you did/bad result)

Could not stomach getting all too far into it as the story was more convient and simple then any zombie film I ever seen almost
(which is a pitty his female zombie teen in cabin is good imo so was hoping he learned after 1st bad 1 of this and made this a major improvment, does not seem to be the case imo, least the major part).

Looks ok enough and animation style is still fine enough.. but really better out there.

After I completed The Flat Lust Project and Apocalypse Mutant 2, Pent Panda now becomes one of my favorite adult game devs of all. Although the technical render quality of his games and those two-image animations are rather unimpressive, the lovely character models and awesome scene setup made up for it and resulted in some very enjoyable cinematic storytelling.
Speaking of storytelling, I absolutely love how these stories are structured and themed. These stories are funny, relaxing and heartwarming, while absorbing and easily getting people attached. The characters value open minds and a lifestyle of freedom and joy. Btw the sense of humor in these games is priceless. I love it.
Oh and one more thing: it seems Pent Panda is one of those extremely rare developers who still insist on releasing completed games (with reasonable length) instead of milking money with WIP games. It's unbelievable such developers still exist. Please do consider supporting him.

Some noteworthy stuff:
- Note that there are a lot of choices but none of them really created any story branching in this game, only some variants that don't affect the main plotline. But the author actually took a lot of effort writing different dialogues later in the plotline in correspondence to these variants to preserve and improve the immersion. This is some quite impressive work.
- Apparently Pent Panda excels in writing hilarious and heartwarming stories and dialogues, but not so much in creating serious and heavy stuff. Delivering sorrow, sadness and hardships are not his strong suit despite his attempts here and there. The main characters in Apocalypse Mutant 2 start off living some dreadful lives, but quickly turned into some characters controlled by MMORPG players.
Alas, lighthearted stories are always welcome by me as long as they are actually well told and don't feel like written by some immature kid (at least half of the VNs in this site feel this way to me).
Truly enjoyed this piece.

A entertaining game from start to finish. Plus one of the few not abandoned by the developer before completing. All the characters each have their own personalities and are played out. Female protag. is not the entire game but it does not matter since the male or female are all tied together. All scenes are avoidable so noting is forced. It does include two light rape/not given permission and many other close calls. Five stars easy

TL;DR: Fun after the apocalypse. WIthout the goofy humor it'd be 3-star, but the writing is good. Some violence, but not too much. Good sex, good fun.

Apocalypse Mutant 2 - Graphics aren't spectacular, but I liked them, especially some of the character designs.
Animations are a bit tedious at first, but once you get into them, not bad. They are not repeating loops, but ongoing sequences of images with transitions. Rolling back brings you to the beginning of the sequence. But - as I said - once you get used to it, they are good. Not great, but good.
It's a post apocalyptic scenario, so there is some violence against bad people and nukers (radiation zombies of a kind), but it's not a gorefest, and it's not jump-scary horror either. Actually it's quite goofy. Good humor, good sex, nice writing. Not shakespearean levels, but fun.

Story is about some mutants who find each other during the first hour and travel together. I'm not going to tell you their powers, because it's actually nicely embedded in the story.
At one point I even got a bit mad at the author, but turned out I fell right into their writing trap. Hats off!
Story has some options, but is linear over a course of several days. Often wrong decisions lead to a "you did that, it failed, you all die", just better worded, but thanks to Ren'Py rollback that's no problem at all.

Apocalypse Mutant 2 [v1.0] review

What it is: Post-apocalyptic-Action-Harem-VN with superpowered hot chicks. And banging. And drugs.
There's a few brain teaser minigames blocking progress. It's got 3 major endings with a dozen or so love interests to choose from. Many hours of amazing content.

3 words: Holy. Motherfucking. Shitballs!

A genius wrote and coded this. That's no lie.

The writing in this game is, save for some spelling errors, maybe the best I've ever seen in the lewd gaming genre. And I don't say this lightly. Go check my other 100 + reviews on here before you go calling me a liar.
It gave me fucking chills man, it's so good. I can't think of another project that just left me speechless like this.

Granted, I'm a huge sucker for good writing in my lewd games so expect this review to be biased.

Came for a fap, stayed for the laughs and the fucking feels.

In short:
+ Extremely wholesome and satisfying endings. This is how you fucking go out in style! So few devs understand the value of ending a project on a high note. Mad respect to this dev for delivering a complete start-to-finish package, completely outta nowhere. This project right here is the exact fucking opposite of "milking patreons". R e s p e c t.
+ Cocky & funny MC, with goofy and corny tendencies. The hardest style of MC to write and pull off! Delivered to perfection!!! The electrocution scene had me in tears. Amazing stuff!
+ Interesting & unique love interests with their own thoughts, wants and needs. And they interact with each other, not just the MC! With character development!
+ There's never a dull moment. This is a 198-layer cake of action, hot sex, drama, comedy, blood and gore in perfect proportions and you never know what the next layer is going to be, just that it's all fucking delicious!
+ Sex while tripping balls. 'Nuff said
+ Like a good meal this game leavs a lasting, satisfying feeling deep in my tummy when it's done. Yea make that a cumshot reference if you want, I don't care, I'm still high from second-hand-balls-tripping.
+ And just when you think the game is done, everything has been said and done, everyone is happy and spent, it rolls you over and gently but firmly creampies you three more times, and then kisses you deep and lovingly. That's how you fuck to leave a lasting impression, man.

Jesus christ. An actual fucking fully competent screen writer making lewd games! Oh how I've looked for you!

Ok, so with the dicksucking out of the way, lets talk about where I feel there's room for improvement:

- Animations. There's none. There's this quasi-animated slideshow going on but it feels kinda blurry and it's nothing like the real thing.

- The lighting could be a lot better. Many scenes are too dark. Dark scenes need a light source close to the action. Flashlight, headlights, a candle, et c. It's definitely possible to deliver a dark grimy atmosphere where everything isn't some shade of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion style brownish grey.

- Maaaybe just maybe the game sucks its' own dick a little too much with the final "recap". A gallery function is enough, there's noo need to make the entire game a flashback.

So, art: [3.5/5], writing: [12/5], sound: [3.5/5], with my radioactive-gorilla-math that rounds nicely to a [5/5]. Yeah.

Well, i cannot say much, to not spoil the game.
All i can say is that i discovered this game by accident, tried it without having much expectations, just to pass the time, and i found myself playing all the night, i spent my time laughing and enjoying every moment of it, to the point where i completely forgot that i was playing a sex game, it is so much more than that.
This game is a very nice surprise, it is one of the best experiences i had with Ren'py VN porn games, and it deserves the 5 stars i give it, and hope to see a sequel.
I recommend it to all people that like story with humor, adventure, a little bit of reflection, and some hot scenes, lets not forget that.

This game is super funny and crazy and cute. Great surprise, was not expecting such a masterpiece. Love all the characters, 5 stars all around. Had to look through all the endings and I'm still not sure which is the best way to go.

Just finished the game and I must say, this is the apocalypse done right. It has been the most fun I had with a game from this site in a long time. I got to experience several of its endings and I will most definitely replay it many times over. It is so good that shortly after starting it I already knew I had to purchase the game.

I'm reviewing the complete game. Story is really well-written, fast paced but also progressing naturally. The developer managed to find a very good tone for the story they wanted to tell, with a great sense of humor and adventure. Of course the game never takes itself too seriously, but the story was engaging and well told.

The game is a bit on the short side, mostly because it's so good you want to see more of it. It would be great if there was a bit more of world-building and if some of the "quests" were expanded. However, the developer still did an excellent job within the limits he chose, and it's certainly much better to have a finished game that prioritizes quality over quantity than an unfinished epic.

Another thing that really shines in this game are the characters themselves. MC is pretty decently written and designed, something which already makes this game better the vast majority of this type of games.

Girls are very sexy and have engaging personalities, and I really liked that the author was able to write them to be more than eye candy. Of course, some of the female characters are more developed than others, but that's OK. I'd love to know more about all of them, see more detailed backstories and a few more character moments, but they are already amazing as they are.

To my liking, this dev certainly knows how to write hot sex scenes. Graphics and animations are not top tier but do not detract from the experience. I'd rather see a well written scene (and there are many here) with the present quality than a lame scene with excellent animation. Sound design is also really well done here, which adds to immersion and leads a much more pleasing experience.

Much as I'd like to know more about the characters and the world they live in, this was still a satisfying and most pleasurable experience. Please mind that English is not my first language, so I apologize for any grammatical errors above.

In short, play this game, you won't regret it!

Once in a while you stumble across a game where you have literally zero expectations and it turns out its just a fun and quality experience all around. Apocalypse Mutant 2 is such a game. It offers some unique mechanics, has a unique way of story telling and despite the fact it doesn't take itself overly serious, still offers a well-rounded story experience. The humor is great too.

THIS is how every game should be. Really good story, nice characters, pretty girls, funny, sexy sex scenes, no grinding, no hundreds of different paths, straight forward, ... I really enjoyed playing it

I'd like to start by saying, I am not a huge fan of the theme (post-apocalypse) or of very action packed VN, I'm more the slice of life type of guy.
Regardless of my preference, this game was so enjoyable, I played it through and loved it. It's predictable, it's exaggerated and it's sometimes cliché. No matter! It's just fun and captivating. Nothing really stands out as excellent; the characters are 4 stars, the story is 'meh' and the graphics are just OK. But somehow the dev managed to special-sauce it in such a way that the sum of the elements is greater than its parts - five stars from me.

It just works, it keeps you curious as to what next. There's a bit of a lack of emotional depth to it in a way. Then again, of course there is, it's post-apocalypse, people would be more prone to skip the mushy feelings parts. They would have avoidant reactions when it comes to getting emotionally attached when everyone keeps dying on them. They would be a little trigger happy when it comes to compulsive pleasure opportunities like sex or alcohol. They would have a sense of humor that comes off as a bit corny/unhinged. I don't know if the dev wrote it on purpose with that in mind, or it just incidentally worked that the type of characters you meet end up feeling like such plausible results to their zeitgeist. Either way, a bit rough around the edges as it felt at first, it integrated all elements as smooth as butter at the end of the day.

Try at least until day 2 to start forming an opinion, it's a grower, not a shower. Nothing too profound, but genuinely entertaining.

Also for the graphics, I will give my three main checkmarks of excellence. I call them 'the immersive boob trinity':

1) more than 50% of the female characters don't have boobs bigger than their head - check (all boobs have plausible volume)
2) no 'lemon-boob-effect'. that has a perfectly spherical base and protrudes perfectly out of the chest, even pointing a bit upwards, like a perfect dome of plastic. - check
3) no sprayed on clothing effect. This is when the clothing looks like it was glued onto the ladies and wraps around their boobs and ass, as if they were drenched in water. This is immersion breakingly unrealistic and leaves too little to the imagination. - check

I'm not even a boob guy, It's just important that the characters look human. I'm big on that!

The menu buttons weren't reachable to me, but it wasn't too big an inconvenience, when you want a do-over, it's not so far back in time that you can't get back with a few taps on that back button. (android).

Apocalypse mutant 2 is those rare gems in this forum which surprise you positively. Before I start the review, I must say the biggest obstacle why people won't play this game is due to windows 95-era graphics. Graphics simply are horrible outdated, making a huge disservice for the game. If I were the dev, I would reskin whole game or pay someone to do it.

But lets start now.

This game is based and fun as fuck. The game starts MC as a female heroine, and she is hungry and scared. Right away she encounters another survivor, who right away when noticing her punches her into face capturing her, and for rest of the game heroine has a black eye. Why won't more games do this?

Every character has a superpower and games uses them cleverly. One character has power to rewind time, which is really funny considering the inherit renpy engine feature of scrolling back. Jokes are good and game has entertaining mini games built-in, and over all game is rather long. There are plenty of sex scenes which become better as game progress, and story and characters are well written.

All this being said, I just wish graphics would be above average. If you have nothing better to do after the work, grab a beer and give it a try!

I knew it wasn't the following of AME 1.
But still at first, I was a bit disappointed because the way AME 1 finish call for a continuation. And I missed Jody...

But after a few minutes, I was caught up in the game.
And we still get the car, the gorilla... and naked yoga ;-)

I like the art of the girls.
They are pretty. Not like some fake Hollywood bimbo, but like girls living in an apocalyptic world. Where women would have to struggle to live, and wouldn't have time for makeup, dress up in fancy cloths...
The only thing that seems a bit unrealistic is that they have trimmed or shaved pussy, which doesn't fit well with apocalypse survivor who will have more important things to do. But I know it's only my kinks who speaks (yes I'm one of the few that like bush ). And I'm aware that it's not a trend nowadays.
I also like their personality. Maybe a bit stereotypical, but each girl has her own.
And in this game, it's the girls that have real power.
The male MC is only an enhancer.

I really like that we have to play a female for a while (another of my kinks , lesbian MC). And I like Rachel, good character to play.
I would even like to just play her.
Still, I quite enjoy playing the male MC. Definitively because he's a bit silly.

I like the humor, the easter eggs (like the Pent Panda poster on a street wall), or the reference to AME 1.

My only critic is that often, when you have some choices, only one is good and the others are only end game.
And there are no clues for guessing which choice is the good one.
Only trials and (fatal errors, until you find the right choice.

But overall, I really enjoy this new game.

Where to start. This is one of the better new games I have played. The art is unique, nice linear playthrough. The humor is good considering the situation the players are in. nice change on the mutant theme.
The sex is a slow build-up. Not like most of the stuff where you see, then fuck right away.
The story is solid. Builds in the right way.
