About the project:

Since nobody stepped out to start working on the translation, I decided to work on it myself and here's what I managed to put together for now. As I stated before, this project is way too large for me, so I'm not going to finish it. Like, it's pretty much imposible for one person, but if you help me out, we can get as far as possible.

Currently we're looking forDescription
Quality CheckerJust anybody here can do it. I'm not a native English speaker myself, so there is most likely a lot of typos and bad English in the translation. Especially all the names seems to be intentional tongue-twisters, so while I did my best to transcribe them, if you have a better idea how to write them while keeping the pronunciation, let me know in the thread. But also please understand, that the space in the columns is limited and many times I had to be creative to actually cram it there.
Actual Translator(s)Even with all time in the world and everything working as should, all I'm going to do is to translate the images (that means the UI) and maybe my favorite parts of the story. But this game is great and the whole story deserves to be translated, so if you want to help out, you are welcomed, even if you do just a small part for fun.
Image EditorCurrently, I can manage and most of the hard background images are done, however, if I disappear somewhere, most other translators will need help with editing of what's left. I have used the "Impact" font in the title and "Microsoft YaHei font family" for the rest of the game. Also the game main logo is still untranslated, so if anybody wants to play with it, go for it. :)

You can download the patch .

Also since the translation version 0.2 the patch also contains the "Black Conqueror.exe" file, which is the original "黒の征服王.exe" file with two lines translated using . It's an unnatural file, so your Windows or antivirus will most likely recognize it as dangerous.

I'm sure it's save, since I made it, but if you don't trust me, you can keep using the original "黒の征服王.exe" file. It will work the same, only when closing the window, the question will stay in Japanese or gibberish.

+++1 This is way better than playing it without translation! atleast now you know what some buttons do instead of constantly using google lens or guessing/memorizing. Gonna keep an eye on this

You can extract the .dat file using ONscripter tools and then just delete the .dat file and replace it with the resulting .txt file renamed to 0.txt. As far as I can tell you have to manually insert / to prevent text from overflowing. You also have to start non dialogue text with > in the script to prevent it from reading the english text as an attempted command. The engine also seems to eat spaces randomly, maybe there is an alternative character that could be used?

Here is the decrypted script file. Delete the .dat file in your directory and replace it with this to have an editable version of the script. I'm not sure if this contains all of the dialogue in the game, but it does at least include the prologue. I translated a bit of the prologue just using google translate to see what the text issues would be. The first dialogue worked fine but to get the non dialogue narration to display I had to put > characters in front of it. Another issue is that the game appears to randomly eat spaces, I tried using Japanese spaces and various other workarounds like half spaces, but I did not find a workaround for this. Pretty sure one is out there though. Currently the game will crash at the first dialogue with a named character. It seems to expect a number if the dialogue is translated into english, but having just one japanese character in front of it seems to fix it.

Okay, so using your advice as an example I've figured out that there are two versions of the script. The first one is stored in the "00.ns2" and is divided into one hundred parts (from "00.txt" up to "99.txt"). The other one (slightly bigger) is in the "nscript.dat", that you extracted as just one file, "0.txt".

The problem is that both versions are wrong and are not behaving correctly as I said before.

Compare the map with the "nscript.dat" file present (the first one), and the map with using the extracted filles. I had the same issue when using the scripts from the "00.ns2" file (the second one).

I also share a save file, so you can test it.

EDIT: I'm trying to say that when you test the save file with an unmodded version, it will behave differently than when you use the same save file with the extracted script, even if you just extract it and won't change it.

I think the problem might just be that the version I had on my drive is a bit old. The save load function seems to be handled as a dialouge thing instead of two buttons. I have ver 1.03. And I am pretty sure the newer versions made system edits.

Yeah, that's right, that's why I said this translation is meant for the game version 3.25.

I tried to extract the "nscript.dat" file myself, but failed. How exactly are you supposed to do it using that ONscripter tool?

1. Put nscdec.exe into the folder with the .dat file
2. open command line and change directories to the address of the folder, eg 'cd C:\Users\you\Downloads\RJ01080136'
3. run the command 'nscdec nscript.dat' in command line

I see, so that was my mistake, I was using onscripter-en.exe instead.

Well, I managed to find the tool , but those source codes aren't executable and there is no realease yet. I guess you had to compile it yourself? Could you share the "nscdec.exe", "nscmake.exe" and "ns2make.exe" files, so I can make a proper patch next time?

New version released!

This new version contains except the new caption also translation of all skills and unit type descriptions. (see below)

image.png

Also thanks to AKAK I was able to create a proper patch, so you have to remove the previous patch (the "img_sys" directory), to make it work properly.

As long as you have played it with the game version 3.25, it should be save compatible.

Hey guys, I need a help with the part I'm translating right now.

image.png

In the "List of lovers" you can see this "Feelings" column, which basically shows your progress with every individual character based on their sex count and sometimes also on other values.

The thing is, that this translation isn't exactly right, because the original 心情 (Shinjou) means either the inner feelings or the state of mind.

Depending on the point of view, I can either translate them all as "Feelings", which would shift the meaning of the words towards how the girl feels right now;

Or I can rename the whole column to "Status" and translate the words in that regard.

Here are the options:

心情 (Shinjou)FeelingsStatus
絶望 (Zetsubou)
gloom
gloom
恐怖 (Kyoufu)
fear
afraid
嫌悪 (Ken'o)
hate
vile
諦観 (Teikan)
void
broken
従順 (Juujun)
regard
docile
隷属 (Reizoku)
respect
slave
依存 (Izon)
esteem
loyal
享楽 (Kyouraku)
delight
joyous
好意 (Kōi)
crush
crush
恋慕 (Renbo)
passion
fling
愛 (Ai)
love
love
死亡 (Shibou)
dead
dead

Note that the space inside the column is limited, so I had to be VERY creative. Any word wider than "passion" won't fit in there!

In some cases, the left column is more accurate, and in the other cases it's the right column.

Which one should I choose?

Do you have any better idea?

Thanks.

So, if I get this right "心情" can roughly translate to "self perception"? I think "outlook" might be a better compact word to convey 心情 if so. "Feelings" feels (heh) too temporary while "status" brings to mind body condition(s) or a person's place in society

You can find the official translation , though from my personal experience (how I understand the word), it's pretty much temporary thing (can change over time).

It's basically how you feel about something or someone, but it also includes things like social status, because for example if your friend become your boss at work, it inevitably changes how you feel about them.

It's something in those lines.

I see, so my しんじょうfor you would be impressed and also your kohai in learning Japanese. What a difficult word to translate, if it was just the former feelings would work and relation applying in the case of the later. Combined though I'm at a loss, connection maybe?
I think I'm too much of an EOP to be of help, sorry.

Well, that's why I said we have to be creative about that. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just have to work well for this specific case.

I'll write the table again, this time explaining the idea of the words in this specific context, so we can possibly find another solution.

You don't have to necessarily suggest short words this time, I can shorten them in the next step.

心情 (Shinjou)how she feels about the main character right now
絶望 (Zetsubou)
she is unhappy about her failure, but she doesn't consider the fact that he locked her in prison as something she should take personally
恐怖 (Kyoufu)
she is scared of the main character, because she has no idea what he can do to her
嫌悪 (Ken'o)
she hates the main character to the point of disgust
諦観 (Teikan)
the main character made her give up about her situation and now she tries to not think about anything
従順 (Juujun)
she has accepted her fate and now she simply follows the main character's orders without showing much defiance
隷属 (Reizoku)
it has become the second nature for her to follow the main character's orders
依存 (Izon)
she has developed attachment to the main character and personally wants to follow his whims
享楽 (Kyouraku)
she is genuinely happy to be with the main character and feels physical pleasure just from his presence
好意 (Kōi)
she has obvious crush on the main character, but hasn't expressed her feelings yet
恋慕 (Renbo)
she has a fling with the main character, but her feelings for him may not be too deep yet
愛 (Ai)
she is in love with the main character with all her heart
死亡 (Shibou)
she has died in an event or through another condition being met

If you compare it with the previous table, there are obvios choices like 絶望 (Zetsubou) being "gloom", 愛 (Ai) being "love" or 死亡 (Shibou) being "dead", but you can translate the others differently depending on the category name.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the explanation table, it helps a lot to better understand the issues you're facing. I probably should've ran those kanji through a translator and gotten a better understanding myself of what was attempting to be conveyed before opening my mouth the first time. Too bad I'm lazy.
My main thoughts are still on shinjou, it has become apparent that rather than trying to find an English word that translates the term best we'd be better served using a more vague term that will allow flexibility for translating its variables. Right now I'm thinking of Thoughts, Mentality, Mindset, and Personality.

絶望 (Zetsubou)
sad, regret
恐怖 (Kyoufu)
terror
嫌悪 (Ken'o)
disgust, disdain, repulsed
諦観 (Teikan)
resigned
従順 (Juujun)
tamed
隷属 (Reizoku)
follower
依存 (Izon)
lackey
享楽 (Kyouraku)
affectionate, pleased
好意 (Kōi)
interest
恋慕 (Renbo)
I got nothing
愛 (Ai)
devoted
死亡 (Shibou)
dead
After looking at my, stolen and edited, table I think mentality or mindset would work best.

Thanks for the explanation table, ...
To keep things short, I deteled the long explanation I was writing, and I simply write another table showing some of your words, some of my words, and some new words, which are the result of the inspiration I've got from you.

心情 (Shinjou)Attitude
絶望 (Zetsubou)
regret
恐怖 (Kyoufu)
terror
嫌悪 (Ken'o)
disdain
諦観 (Teikan)
apathy
従順 (Juujun)
docile
隷属 (Reizoku)
slave
依存 (Izon)
clingy
享楽 (Kyouraku)
lewd
好意 (Kōi)
crush
恋慕 (Renbo)
fling
愛 (Ai)
love
死亡 (Shibou)
dead

About the context I think it's important to say, that the "attitude" in this game change only by having sex with the character and all of them lead to 享楽 (Kyouraku), which is basically the moment, when you've fucked her brain out and it doesn't matter, if the path to it was love or rape.

You can see all the paths here:

image.png

I'm still unsatisfied with it though. How do you feel about it like that? What sounds good, what sounds OK and what is obviously wrong?

I know that feel very well. I swear, for every word posted there're fifteen deleted and somewhere along the way I myself forget the point I was trying to get across.

First, "attitude" is another good contender for shinjou. For Kyouraku, given this new context, I now understand that it's the "clear" of a given character. This is an eroge so chances are good "lewd" works splendidly, but I haven't played it so I can't say if that's the case here. Would we be going too far into hack localizer territory by using Clear/Complete/Finished instead? Probably.

I'm still unsatisfied with it though. How do you feel about it like that? What sounds good, what sounds OK and what is obviously wrong?
Lemme just steal your table again, it seemed to work well last time.

心情 (Shinjou)Attitude
絶望 (Zetsubou)
regret: I like it, but that is due to my context being "she is unhappy about her failure". Here "regret" matches better than "gloom" imo, but I don't know if the same would apply in other character(s)'s context.
恐怖 (Kyoufu)
terror: Works just as well as your fear or afraid, really I only offered it to expand your options. Mainly a question of what you decide to use for shinjou and which of the three would better fit.
嫌悪 (Ken'o)
disdain: My least favorite of the three I suggested, the main issue being that "disdain" typically implies that the person feeling it sees themselves in a higher position than the person they are disdaining. If I'm reading the kanji correctly in your image (probably not lmao), then ten of the characters use the potential "route". I doubt that all ten of these girls see themselves as the MCs better.
諦観 (Teikan)
apathy: I dislike this one because it can imply that a person is apathetic in general, rather than being broken down into becoming apathetic. This, again, is coming from my context being "the main character made her give up about her situation and now she tries to not think about anything".
従順 (Juujun)
docile: I really didn't like this one before when given the context of "she has accepted her fate and now she simply follows the main character's orders without showing much defiance" because it felt more like describing a personality trait rather than her state of being "tamed". However, after giving it some thought I figure that a player will have the context needed to correctly associate the intention that "docile" implies here. Same probably applies to "apathy" above too.
隷属 (Reizoku)
slave: So, like, I am absolutely not one of those people who are opposed to using the word "slave". But I do believe in using it correctly. I'm iffy here as I don't know the context(wow that word is coming up a lot). Are the character(s) enslaved to the MC in one way or another? I dunno, I'll leave it to you and much, much, greater context(there it is again) you have.
依存 (Izon)
clingy: My context; "she has developed attachment to the main character and personally wants to follow his whims". Your "clingy" applies well for the first half of said context, while my lackey focuses more on the latter half. Kinda an either or situation.
享楽 (Kyouraku)
lewd: See above this table
好意 (Kōi)
crush: Works well. I only offered "interest" to expand your options.
恋慕 (Renbo)
fling: Again, I got nothing.
愛 (Ai)
love: Works, probably better than devoted.
死亡 (Shibou)
dead: Yeah, I don't think anything else would work. Not unless you wanna go hard shitposter and use "F" or "RIP".
