Are Choose Your Own Adventures Allowed?

My favorite types of porn games on here are HTMLs with real porn. I always thought making one myself would be cool. But the more I fiddle with twine, the more I realize I don't want to do THAT much coding. However, I do think I could grasp enough of the basics to maybe make a less open-ended experience. Like a choose your own adventure. I'm wondering though if a game like that would be allowed. I've never played nor seen one here or any other site. Or at least I don't remember doing so.

Most visual novels are basically just CYOAs with branching paths and pictures (and kinetic novels don't even have THAT much choice). Games generally don't need complicated mechanics to pass as valid games.

The only thing i recall are loli and shot content. No minor sex.
Though i am not sure what do you mean, chose your own adventure. Wanna be a hooker?
The games i experienced do have mostly soft choices. Yes/No/Maybe.
So a character choice that involves things like i want to be a good person vs. a bad person. Or a person that goes naughty or evil. I think this is all allowed. Do you have an example of what you are describing. I think i am not really understand it if it's not that what i described.
HTML games are alright. though i dislike porn pics. I do like games that use HTML and have their very own images. Drawn or rendered.
Ok, i read briefly on Wiki. So if it's about making choices, i am not seeing the problem.
Personally, i am bored with most games here as they usually don't really have meaningful choices. So something fresh would be great. Maybe that answer the question.

For QPS games with choices and renders, check out FemLife

I think QPS could be something for you. As far as i can see, it isn't terribly complicated and has location/task/object/characters/events.
I will look into that as well. Never thought of it.
Otherwise RenPy is also not very complicated though you do need to code a little.

Old school... physical books.

You start on page 1, read the text. At the bottom of the page might be:
  • Go North - Turn to page 116
  • Go South - Turn to page 83
  • Open the door - Turn to page 7
Each page would be like that and you've end up jumping all around the book following the story.

"Your own adventure" would be the fact that you make a choice on each page as to what you do next, where you end up is an accumulations of your own choices up to that point. The best ones led to chains of choices that were impossible to keep track of by keeping 8 or 9 fingers jammed as bookmarks on pages you previously thought might be important choices.

Most (RenPy) AVN games are just an evolution of the same sort of thing.

Agree. Though i never read these books. I am sure they were also available in my country at the time but i never came across any of them.
But yes, this is what i read about them. Seems very similar to the games that are here.

If you think Twine is too difficult to put together a basic game then, with all respect, you might need to spend a bit more time looking at learning a little more about that part of game dev. Twine + sugarcube and/or Renpy are two of the most basic platforms for putting together a basic CYOA style game (a Visual Novel is a CYOA with images as well as text).

Renpy suffers from poor documentation that is intimidating for beginners. But the amount of "code" required to show image / show text / show menu / jump to a new "page" (called a "label" in renpy) is very minimal.

The next level up from the simplest CYOA/VN flow is to have a few flags or counters that can control what choices are available (think hit points in an adventure game, or "has_the_door_key" true/false).

It's true that both Twine and Renpy do get complicated once you try to start doing things like changing the default look / adding visual effects. Twine runs in a web browser platform so to customise the look you have to use HTML + CSS. Renpy has its own inscrutable sub-languages for display layout ("screen language") and animation (ATL "Animation Transform Language").

If you really have the drive to make something, it's best to jump in and have a go. It's honestly not that hard.

If you get stuck, find existing games and investigate their code to understand how to do something. Or ask for help in a forum like this, or find a friendly collaborator on the https://f95zone.to/forums/recruitment-services.117/ subforum,
