Are games with english dub fairly criticized?

Western countries don't have the same volume of erogames or even eroanimation that Japan has. Due to that, it is considerably less common to see people with acting chops, even if amateur ones, working with this kind of stuff.
At the same time, the overwhelming majority of westerns playing jap eroges don't know japanese. So it is easier to assume that the quality is by default higher.

The only western game with english voice acting that I've played was Snow Daze. I had to mute it because it was too cringy.

If you find that game's voice acting cringe, then you can't really find any good

I don't know a lot of them, but I think lack of direction is an issue. Finding some milf on Fiverr and telling her "here, read these lines" is not exactly a recipe for greatness. Just look at Saria Reclaimed, the voice doesn't fit the character at all and she's reading them all seductively, even when they're not supposed to be. I know there is real talent in this space, I've seen 3D animations with good VA, but I just haven't seen it utilized well in a game.

As long as the player has the option to separately mute the voice audio--that's the most important thing.

For me personally, even if i'm watching a Western porn video i'll have it on mute. Too cringy.

I don't want to try to explain here. The main point i wanted to make is to make sure the players can separately mute audio tracks. If you have voice acting, cool let me mute it and keep the game sounds. If you have background music, cool let me mute it. Otherwise i have to mute the whole game.

The mother character from Milky Touch had probably the best voice acting among all western porn games (excluding Subverse because that game is a special case). The thing is, Milky touch doesn't have voice acting for sex scenes. That's basically where we're at. You can probably find good voice actresses that can bring the character to life, but whether they agree to doing sex scenes or even work on a porn game is questionable. The ones that do porn dialogues are generally less skilled in voice acting in general. The good ones you saw in rule34videos or whatever are mostly sound effects and short dialogues. I've seen some good ones too, but we don't know if they are capable of voice acting a full game.

The porn game industry in the west is basically all small time indie devs. There is no real expectation to have voice acting in western porn games (unlike Japan where the standard in hentai games is to have the females voice acted). Western porn game scenes tend to be much more visually driven rather than dialogue driven. So there is no porn VA industry either. It's not a real job in the west, so at best, we got some skilled amateurs. So it must be incredibly hard for a dev to connect with a VA skilled enough to get the job done and agree on some payment plan.

Poor direction and the VA taking on a role they arent really a fit for. Take yakuza 8 (like a dragon infinite wealth) for example

VA is so important for me when it comes to enjoying a game. Great games get ruined by poor VA choices. It doesn't even necessarily have to be bad acting it could just be the wrong actor for the job. From that point of view, I think it's pretty fairly criticized on the whole.

You're not wrong, but House Party defies that expectation.
