I might have missed them, also I'm unable to do transcodes as of right now, handbrake and a few other things are broken with the CMake4 update on linux. I'll do those once all thats fixed. What happened to the studiofow encodes?
They were in the proton folder. What happened to that?I might have missed them, also I'm unable to do transcodes as of right now, handbrake and a few other things are broken with the CMake4 update on linux. I'll do those once all thats fixed.
I have been redoing them with different forms of encoding. More consistent sizes and better quality. Sorry that I missed that, just waiting on this CMake issue to be fixed with the handbrake-full package. They were in the proton folder. What happened to that?
So did you give up on doing them? its been 2 monthsI have been redoing them with different forms of encoding. More consistent sizes and better quality. Sorry that I missed that, just waiting on this CMake issue to be fixed with the handbrake-full package.
Do you want to support 95% of your audience with smaller file sizes, or support 100% of your audience but with bigger file sizes...I disagree most modern devices can handle H265 and AV1.
From my experience it is mostly the video format and not the encoder that makes it unplayable. Also default video players ain't the best one to watch things. There is a reason for VLC being go to playerH265 and AV1 aren't playable in a lot of devices and shows up as a blank screen, even in 2025, just FYI to artists looking at this
There is no reason for people beside using bad video player not playing AV1/H265 even so more with W11 which is out-of-the-box. Computer should work.Do you want to support 95% of your audience with smaller file sizes, or support 100% of your audience but with bigger file sizes...
A question I ask myself alot whenever a patreon subscriber dm's me and says my video encoded in av1 "does not work" for them
Well other option I guess is do both, but you'll run out of storage space quickly
