Hello,

I recently purchased a dlsite game. It's from 2017 and it has been challenging getting it up and running. I've download a local Japanese language packet, unpacked the files, had to rename the install file and folder file to get it to install. Now that it is, and the executable file has been unpacked, when I go to lunch the game, a blue code screen launches, along with a tiny screen that looks like a music player with a play arrow, +-, and something zig zag option. Nothing works. Anyone recognize this and can help?

So after having already downloaded the language pack and tried changing my region to Japan, the blue screen image I provided in my first post is the same result. Does anyone have a possible third party software option?

Was the game in a zip that you extracted when you didn't have japanese locale? If so, you need to extract it again. Also, the path should have simple alphabet (You can quickly test it by having it on C:/)

Also, for what it's worth as another alternative, I did some further investigating on this, and a Redditor mentioned the following utility zip/unpacking tool can help unzip the file properly because, for one reason or another, Japanese Zip files don't always unpack correctly on wester systems .

GitHub Source for the third-party extraction/unzipper tool ( )

bandizip works fine with these problem archives for years now. Open bandizip, drag+drop/ open the archive in question, the worldmap icon will let you choose language/ encoding (greyed out = is in unicode/UTF), after you chose Japanese (Korean etc.) unzip and all is well.

Unless someone unzipped it into unreadable state (mojibakke) before, and then repackaged that - then it is FUBAR. nothing can be done but finding a different download.
(I used to have such occasionally when my main source for anything was ed2k)

(hehehe, Pizzicato 5, have not listenend to that in a while ...)
