Daz Asset Question - MC Model

Hi, I'm a new dev. I'm decently far into writing my lewdy VN & decided to get everything else in-place.

I've never used Daz before. I'm looking to find a model for my MC. How do I know if a model can be nude? Do they come default nude? Must I add genitals to most models? I'm not sure how this all works! If someone could point me in the right direction on how to find good nude models / how to identify if they have all the nude parts - I'd appreciate it a lot!

Default models contain no nudity. There are many PPs assets, with the most common being "Dicktator", which can be applied to any male model.

Okay, so you're probably not going to like hearing this, but you're doing the whole thing kind of backwards. You should be learning your weakest elements before even starting a full-go project.

I highly suggest setting aside what you've written for now. Learn Daz, make a couple shorter games, and get your feet under you with the software. Once you feel comfortable with Daz, then resume working on the one you're writing now. Making a VN early on is a practice in futility. Everything that can go wrong will go wrong, and you need to know how to fix those things in a reasonable amount of time. Getting those lumps in with smaller games is going to be easier than dealing with a larger scale AVN.

Strongly agree with this.
I made that mistake myself. Jumped right into it and... completely fucked up my idea. Ended up having to cut a lot of content out of the game. Not to mention having to work a character model that was just terrible ( I ended up cutting her out of the game). And had to make a whole lot of character and environment adjustments, while making the game, that just made the whole process of making the game absolutely infuriating.

Luckily though, Daz is the easiest one to learn. And there are so many assets for it. Before you start, make sure you like the models, the environments, clothing, HDRIs for your ideas. Some of them are hard to work with, so test everything before you start using it in the game and then have to deal with it for the rest of the game.

P.S. There are, sort of, default genitalia. For Genesis 8 it's called Genesis 8 Anatomical elements, or something like that. You just need to find a character model that comes with the skin that has genitalia materials as well. That genitalia is perfectly fine and is often compatible out of the box with some shelles. Like wet skin shells. But if you want some highly detailed dick or a dick that is a third leg than you go with Dicktator or dbxx. But third party shells (dicktator or dbxx, in this case) create other problems. Test everything out before you get set to deal with it for possibly a few years of making a game.

Every (most probably) model can be nude but you have to add genitals.

This is wonderful advice from you both. I appreciate it. I'm partly using this project as an excuse to learn basic scripting / unity. It gives me a few motives to continue with this project, so I think I'll be fine with a bit of challenge as it progresses. I'm aware the scope of my project will likely have to be cut down to something a bit more realistic. I'm okay with wasting writing / repurposing it / or just considering the practice to be beneficial to what I write in the future. I've been consistently spending at least an hour or two a day on this for awhile and have been enjoying working through the frustration(So far xD...) (My adderall helps a lot).

Perhaps I'll create a smaller throw away project to hone in everything. You both made a good point. I'd imagine it'll be less frustrating to battle with a project I have less expectations for. Probably more productive in the long run as well. I think I'll start with Daz today to make sure my expectations are realistic.

I appreciate the advice! :).
