There aren't any best assets. Just look through the Asset Page on here and see what things you like.

But if your completely new I would advice looking through some tutorials as well about the basics of setting up a scene and creating a render, like lightning, posing, expressions, etc. You should be able to find all of this on Youtube.

If you start off, you are in the trial and error phase.
You will have to find the asset that suits your needs.

It took me some time to find shoes that i liked and that worked best for me. Same for clothing.
Environments are more difficult as your preference plays a big role. Also, you probably (i don't know) need to know how to light everything.
There are a lot of topics about that here but one site that is very useful to understand DAZ is this one.

There are a lot of assets and it can and will be overwhelming. But you need to know what you are aiming for. Unfortunately the DAZ website has no good search options (maybe by design) but you can also look at . Search options are somewhat better.

I am not usen G8.1 but G8. So not sure about that figure model.

1. You will need lots of poses ( sexual and non sexual ones )
2. Look at Camera script
3. Lights ( this depends on your skill/ desire, but you can either learn how to do your own lights or buy some light sets ).
4. Enviroments ( rooms, houses, outdoors, etc ).
5. HDRI's for outdoors.
6. Mesh Grabber
7. Fit Controll.
8. Clothing, shoees, accesories, hair, etc.
9. Characters. Either buy pre-made ones or learn how to use the shaping keys in daz. If you want to make your own characters, you will need a bunch of shape morphs and skin textures.

This is about it.
Just google those on the Daz website and you will find everything that you need to start.

Posing is one of those things that takes a lot of practice and time. As you get more experienced, you get faster. I think every new DAZ artist should spend a lot of time learning how to do poses because it teaches you the basic anatomy of the Genesis characters better than almost anything else. You're not just dealing with simple motion in three Axis... you have to deal with that motion, compounded by the motion of the bones on either end as well. To make poses look natural takes some real experience. Ya, so spend a lot of time looking at naked woman! Get a muse (or porn  )

One tip for posing... When you seem be getting frustrated because it's taking way to long just to move someone's arm a certain way, go and reset all the bones in the area you are working and start over. For example... normally to move the arms forward or backward, you just select the bicep (Left/Right-Shoulder Bend) and move the front-back slider. But if your shoulder joint (Left/Right-collar) is in an extreme position, that biases the arm below so now the front-back moves the arm totally different than what you expect. If you always start from the reset position, you learn the steps to get the pose you want way faster.

Another suggestion is to not just take a pre-built pose and use it mulitple times. Make it unique... even moving a hand a smidge one way or the other, or having the head tilt a bit between conversation, adds a lot more realism and separates you from the herd of noobie devs that just spam canned poses with vanilla Genesis models to make a porn game.
