They wouldn't need to put the gay content into DLC or a standalone game if they just allowed people to choose which path they'd like to take from the start of the game.
At the start of the game, let the player choose which storypath they'd like to go down: gay or straight, both of which being two distinct plotlines. I don't see why the gay content *must* be at the end of the game. I believe Kom and the devs are only thinking this narrowly because ever since the start of development, the gay content has been talked about as "end-game" content. If they broadened their thinking, they could see that they can have two branching storylines here which would do well to satisfy everyone. If you don't like gay content, you stick to the straight path. If you don't like straight content, you stick to the gay path.
