We would love someone to draw a burning house, a snowy forest, huts and a wooden cabin among other things for a visual novel.

Have you considered just using AI? A real artist is of course always better and more reliable, while delivering better work - but it will probably be pretty hard finding somebody who will work for no pay - especially when it comes to drawing backgrounds.

I didn't claim to be an artist. I in fact said that you would always be better off with somebody who can do actual art for you. You will just be extremely hard pressed when it comes to finding somebody to backgrounds for free. Maybe consider offering payment or a share of future revenue.
