Best program for translating Japanese games to English?

Been trying to look around for programs but can only find things outdated by years. I should also mention I am not looking for an rpg translator. More like VN games.

Theres some that use Optical Character Recognition and run it trough google api's and display translated text on the screen

That is true but from my experience machine translations are laughably bad. Especially google.
