VN - Ren'Py - Bad Memories [v0.9.1] [recreation]

Wow! What a great game so far. The renders are fantastic and some of the best I've ever seen. I've played quite a few adult games and this one is in my top 3. I'm doing this review by playing the male protagonist so some people might consider it a half review or partial. It's great developers that make games with female protagonists, but that isn't my cup of tea.

Hopefully @recreation continues the storyline for quite awhile and I can't wait to see where it goes. I don't necessarily agree with some of the content or tags, but to each his own. As long as there isn't any cuckold or NTR I'm happy. The minute that shows up I'm done with the game. Or if there is a choice to turn it off at the beginning of the game.

Here's my thought about this game after playing the last 3 version.

Graphic / render 10/5 : Just amazing render, but sometimes the lips kinda weird , but the rest is amazing.Also the pic kinda match when talking, not just 1 picture and bunch of text.. background also moving.. Well done

Story 3/5 : So so . but this is a porn game, what'd you expect?

R*pe content 4/5 : unless i miss it, not much of it.. maybe in the future (please xD)

Overall imma give it a 5 stars , cz the render is sooooo good imo , can not wait for the future releases..

Damn Chrome, crashed while I was writing my long review... Hopefully my writing it again fully will put some emphasis on how much I like this game. I actually even thought I had already reviewed the game but why the hell not do it again (x 2) !

First of all how I feel : (Not actually a spoiler but I do wanna follow reviewing rules)


Now for what matters :

Generally and quite objectively a really good game, amazing renders and a very original and well thought out story, the characters are very nice and the little details in the renders/story/game design/programming are just heart-warmingly good.

Renders 4.5/5 :
Might not be the best renders of any game from a purely graphical stand point, though they are pretty damn high up there ! I mean every character model is as good as they can get but minor details in the scene tend to kind of put me off, not why the 0.5 point isn't given though.
Rather in the actual rendering, some reflections, lighting properties and the colour correction aren't perfect.
But I have to say, the renders aren't worth making better because they are already so amazing.

Story 5/5 :
The story is very good, it's original and surprising having a mix of well known elements (sub,drugs,etc.) but presented and written in a way that is oh so refreshing. It's character driven (so most of the story review has to be in the character section) though some plot points lead to the larger story and seem promising .

Characters 5/5 :

Animations 5/5 : Just great! Plenty enough though there could be more in there.

Playability 4/5 : Well done, things like a quicksave at the end of the playable content (v0.5) I have never seen and are so so obviously necessary when you think of it!

Again love the game, you should play it!

Fantastic graphics + Awesome animation + A deep well thought out storyline = An awesome visual novel which will grip you and leave you wanting more and more! I love this VN and how it grips me each and every time I do a playthrough on each update from the beginning. It's also a story I always play both genders so not to miss any content! Trust me you won't be disappointed and it's well worth a download

The visuals and character models are great, the intimate scenes are excellently written and visualized, and the writing, in general, is very good with an interesting story that delves into more uniquely complex relationships than you usually see in other adult VN's. Some choices are presented in the course of the story mostly in the form of how to approach and interact with certain characters, as well as gender choice for the main character at the beginning of the game.

Overall enjoyed the game for its unique approach to the typical adult VN story structure and the appealing visuals as well as good writing.

Honestly enjoyed this game a lot, as a total Dom, the MC's interactions with Katherine were just .
+ One of the few games where you can play a male or female MC
+ Beautiful renders
+ Each girl has her own unique appeal
+ Animated sex scenes
+ Story is good and builds a foundation for why our MC acts a certain way

Basically a well rounded game, which I hope continues to be updated regularly. Cannot wait for more domination choices, especially with Rachel.

this game has potential, has interesting characters with flaws but its lacking in character diversity. The story is ok if not alittle strange for my taste and your interactions with the characters seem forced. also sister character really dosent work for me. hopefully most interesting characters get included in the future.

first game like this that i ever tried and i can honestly say that i ve been blown away about how good it is , especially the story line . I was reluctant to try this type of games but is true what they said in the add is so much better than porn . I can wait for the game developer to finish this version mostly for the story

Good story, loved the characters. I love these type of games with choices and different scenes. Also the graphics are not bad at all, really enjoyed how all the characters look, including the MC both male and female. I also enjoyed the different "romance" options it gives you and that it actually lets you decide which one you can choose. Developer, if you're reading this, keep up the good work!

I want to give this game a higher rating but can't for the simple fact that the player doesn't have any choices to make beyond meeting LI or being intimate with those LI. There are so few choices in Bad Memories that it feels like there is really no reason to give the player any input at all. All dialogue is predetermined, you don't get to choose how the MC feels or reacts toward Rachel (or anyone). Even after you've learned that she's on experiment drugs and you eavesdrop on her talking to someone about you. Nor can you stand up for yourself in any meaningful way with anyone.
There is a "free roam" feel to the game but there is no reason for it. You can't interact with anything in the house or do anything in the house except what the story requires you to do. The passivity of the MC and lack of things to do can make the game frustrating to click through.
All of that said however and I still am enjoying the story. I want to know where it goes and what the resolution will end up being. It just feels like a missed opportunity to not include more of the player's decisions.

Pros: Renders are top notch. Story is interesting if, at the same time, frustrating for lack of player input.

Cons: Minimal chances to make any decisions, no story altering decisions are made by the player. MC is too passive in how they talk to other characters. Frustrating lack of ability to interact with the environment (yet the player can wander the house from room to room). Minimal sexual content, which is all nonconsensual (the MC forcefully fingers someone and wakes up to oral being performed on them).

It has very compelling characters filled with complexity, the pacing flows like a river and the renders are great! One of the greatest thing about this game is it's replayability factor because everytime you play it the characters feels like a breath of fresh air and not tiring at all. It's a great experience and with the end of every episode you'll be stoked to see what's next. What really keeps me intrigued is discovering the mysterious nature of characters and it's also a crucial part where story unfolds.

This game is interesting, the story is still a bit unclear at 0.41 but the behavior and personalities of the girls you meet are clearly what makes this game a 5 stars one.

The best part of the game. And I'm not saying that because of the looks (which are nice and realistic anyway) but mainly because of the great work that has been made on the personalities of each girl. They are all interesting.

=== Story :

It is a piece of life, not really an original one, but a well written one, with some mystery and cliffhangers as the dev likes to say . It might end up a great story, but hard to tell at the moment. Anyway it fits well and you will want to know more. I found the MC interesting as well

=== Sex/Animations :

Very often, games with good story and kinda deep character personalities, comes with a downside which is this section. And... it is not the case here ! Eventhough they are not the best you can find in F95, the animations are still worth your time, the sex scenes relies a lot on the atmosphere of the situation. At the end of a day, not a weak point at all

=== Gameplay :

It is a classic VN with very few choices and interactions. You will have the option to active/shut down some fetish you might like/hate, the author will be clear about them everytime a choice can lead to one of those.
As the story is well paced, girls are interesting, the lack of interaction did not bother me that much, I prefer that than some grindy free roaming.

Overall a nice little game without weak points and a solid casting.

What can i say - playing this game brings only good memories. A well thought script, very intriguing story that keeps you on edge, some very hot scenes that keep your blood pumping. Great game and great adventure!

I loved playing with ellie and the psychologist, I can't wait to see the next version and especially to see even more content with my precious cat-girl and my submissive psychologist.

I also like Rachel when she takes her pills but I don't really like when she hides things from me but I guess it's part of the game

Intriguing... but highly disturbing.
Just kidding, this is a good game, I like the plot and all the characters, there's some mystery involved which I always appreciate, maybe it's a bit fast paced with one character in particular but whatever, we'll see in the future versions what this game has to offer, for now I'm satisfied. Good job!

This game would be as good if it was a slice of life VN...
I won't write about the quality of the renders because.... if you don't see how great those are, you must be stevie wonder...
the story would seem to be the typical MC returns home after years of absense to his extremely hot family... but during his absence things went sour...
and it wll be up to the player to fix everything and lewd everyone in the process... it's gonna be a hard mission full of roadforks but a smiling Ellie will make it worth the journey.

-Story is quite good. I'm interested to see where it goes. The MC not remembering everything from the past is not my favorite device but it's fine.
-Pretty good sexual content. Makes sense within the story and avoids the structured progression cliches.
-LI's are interesting and varied. Visually they are good not great but that's my taste and I'm sure there are others who prefer that they are a little more realistic than what you see in other games.

I personally dislike playing most adult VN's these days, they all seem so similar and just blend together with all the same tropes, cliches, used assets etc etc but Bad Memories is really worth a shot. The story here is notches above the usual VN and most definitely up there with the best adult VN's going around. The characters feel alive and vibrant and none of them look unrealistic or suffer from outrageous proportions.

The renders/animations are also fantastic also up there with the best of the best no complaints, the only thing holding me back from 5 stars is lack of choices but you cannot have everything I guess. Great job Dev keep it up.

This is really solid, and at present I'd probably hover somewhere between a 4 and a 5.

The renders and models and stuff are all fantastic, I'm so used to having to skip over games where everyone has giant beachball tits... even the "mother" character here has a realistic figure and all the others are great (I like the therapist lady the most).

I mainly liked how abusive it all felt ... the 'mother' hopped up on medication and sorry for past wrongs, the sister having clearly experienced trauma, the friend with a poor home life ... god knows what's going on with the therapist lady that she lets you be like that with her - I'm very interested to find out her dysfunction ... only the girl in the coffee shop do you seem to have fairly normal interactions with ... in fact one of my disappointments is that when he's having dreams reminding him of the abuse that happened to the mother character at the hand of his father you never get to see it.

The only reason I've given it a 4 rather than a 5 is that there's not really any choices ... you get some but they seem to just be a binary of do you want content with this person or not ... given the abusive stuff going on then I'd really like choices about how to treat the various people (and to see if I could push stuff to the extremes).

But it's a real solid game for what's there atm and I'll definitely check back in with it again and hope there's more opportunity to get real dark with stuff.

One of the best adult game in here. it has a great story and graphic. it has many characters with their own unique personalities. when i first heard of this game i didn't expect much but after playing, it really blew me away. it is really well made.

Story is 10/10
Graphic is 10/10

So if you're looking for a game with a decent story and graphic, go for it.
