I agree with your thoughts, this thread has gotten pretty wild.wow you guys really turned on the dev. what was once all glorious praises, now complains without anything happening.
but maybe that's the reason, nothing's happening lol
well remember, we here receive these content for free, so tbf we have the least amount of right to complain.
the dev is enjoying his $ over at patreon, and I read he's posting actively there.
so if that's where he's comfortable, (ofc anyone would) then let him be.
he has no responsibility towards us free users.
however, hearing about the remaster, i'm 50/50 on that.
since i'm also dipping my toes on AI, let me share with you some possible reasoning
despite what public thinks, to create quality AI content, it's not just type in prompt and click generate.
the AI creation workflows these days has also become a supply chain:
tools, extensions, checkpoints, loras, embeddings, etc.
it is a possibility if a dev envisions bunch of scenes that the current model is unable to do easily/fast, he might need to switch.
once you switch models, loras might not be compatible, or even the extensions you have installed.
it really depends on the dev's workflow, but e.g. you switch to SDXL and it still doesn't have proper ControlNet models at the time.
and, dont quote me on this, i remember hearing dev made a lora for the fmc, which might need to be redone? idk
understand it's not hand-drawn like, "just draw what you envision", nor is it "click-generate".
there is a possibility the whole workflow changed.
but thats the secondary point. the primary point is the reason why in the first place, that the current workflow the dev has is unable to do the scenes you envision. so it's possibly not "on a whim". is what i'd like you guys to open your perspective to.
ofc idk the reality of the situation back there. just want to open some eyes of possibilities.
The only people who really have anything to complain about are those that gave the Dev money. Everyone who played this for free needs to calm down. It's just a game, of which there are many on this site so go play one of those and come back later.
Now I do understand the anger, I'm also 50/50 on the remaster. On one hand I can understand wanting all the art to match and switching to new tools messes that up.
BUT you remaster after you've completed the story. The majority of people who will play this game have already started playing it and are waiting for the story to continue.
This game has been out for some time now, I know I have no interest in the remaster. I don't care that the art won't match going forward because I'm not going to go back and play the story I've already covered.
And I think quite a lot of people in this thread might feel this way.
Should have just continued on with the story and put a disclaimer saying the art will change due to new tools for the small amount of new players that might stumble upon the game.
But in the end it's not up to me or anyone, the Dev can do what he wants with the game. Whenever the new update comes out with more story I'll be right there.
I ain't giving the Dev money ....maybe when it's complete.
