Not sure if a thread like this already exists or not, but here is a list of my very favorite VN's that have actual good romance with depth and progression in them.

I encourage anyone reading this to leave a list of their favorite romance VN's too. Most of these VN's also have an obvious ''main'' LI, for those like me who prefer more focused romance's.

The List:
A Mother's Love
The DeLuca Family
Intertwined
Summer's Gone
Halfway House
Chasing Sunsets
Hillside
Melody
Acting Lessons
Leap Of Faith
University of Problems
A.O.A Academy

There are probably more out there that I have forgotten, so please feel free to add any. I have tried to exclude games that have been abandoned or games that throw the MC around too many girls at a time without fleshing any of them out enough for you to give a toss, or the girls don't care about you being unfaithful to them (harems in other words). Also going to leave a fun little poll too ;)

Love of Magic's definitely a romance story with a strong primary LI; the central arc of the 3 books is the love between MC and Emily. Arthurian Urban Fantasy, Harry Dresden meets Persona.

I have played this one actually but recall getting put off by it's sandbox elements, however now knowing that it has a strong primary LI, I will have to revisit and give it another shot! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Edit: Just realized you are the developer, I mean absolutely no offence when saying I was put off by the sandbox elements. This is not a problem with your game but more of a personal preference of mine. Going to give it another go! Cheers and keep up the good work with your game, best of luck :D

Grind is entirely optional; there's a built in cheat system (Ctrl+J to activate), where you can give yourself money and stats.

Re: the poll -- my answer would be "It depends on how well it's written." Slow burns are okay - and sometimes great - if they're done well, but can also slip into "This is boring/frustrating/bad" territory easily.

I definitely agree. It's all in how it is written, mostly. I do tend to prefer slower burning stuff over the rushed ''wam bam thank you mam'' though.

- however, there can also be a ''too long'' to slow burns as well where interest gets lost because it takes too long or they just put a bunch of weird filler content in to inorganically prolong it. It all comes down to the writers skill to pull it off. A well done slow burn to me is one that fleshes out the love interest, and builds up a good amount of tension in the relationship before the ''outcome'' occurs.

Summer's Gone has a good example of this, with Bella's path in particular. That game is a very fine example of the kind of slow burn I enjoy. Also Hana's route in Pale Carnations is quite a slow burn too and I am really enjoying it.
