Are mobile games like chatting games tagged as text based or not? Was debating with a friend and he said it should be considered text based. But I don't see such tags in Lucky Phone or such games. So that left me confused and just wanted to ask for you guys thoughts.

If you get the two mixed up in your mind, it might be because they have a lot of similarities -- including a very heavy "text based" game play. Although it does not have the tag, I could see an argument for it getting the "text based" tag, if someone asked the staff to consider.
Questions they may ask might include:
- What is the main interface for the player to interact?
- To what extent are the images that are in the game involved with telling the story?
- How does this game compare to other games with the "text based" tag?

As you can see, simply having images does not preclude a game from getting that tag.
When the new tag system is implemented, some time before the heat death of the universe, the tag may have the following definition:
