Are these PC specs good enough for beginner?

Hi folks, I really love games like the ones on this site... And I've wanted to make my own game for a while now. I don't think my laptop is up to the task, but I'm looking at buying a PC with the following specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS Processor, RAM: 32GB Storage: 1 TB SSD, Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6 GB

I wonder if some of you who know a lot on specs, could tell me if this would be good enough to do renders on Daz, Blender, etc

For example, based off those, how long do you think it would take to process a render etc...

Would greatly appreciate your help. I'm a creative person and really want to make my own game... Thanks.

You don't say what your laptop has... That should have been the info you shared - not your wishlist.

However, if you are really JUST staring out making your own game - you should just use your laptop to test the waters before you drop some money on a new desktop.

Personally I'd suggest spending time learning Daz/Blender software inside out, which will allow you to create visually stunning renders/animations (with time spent learning post production photoshop/Gimp too, of course).

Hardware will always come second to ability and knowledge of software to improve and speed up the creative process.

So far I've only ever heard it said graphics hardware dictates the speed of renders but does not improve the visual quality.

Your current setup seems more than capable. Once you find your niche and audience, then would be the time to upgrade.
By that time you hardware you'd buy now would either be dirt cheap or redundant.

Yes and no. If you want to get something out before the heat death of the universe you need to make compromises, things like rendering at a lower resolution, using denoising softwares etc... It's the same quality/time trade-off you have to make with a dedicated GPU, but worse.
But I do agree with the first part. It's better to get your hands dirty with the software first before considering splooging for hardware.

I will point out that the amazing Actual Roommates, made by the even more amazing HanakoXVN is made entirely WITHOUT a discrete GPU.

Thanks for the replies! Appreciate it!

Currently my laptop is 8GB Ram and AMD Ryzen 5 3500u...
How would this be with DAZ? I will start exploring it right away...

I do know how to use Photoshop already...

GPU? You need Nvidia for DAZ...

That's enough to dick around in Daz and render with CPU, which I would strongly suggest you do to start with. If you take to it you can buy the PC later.

Jumping on the hardware-poverty bandwagon:

Nothing is Forever by MrSilverLust had the first 4 chapters created entirely on a mid-spec laptop with onboard GTX1060 GPU.

And that game is (in my somewhat biased opinion) one of the absolute best adult game experiences on this site.
