The grind is too hard to play with one hand in the pants, the timing is too stressful and its not the stress on your cock, ADHD gooners should stay away.
Punishment is too harsh for a casual gamers, but god bless the dev for the built in godmod. Click on the bitch 7 times to unlock.

A brief introduction: I played Barely Working on my mobile phone, and honestly, it was a surprisingly enjoyable experience. The structure of levels lasting about 5/10 minutes each is perfectly suited to the immediacy of playing on a phone; in fact, I think it would have lost some of its impact on a PC.
That said, let's move on to the game itself. Barely Working is a strongly arcade-style title, divided into levels covering the days of the week, each set in a different workplace location (office, cafeteria, warehouse, etc.). Each level and day introduces thematic variations not only in terms of visuals and clothing, but also gameplay: while remaining faithful to the core mechanics (complete your task within the time limit while trying to satisfy your colleagues who constantly disturb you), the game changes constantly: sometimes it veers towards a more narrative approach, other times it pushes more towards arcade gameplay. It is therefore easy to understand from the early levels whether the game is for you.
The protagonist is sexy and the erotic scenes are well done and enjoyable to watch; moreover, despite the fast-paced nature of the gameplay, there is no risk of missing any of them, as they are all collected in a dedicated gallery.
The “story” (in quotation marks because there is no real plot, but rather a coherence of characters and events) is nice and entertaining: its addition ties the levels together, introduces us to various colleagues, and allows for various comic sketches.
Overall, I enjoyed completing each level within the time limit, with one exception: the last one (for this version), the CEO's birthday, which I found annoying and unnecessarily punitive. I had to repeat it many times, and in the end, victory depended more on rote memorization of the correct choices than on skill or enjoyment.
In conclusion, Barely Working is a game that I enjoyed: simple, fast-paced, and enjoyable.

- very good artstyle, mc is hot, variety is on point
- fun idea with gameplay, terrible execution. First of all timer and progress bar should be shorter by at least 30%, doing 11 min "run" where you just stare at character and close all spam is painful experience the longer you play the game. Cutting it by 30% would make game instantly twice better. Second thing, bullshit difficulty is not fun. While some levels are rather easy, for example goth outfit from level 1 is almost unbeatable, i did 4 or 5 runs and still didnt figure out how to win that level. So you can imagine, every run is 11 minutes, 55 minutes of staring at character and closing spam and still not winning sounds horrible.

Art: 5/5 Amazing scenes with variety of positions. While there is only 1 girl, she has full wardrobe and it is just well done.
Gameplay: 4/5 I like the gameplay. it is really simple. You choose a level (day/venue) then try to finish work in the day while satisfying the needs of co-workers. It is a bit challenging and the difficulty does ramp nicely. See my comments below on writing/story.
Sound: 4/5 Great!! Good BGM and sound effects.
Story/Writing: 3/5 I love the writing. There is no story per se, you just do stuff. What I don't like is the amount of text reading time vs gameplay time. Game does not pause for you to read, so you are forced to read on the timer, if you want to read at all. It is fine on some levels but noticeably annoying on others. I tend to do 2 runs, first to just read and enjoy the erotic conversation and second run to try to win the round. I know it is intended and I like it but it is a bit too fast for me.

Final thoughts: Great game. Slightly short and a bit on the challenging side, but aside from that, game is lovely.

The art is really nice but the gameplay side is a series of strange choices.

Your goal is to complete your work day, represented by a progress bar, as a timer counts down. How quickly it fills is determined Productivity Gauge (PG) determining how fast it fills. When Candice, the main character, engages in nudity/sex, it makes the PG drop because all the guys in the office wanna fuck her. So, the gameplay loop is trying to get the work meter to 100% before the day ends, which lets you progress, but engaging with the sexual content is the obstacle barring progress. Sometimes a male character will want to fuck you, dropping the PG unless you figure out how to speed him up. Your actual choices are: take off your top, bottoms and do a sexy thing, or occassionally click messages that pop up.

I think I get what the logic is here, but it doesn't make for a good experience. The titillation is supposed to the tension of wanting to see the MC do sexy things but having to abstain in order to reach each level's goal, and it's fairly easy to fail, so you really have to manage things. The problem is I'm too busy paying attention to this gameplay loop to care much about the porn. It's not intrinsically fun, so why am I even here? I'm juggling plates in order to see the boobs printed on them.

A simple change would be boosting productivity if you engaged in the porn content in a certain way would fix this. Or finding a way to stop time, somehow, while the porn happens. As it stands right now, it weird, like oddly passive while requiring way too much attention at the same time.

I want to like it but the gameplay is asininely designed.

Love the art. But for the love of god why do people keep making porn games where the object is to NOT fuck. Or at the very least, make them difficult. Honestly after failing out two times, the art isn't hot enough to get me to sit through it again. And I remembered the exact same thing happened the last time I played this. There's better ways to get off.

Pretty hot but quite difficult, and it's a grind. They should also change Candace hair, it looks kinda weird. It's all static pictures but there is dialogue and a couple voice lines. It is all about free use, so if that's not your thing you won't like it. There is also a small aspect of cheating as some of the guys in Candace's office are in relationships.

Even more fun if you play it at work.

Sweet and simple with a lot of room for creative situations. Especially love the cafe scenes.
It was a little frustrating with the later levels as the timing had to be exact but not so much as it was with games like geometry dash.

I have to agree with many of the other reviews here in saying that this game is a bit of a paradox. Every level is increasingly difficult and requires more concentration to clear it. Because of this, you can't fully enjoy the sex scenes because the goal of the game is to avoid the scenes or at the very least, get them over with quickly so you can resume your work.

You might think, "Well, you can just go to the scene viewer/gallery to enjoy the scenes at your leisure, right?" You would be woefully mistaken. The gallery contains images only. No audio. That may not be a deal breaker to some, but I venture to believe that it is for most players as the sound effects/voice work help make the scenes as hot as they are.

Gameplay is very simple. You try to make your character focus on her work and have to either deal with your coworkers coming to fuck you, or choose "dialogue options" to avoid them coming over at all. Each level changes your outfit/location and varies the challenges you have to overcome to meet your work quota.

I give this game 3 stars because the artwork is, in my opinion, great and the gameplay isn't too hard once you really figure out how to counter your coworkers, but unfortunately due to the nature of how it's played, you can't really enjoy the porn of this porn game.

Think of this as an IDLE game but it's worse because it requires your constant attention and even then you're going to fail and have to do it all over again to get to the next stage.

It's barely entertaining and you won't even enjoy the sex scenes.

So, if you think you're addicted to porn games, play this one over and over again and it'll cure you.

Could've been an easy 4~5 stars if the gameplay were not antithetical to why you'd play a game like this: The whole goal of the game is to fuck or strip or read kinky messages as little as possible and because they made the timer so unforgiving, the gameplay loop consists of your first attempt trying to memorize the sequence so that in subsequent attempts you get to watch Candace look at a screen as much as possible. Add that every attempt lasts several minutes with no speed-up option, this is just such a chore of a game.

One of the few skill based (kinda) games you can actually play one handed. Great art, a decent amount of content that's a bit formulaic but skill varied enough to be worth going through. Highly recommended.

Decent game, with decent dialogue, only really let down with the difficulty of the later levels. These really don't need to be as bad as they are. If you REALLY concentrate, they are doable, but who needs that amount of effort in a porn game.

Replay value isn't there really because replay is already built into the game as a progression mechanic.

Rest is decent. Outfit changes are hot for the most part, overalls as third level in warehouse are pretty bad. Played this way back and it hasn't really progressed much.

The best bit is the art, which there really isn't enough of, but it's very good for about 80% of the game.

I like the art, it's nice enough to give the implication of movement (if you use your imagination) and the sound effects help with that as well. One of the comments in the thread get it right, there's a pattern to it, and it takes about 2 tries for the levels as your getting used to the flow of the game. Only wish I could take more time to read the lewd messages, and part of me wishes it were animated, but that would only distract me more from my "job" d:

I may get the negative reviews for difficulty but this game is fappable and playable with one hand and mediocre skill in English language. Only level I replayed and struggled was Level 1 Day 3 and it was doable in 3rd run so game has 2-3 hours of content max. It is an interesting and different take on the game and a must for free-use enjoyers. Definitely needs simple animations to spice it up, so I recommend this to the dev.
