Best OS for eroge

My main PC has crapped out and I'll be replacing it soon. But I'm sick of Win10's bullshit so I'll likely build my next one with Win7 instead. I was wondering if anyone has had any issues trying to run eroge on Win7 which they didn't have with Win10.

I guess Linux is an option too, but it seems like a lot of hassle.

I know my game (RPGMaker MV with an updated nwjs) can't be run on windows 7 without workarounds. I've also heard of Renpy dropping older OS support as well, but I'm unsure if that effects players. Even steam has dropped official win7 support.

Also it is per se bad idea to use an unsupported and old OS. So either use still Win10 (not good, but better than Win7) or Win11 or alternate like Linux, BSD, Apple, ...
Or use an old OS but never ever plug it to the internet.

Depends on how old the games you are going to play. Some old eroge need XP or 7. You need a VM for those. To be honest, if a game can't be played on a modern OS (10 or 11), it's not worth it.
