this is exactly right and why i get so mad when people blame the community for toxicity. taking peoples money and making it sound like the update was right around the corner was so scummy. even if the update does come out and is good, i'm not giving this dev another dime. it was just so disrespectful

I meant, like, something tangible from the developer that would suggest a shift towards actual NTR. Saying that NTR is going to take over an NTS game just because there are a bunch of people in the threads/comments saying they want it to happen is a bit of a stretch. Pretty much every NTS game (e.g. Netorase Phone, much more so than BtW) has a chorus of NTR fans invading and begging the dev to have their way. I fight against them all the time. While some devs have definitely caved, I'd like to see some actual indication that Tori is shifting away from NTS and towards NTR before making assumptions.
To act like the toxicity solely comes from the dev's poor communication and mistakes and not including the part the "fanbase" plays is in that is absurd. Scroll through the last 40 pages, read how bad some of the commenters get, and tell me that isn't contributing to the toxicity present in the community. You could not do so in good faith, and I am confident in that. I don't take the blame off Tori in any way as I think there's plenty of mistakes that have been made. Despite that, I feel bad for devs that have to suffer through the deluge of negativity; to act like commenters are entirely justified a result, no matter how horrible they are, is wrong.

You're right, you didn't say that verbatim, but the emphasis added to your message makes the implication clear: anger at those blaming the community, then discussing the dev's mistakes, thus attributing the toxicity to the dev. Am I wrong?

i cant imagine dev will abandon a game that was not only doing good when releases where on a regular basis, but that had and still has the chance to keep growing and improving. So, i will stay positive and lets hope for the best after this rework release

I am genuinely excited for the remaster. I know there is a lot of hate but that's just cause people care that much.
Even if it's a remaster I feel a lot of the old scenes will have changed enough visually or they are completely reworked narratively we can enjoy them again as if they are new.
For me at least I think it'll feel like getting 5-6 months worth of new stuff all at once.

The other post it sounded like Tori was planning / hoping to release the remaster before or on the 14th. Now it seems like it's another 'detailed update' post?
Anyways, I hope that post is more concrete in it's update. And personally I've very excited for the remaster. It sounds like there will be a lot of changes, including the branching path system from the beginning. So, we might get alternate versions of existing scenes for different paths...?

tori is incapable of giving a straight-ahead answer, so instead you have to read between the lines like a WWII codebreaker
the first update said "i'm traveling on the 14th and will be gone for a full week after. i MIGHT finish the update before then and release it..." and anyone who has followed this dev knows that when he says "i might be able to..." or "i'm aiming to..." it means it's not happening. this post is foreshadowing for a delay post
today's "just a quick check-in" update is the actual delay announcement. "yea the 14th ain't happening, i'll finish the update when i get back" is what he's saying here
so this means: remaster will not drop before the 14th, he will be gone for a week after that, which means AT BEST he will come back in late november, and even then, he will still have more work to do before the remaster is done

There is actually no way hes taking this to december. Again, for the 74858th time, why couldnt he have just released the NEW content before dipping for over SIX MONTHS to remaster the game

because the new content is still not finished yet, my guess is that the dev struggle to make the 0.6 update, then he decided to make a remaster as an excuse for the delay, because if he had finished the 0.6 update he should be able to release 0.6 first before the remaster, or at least release it at the same time as the remaster, but nope, from his word it indicate that remaster and 0.6 will be seperated
