Get lost, discover new places. Get lost more, discover more new places. Finally, memorize a map... it just gets bigger. Compared to the SEQUEL series, ASYLUM is purely an exploration game.
Although the story is weak compared to other games, we can say that it is not bad. First, you need to play the game more than once to fully understand the story. Because we have more than one ending and rest assured, it is definitely worth seeing them all. As always, hakika's writing is superb.
We can definitely say that the gameplay has been.. simplified. The combat and skill system is much simpler. There are no different classes, no different skill trees. Not to mention that Familiars only have a few skills and of course there is no reincarnation either. For grind stuff, this time we have aryaum mirage grotto. Spent my hours... Anyways, as I mentioned above, ASYLUM is more of an exploration game.
Of course, Hakika's art and scene designs are so good that I can't find anything to criticize. Our main character is "pretty" hot. And each scene is more exciting than the next. Fap-worthy!
Even though Malice is a great character, the other characters... or rather NPCs, don't have as good personalities as in the SEQEUL games characters. They're still good characters, but not great.
To sum it up, it's a nice fun spin-off. Despite the size of the map and the fact that I played through it three times (which takes 2-3 hours with NG+), it was shorter than the SEQUEL games. Took me around 25 hourish.
