Frontwing has disappointed me a number of times (ISLAND, Hatsumira), and I wasn't that impressed with ATRI, but if I'm being fair it's still a good VN, especially now that A.I is all you ever hear about. Let's say that you have read other titles from the dev, and liked the humor presented, this becomes an instant recommendation.
Positive:
- The premise is pretty interesting, because it mixes A.I, "robots", feelings, and contact with humans. (It's the old what makes a human, human)
- The setting has high school in it, but it's very different from traditional (post apocalyptic... sort of).
- The OST is good. The visuals are nice too.
- Atri is adorable, and very funny (the main reason to read this).
- The story goes to some interesting places, in particular the connection between "mechanical" heroine and human protagonist (some plot points are negatives, and a waste of time though).
Negative:
- It's filled to the brim with annoying tropes, and for a VN this short, this is no different from a crime (It's the usual frontwing slice of life/humor, and not even Atri's voice actress manages to salvage it).
Score: ATRI my dear moments is a 7/10. Even if Frontwing has a negative track record (with me), I don't see any reason to avoid this. If you read the premise, and think it sounds interesting, then I'm recommending it.
