VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Avalon [v8.2] [Lockheart]

Playthrough summit: 30% reading, 65% catching your breath from ROFL, 5% staring at you know what.

The models have a touch of cartoonish, but quite attractive. The story is pretty well written and points to a slow burn in terms of lewd content. Worth the download.

I've never reviewed a game on here before, but the developer mentioned at the end of Act 3 that reviews are very much appreciated, so I wanted to (hopefully) help them out with this review.

I really enjoyed the writing, and it really makes you care about and like the characters. By the end of it, I wanted to give both Avalon AND the MC a hug, which is a far cry from the usual MCs who are sneaking into their sister's rooms at night and jerking off over them. The humor is really great, although I'm sure it's not for everyone, and I actually learned a lot of random facts from the writer's jokes (assuming he/she didn't make those facts up! )

Pros:

• Well written story that takes long enough to develop for the genre that it's in. I read one review complaining about how

• Characters that you get attached to
• The humor is very silly, but made me laugh out loud several times.
• The characters have different personalities! This is what separates a good from great game, in my opinion.

Cons:

• The characters almost seem psychic, (or just incredibly observant) at times, which kind of takes away from the realism.
• I don't really think that the inner monologues of other characters other than the MC fit in to the game. I wish more games would stick to the first-person perspective, as it really allows the player to "be" the MC . I can understand viewing events in a third-person perspective that the MC doesn't see, however, as that doesn't really detract from the experience as much as hearing the other characters' thoughts while the MC is in the same room as them.
• The facial expressions sometimes make Avalon look really odd.
• I played the path with Octavia, and her face seems to be lower resolution than the other models, making it seem sort of blurry.
• As far as I can recall, there is only one choice in the game. I generally prefer games with decisions and consequences. This one is not one of those games, but that's not so bad.

OK, went into this with high hopes after reading the positive reviews about how good the story was and how it was really clever and well written, and I have to say I am incredibly disappointed.

Some parts are well done, the psycho analysing part made me think "Hey, this has legs, looking good" then it disappears down the rabbit hole of "Oh come on, never in a million years would that happen". It's just so wrong, Avalon gets over her ordeal in like 30 minutes, the Uncle goes into full on perve mode within about 40 minutes, and then it happened:


The story just doesn't make sense, it starts of full of promise, a traumatised girl moving in with her Uncle, oh, what a tale it will be seeing her recover, hopefully get revenge, yadd yadda yadda, but no, it becomes a fast track to a bad Incest Porn flick with Characters that are wired to the fecking moon.

Just wow. It gets 2 stars for decent renders.

Reasons: Unfortunately the game has taken a direction that I don't really like so much anymore. The last updates I played had in my opinion very little to do with the original Avalon, and seems to be now just a set-up for the follow-up game with Penny (who in my opinion is NOT a main character in an adult game). A pity.

Sorry, but the last update (Act4) was a bit disappointing for me, although I didn't even get to the new game content. But I personally don't like the new built-in "decisions" in the game so much, it seems to me somehow patched in and so the game's greatest strength, the great story flow, is a bit gone.

Wow, I'm terribly disappointed - for NOT having played it before!
At first I was a little distracted by the girls' faces (yes, the eyes...),
but the longer I played it, the more I have to say: Don't change it!

It's more on the kinetic side, apart from one big decision (Dallas or Octavia route), but that's fine with me. The story is good, the storytelling is great and the humour well placed. Also really likeable characters.

Technically the game is also okay. Just some basic animations - but I think that real animations might even distract. Maybe later, but at the moment not a must.

One of the best VN's I've had the pleasure of reading through. If you're looking for a quick FAP, this one probably isn't for you. If you enjoy a truly well crafted story, lovable characters and a warped sense of humor, then you HAVE to give this one a try. Absolutely phenomenal work!!

One of the best starting stories I have seen. The characters are well developed, the story is solid, and the MC is very lovable and not your usual 12 inch cock who fucks everything that walks style. It is a slow burn for sure, and the big question to me is going to be on the animation and how it holds up since we've saw basically none through the first 3 acts. I will keep this one on my list for sure!

While there isn't much in the way of action through Act 3, the story is good, and the characters are well formed and fun. This one bears watching as the writer could take this in a lot of directions.

This game surprised me. Way above average writing! It's one of very few time that I actually like the MC of the game. This, for once, isn't just some childish cynical perv, but more of a sympathetic grown up, with a pretty good sense of humour, and actually good intentions.

The love interest is his niece (not blood related) that initially isn't really a love interest, but they fall for each other in a somewhat organic way, although a bit fast, as one would expect when two people are a very good match.

Compared to the average game on this site, I'd say this way surpasses my expectations. There's not even a whole lot of nudity here yet, but when both the renders and the writing is this good, that is actually totally fine with me.

If I had to say something negative it might be that I, subjectively, feel like the MC some times comes off as a bit pretentious, and .... "mansplaining?" ... idk if that's the right term. But he goes off on a few rants explaining quite basic stuff as if the niece was a bit dim. Which she clearly isn't supposed to be. But all in all that is a minor complain. Still a top score from me, this far, as I'm waiting for Act4. Yes.. this one comes in ACTS.

I just can´t help it if there is romance in-game, I love it. ❤ So far really good looking game even without any massive sexual content. For someone, it might be a bit dark and the fact that this game is more about the story than sex, but if you don´t mind these things you will definitely enjoy this. Can´t wait for more.

This is probably one of the most interesting VNs I've seen on f95. The humor is decent and doesn't feel forced. It's nice to have a decent MC like the guy in this one, as well. Developer definitely has quite a lot of potential. I'm eagerly awaiting the next update. Don't expect to get off on this one, though. It's definitely something nice to read when you're not trying to spank the monkey (or just finished).

Pretty early on but has all the makings of a really great game. Its well beyond a fuck fest so if youre just looking for a fap Id recommend some of the other great games on this site.

The models are great and the renders are top tier. Very realistic, believable, and proportionate bodies. Not your typical game set up by far (landlady, roomates.) It feels like its going to be a slightly rocky road with your neice but will feel very rewarding. I imagine this will turn out to be a great similar to other story driven games on here.

I especially liked Dallas, she seems very fun but not in the "ima suck your dick right now" kinda of way.

Wow, this game sure is a great play through (as of version 3 being released) and I'm excited for future updates!
Overall, I'd highly recommend this game. Earns five out of five from me, no doubt.
