VN - Ren'Py - Aurora Protocol [v0.2] [Astghik]

The initial chapter got off to a good start, the only issue I have was that there was no real reason to lie about aurora being the MCs cousin. Other than that minor issue with the story, the interactions with the LIs are good, and the animations were pretty nice, I think some work could be done to spruce them up a little bit, but overall they looked good.

Good start. The cast is nice, the story is interesting and we've got animations. And last but not least the tags are looking promising. It has everything the typical AVN enjoyer would want. You should give it a try.

nice game and nice models i will follow the game and see what it becomes. at this point in time 0.2 is a bit confusing the story for me but i did read the dev wants to make a trilogy so it might make more sense later at leat is confusing for me like i said so i would say give it a try the models are quite diferent from what i usually see

So far so good. Not sure where the story is going. Only about 30 minutes into it. Graphics have gotten better. Seems to be an android/Ai uprising type story so far. Will be happy as long as i get all the girls...LOL

There is quite a bit of potential in this game. The story could become interesting, but that is a relative unknown until the game develops further. The animation could use some work, specifically the looping when a scene is meant to terminate. It might be worthwhile to fix .1 before proceeding further, as the lighting shifts were rather jarring. I know, there was a warning, but that doesn't change the result of three to five different lighting layouts in a single scene. All said, a solid four-star game, at this time.

I finished playing this and I decided to update my review.
Why only two stars?
We, players, must do two unnecessary things at launch. Every time we open the game we must choose language and confirm we're not underage. Instead of making language choice an option in preferences and age confirmation at the start of the game. I cannot say for any language beside Russian, but it's machine translation without proofreading. Let's say it cost 1 star.
The game itself is a short demo with little bit of story and one sex scene at the end. There's nothing to play here at the moment, it's more like a proof of concept than a first chapter of AVN.
The story, if I can call it that. MC has a multi-billionaire people (totally not his parents) who raised him, these people has two daughters that already in love with MC (for no reason), their mother is there too. But MC having sex with another girl, daughter of another rich man and she's already in love with MC. For the same reason as other girls. In other words, classic harem with impregnation. Been there, saw it all, nothing new.
Oh, I forgot, it's not the story, it's genre. OK, there's some kind of story. Near future, mad androids, strange girl with cybernetics inside, security teams at MC's disposal... and it's not a story, it's disposition. That is worth 2 stars at least by itself.
Then there's dialogs and how MC behaves. Dialogs on a kindergarten level, I almost stop reading, they are that bad. And MC... man, that raised him, is lost on a job. OK, it's not my problem. Some girl arrives and announce to MC that she will protect him (but told others she's his cousin), OK, it happens, nothing to care about. She stabbed dying MC with big syringe - nothing to worry about, that's normal. Security guy asks him not to leave the building - MC wants to buy flowers in the city amid total chaos and security guy can fuck off... It's like a carnival of morons and the main one - MC. I'd say it cost another star but then I saw a sex scene.
At last there were normal text among porn movie quotes. That was some description (another unneeded thing in AVN) but that can be read without my palm on my face. I add a plus one for that.
After the sex scene dev decided to say some words to player. It was better if he/she didn't do this.

*Story so far- 4 stars. Liking the story so far. Can't wait to see where it goes

*Renders- 1st update I'd give them 3 stars. New update I'd give 4-5 stars

*Animations- 1 star. The animations really suck. They break the immersion of the game because they don't even look like the same game. Looks like it switches to a honey Select game. Text and sequenced daz renders would be 100% better

*Love Interests-4 stars (would be 5 if not for the lez talk) Really liking all the love interests so far. The only con is that one of them is already having Lez thoughts that I don't want to read. Shouldn't force that, or have the MC get excited over it if the player doesn't choose that content.

So far theres not much content but its a pretty good start, story is decent but like i said just getting started so to early to say much about it.

As for the girls there s a decent selection and it looks like you can turn down girl you dont like which is great and i truely hope dev keep it that way.
Theres not really any petite but there are some normal girls which i personaly like, theres also some with idiotic huge tits for the cavemen out there, not for me which is why having a choice is extremly importen.

Theres 2 reasons i cant give this top marks.

1) The MC lusts for all which feels compleatly idiotic when you read MCs thoughts about how hot he thinks someone is and then you turn them down 2 seconds after, it breaks immersion and its a stupid move from dev sides making the MC lust for all even those you might find ugly as fuck, instend they should let people think for them selfs and remove those kind inner dialogs.

2) The animations while they are pretty decent the skin color feels off, they almost turn golden like they are painted with the highest gloss possbile which makes them look a bit weird.

Music is pretty standard stuff but decent.

A unique game, the setup is intriguing. It promises to be a great new kind of story. I really hope this story will continue for a long time. The setup allows for many a whole series of games in the future.

Between a 3* and 3.5* so far

Setting is interesting, writing and graphics are average. Pacing is probably a little to fast, and its very much a Gary Stu game. Roughly 30 minutes of content so far, but its only been in development a few months. Has potential to finish as a solid 4* game.

I would suggest giving it a try

Good start. The characters have new faces. Sci-fi storyline has many possibilities. The renders look good and I do believe that they will become excellent as the storyline progress with support from patreons.

The story seems pretty fun so far and the animations are good. The models look good and "clean" and there isn't really any "jank" that I've seen so far! It's a very good start and I hope it keeps getting supported and expanded! Keep up the good work m8!

This game is in its infancy, but the graphics are very good and the story is shaping into a story of mystery and subterfuge with our MC surrounded by very attractive women, one of whom seems to be much more than what is first apparent. The storytelling is well-paced with good foreshadowing and interesting teases of coming romantic entanglements. I will look forward to coming releases of this game, and hope that the quality remains high or becomes even better.

After the update to v. 0.2, I'm still enthusiastic about this game's storytelling and character development. As with most harem games, some of the progress with LIs seems a little faster than might be expected, but I enjoyed it, so I'm not complaining. We also got to see more of the perils that are impending for our heroes, including expanding the mystery with another unexplainable source of threat.

since it is a initial release of the game the it looks super nice and the story is really interesting the animations need some work. I am a bit excited to see the future updates on the story, the girls and obliviously the animations.

The project is good.

- Story: It's something different, even if it's not overly elaborate, and it looks interesting.

- Graphics: They're not bad, BUT it's clear the developer isn't a graphic designer. Several images have brightness issues or weird filters. This could be due to the developer's inexperience and will likely be fixed over time.

- Characters: Nothing too remarkable, but the girls are cute, and the MC doesn't look like an idiot or a 13-year-old, so it's already a win-win.

- H-scenes: Aside from the weird filters and lighting, it looks great.

Recommended as long as you're not a stickler for perfect-looking images.

This a generally favorable review, but it will need updating after a newer release.

The models are generally attractive, but could use some work. Olivia's breast are unnaturally large as an example. Luna's head is odd....

The story is a slightly different twist on a well tested formula. The writing quality could use work.

This review is for 0.1. If I play 0.2 and there are improvements, I'll take a look at adjusting.

This has potential but it needs a lot of work. There will be spoilers here that I did not cover up but I tried to save them for the LI and plot section but there's a tiny one in the music section.

Music: The music selection is alright but nothing is memorable. Each LI has their own track in the bio screen which is cool but time will tell if that is consistently applied in the story or not. If it isn't, then the tracks in the bio screen are just extra music for no reason.
I'm gonna throw the sound effects in here too. They are terrible. Olivia's scream at the end of the episode? Find another one.

Renders: Typical Daz stuff. There's worse out there and there's better. The lighting is horribly inconsistent and most noticeable in the lewd scene. Some of the environments could use work to make them look more lived in. This looks like a museum that some people happen to be hanging out in.

LIs: Got the usual tropes here.
Younger "friend/sister" type with innocence. Typical "oh you saw me in the bath accidentally" scream.
Older "friend/sister" type that has more of a banter relationship with the MC. She doesn't seem as conflict ready as the trope normally is so that's refreshing.
Asian that we don't really know much about yet other than she's excited about living with the MC. I'm sure we'll get more in future updates.
"Adoptive but not adoptive" parent type with boobs bigger than her head. She's meant to fill the mom role and of course immediately starts noticing the MC after the first flirt despite living with him for years. I'm normally not one to bash having a large chest but hers feels comical. It also feels inconsistent because in some renders they look okay.
Then there is Aurora. Typical mysterious LI that you'll find out more about in future updates.

Plot: The groundwork is okay, there's just weird inconsistencies here and there. Everyone accepts the situation way too fast. Mysterious girl shows up, claims she's sent by your "adoptive but not adoptive" parent that has been missing and you just let her in where she immediately does weird stuff. Why wasn't she introduced to Mia and Luna? They come home, obviously able to see each other, and it gets completely glanced over. There are other, more nitpicky, kinds of decisions. The MC breaks his main tv with an alarm clock at the start so when he's playing with Luna later they have to play on a smaller tv but the larger tv shows no signs of damage. If you don't have the asset to reflect a broken tv, just toss the idea out, it's not doing anything for the story anyway. Why are the bookshelves empty? It doesn't look like a room that is lived in.
I didn't even talk about the ending. It felt kinda obvious the android was gonna do something to harm the MC but that's fine. Not sure there's anything to complain about here yet since it's just the beginning.

Grammar: There's quite a few mistakes. Almost nothing has punctuation. Your and you're get swapped in almost every occurrence. Some words aren't capitalized that should be. Hopefully this is addressed with a proofreader or at the very least, a better proofreading pass.

PROS:

1. Most female models look fairly good, pretty and sexy even.
2. Music is decent and works well enough, nice little detail to have each character have their own "theme" song, but not something remarkable or really of any significant value.
3. Interactive sounds are also a nice detail like doorbell, phone, alarm clock, all add to immersion, lewd sounds particularly are nicely done.
4. Animations and POV are actually pretty decent, albeit inconsistent (see cons).
5. Generally writing is structured and reads well, albeit grammar needs work.
6. A fun, lighthearted vibe to dialogue is nice also and is balanced well across the various characters and scenarios, especially when other emotions come into it.
7. Interesting enough plot, with some added intrigue with the MC and Aurora dynamic.
8. Nice point system but needs more context.

CONS:

1. Some characters like Olivia could do with some attention and reduction...
2. Lighting on some scenes are out, one moment there is no light on the character then next (in same scene) its like a flash went off...no consistency.
3. Point 2 above is again emphasized during the BJ scene where lighting is all over the show, the characters look is not consistent during animations either and quality overall goes from low to high and back.
4. Opacity setting for dialogue box would be nice...
5. Story/plot has some questionable writing that sometimes don't make sense and characters do not react in what we would call "normal" ways which breaks immersion and sets my bullshit sensors off...
6. Like the overly large breasts, some of the facial expressions are just "too much" subtlety can go a long way, not here though, here its all dialed to 200%...makes the game feel more like a comedy.
7. Some refinement to model stances and body/limb positions don't look natural, like the scene with Wei holding his arm up, the way its done is unnatural and he looks like he is swinging a prosthetic.
8. The point system seems fine and all good, some more context would be nice, like what are the scales, what do you unlock at what threshold, when are you heading for friendzone or love interest? More detail please.

FINAL REMARKS, OPINIONS & SUGGESTIONS:

NOTE: The following remarks are my personal opinions and thoughts, which may provide more context and could be useful to the developer.

• Olivia (mother figure) is one of those LIs that just look bad IMO. Not sure why the poor woman is cursed with tits double her waist-line...she also has a relatively plain/ordinary face and mousy colour hair which really just does not fall into beautiful, rather ordinary, apart from the huge tits she's sporting. The breasts being so large is not just an Olivia issue, many LIs have IMO too large breasts which are out of proportion and really unnecessary. This kind of design does not appeal to me.
• Adding to above comment, using large breasts should be a "special" thing, and I mean large breasts like for some human cow who literally gets milked. Then it make sense in the nonsensical kind of way and can be called a kink, but when many of your female LIs have huge tits its kinda on the nose, obvious and looses its kink and effect and I am a boobs guy through and through, for me to say cut down on the silicone is significant
• Regarding some plot issues are like the MC meeting Aurora and taking everything too much in the stride, a woman shows up barefoot at their door dressed in a fashionable evening attire randomly. Then claims to be sent by someone the MC knows but has no credentials or proof and they simply let them in? While admittedly she is hot, that's a big fuck no to me...Further along Luna and Mia come home and no one introduces Aurora, she is just there and its the most natural thing. Inconsistencies like this again, break the immersion that a VN should always have. If you go simple porn logic and generate fap content on top of another then flow, dialogue and plot hardly matter, but thats not whats going on here.
• To above point, needing to create such an elaborate bullshit story as she can't go back to her apartment because the CDC has instructed her to keep clear due to her flatmate having some virus? LOL WTF dev, CDC does not get involved in shit like that until there is an outbreak where many people are involved, where did you get hold of this? Not to mentioned a CDC outbreak would be on the news, people will talk so that story wont hold water. The best lies are told with half truths, why not just say she got evicted from her apartment when her flatmate didnt pay the rent and gambled it all away or something that is actually plausible...
• Breakfast for supper? Trays and such on the table...OK...
• Inconsistent visuals during normal renders and animations are apparent and do sadly stand out too much not to be noticed or mentioned. I hope the dev goes back and polishes on this, its good but deserves more attention.

TLDR:

You could say my review does some nitpicking, its not completely wrong, but I do like consistency, things based closer to our reality which drives immersion. So small details can throw that off easily and there are plenty in this VN. The consistency issue follows through on some visuals, including animations that need to be revised and improved a little.

That said, its overall a solid first release and the quality is pretty good overall. I hope that some refinement and attention to things I mentioned would be forthcoming in future updates.

This VN is strong on its way to 4+ stars, I would give 3.5 in its current state but 4 is too high. Until I see some improvement and consistent quality from start to finish it will stay 3, though doubt the dev will amend anything.

amazing start, but what i really liked about this is how alive the characters feel, and the game's humor is fan fucking tastic too, i can't wait for more updates and also hoping for more MILFs and pregnancy content
