Ren'Py - Boring Life [v0.2a] [Schlop]

I must say, the first time I saw the character models in this game, I was instantly blown away. I even thought it could easily hold its own against the hit title Heart Problems, because the character modeling is truly breathtaking. However, after downloading and playing it, I was deeply disappointed. It's nothing more than a tedious sandbox game—players are forced to endure repetitive, dull content. Frankly, the sandbox mechanics completely ruin these exquisite models.

Great animations and dialogue. Maybe not the most original story but at the end of the day I think it's more important to have consistent and lifelike characters. Excited to see where this goes. Progresses at a pace that keeps your attention, UI and other facets of the game are well-designed and appealing.

✅ Strengths

1. Visual ambition and added content – Over 400 new renders and animations show that the developer is investing real effort into presentation and polish.
2. New gameplay variety – The addition of minigames and a functioning store system gives players something to do, helping offset the intentionally “boring” premise.
3. Bug fixes and polish – The developer clearly prioritizes improving stability and performance.
4. Multi-platform support – Runs across major operating systems, including mobile.
5. Slice-of-life tone – The mundane premise actually works as a grounded “everyday life” story, which can appeal to players who enjoy slow-paced, character-driven experiences.

⚠ Weak Points / Cautions

1. Early-stage content – The dev notes that much of the planned work isn’t visible yet; new characters and locations are coming in future updates. This version might feel short or incomplete.
2. Save compatibility – Old saves from previous versions can cause crashes, and the dev recommends starting a new game. That’s inconvenient for returning players.
3. Narrative depth – The story is still basic; worldbuilding and character arcs feel limited at this stage. Don’t expect a deep RPG-style experience yet.
4. Technical rough edges – It’s still an alpha (v0.2a), so expect occasional bugs or missing polish.

The models are the only good thing about this "game".

This is the type of game that make make people hate sandboxes, when you have 15 minute of content stretched to 2 hours.

The in-game guide is a joke, and when you have a sandbox with days and time of day you expect some predictability, for example I would expect the "land-lady" to make breakfast every morning, yet she does it only Saturday morning or something like that.

Also there is no story, back story or anything actual growth, you don't loose to much of the plot by just watching the gallery, because there is no much plot to begin with.

Hard pass.

extra grindy with very little content. The only way to make money is a terrible mini game. Maybe this is one to come back to in a couple years when there is an actual sex scene, but probably not. Play this game if you enjoy being frustrated.

"Boring Life" is a fun game with great protential!

• MC seem to has good personality because he didn't rap3 Kayla when she drunk but take care of her, and cares about other's feeling.

"Boring" pretty much defines it. Generic, tsundere sister and mom who can't get you off her mind once she sees you jacking it in the first 5 minutes. 0-60 in nothing flat. Exaggerated, unbelievable body parts and completely boring, nonsensical interactions with NPCs, when you're actually allowed to do that. You get to - gasp - feel up mom in bed at night right from the get-go. <sarcasm>That's never been done in a game like this before.</sarcasm>

And bugs galore. Game asks you to name characters, then ignores the names you give all over the place. If you do a lot of moving around trying to find something to do, you'll run into crashes when the game can't figure out what to do next.

Why can't these types of games ever come up with some new storyline, or at least have some kind of character development beyond "is it time, yet?" smh

The girls’ designs are quite good; I like all of them, even those who aren’t part of the family. The story is simple, but I enjoy the scenes . I hope to see the game progress further with more scenes and greater variety. In the end, what really matters is how good they look and how immersive the scenes feel.

While the graphics are nice, there really isn't too much to this "game" if you want to call it that. It's sandbox so you grind through different moments with each of the occupants and then it says, "No more Content". I was hopeful that this update would be good and there would have been "more" content and there just wasn't, I don't know what the developer has been doing for the past 6 months but it wasn't working on this game.

Pretty boilerplate "roommate" story with attractive models. I like that the town scope isn't huge and the dev isn't trying to add too many obvious sidepieces outside of the main 3/4 characters. But that one animation in the demo build is very very impressive, moneyshot included. Last update here is from May, however, which may not bode well for the game/dev.

Pros:

• Visually Appealing Character Models: The character models are nicely designed and contribute positively to the overall aesthetic.
• Decent Animation: The one animation currently in the game is well-executed and doesn't detract from the gameplay experience.

Cons:

• Predictable and Overused Plot: The storyline relies on familiar tropes common in many new porn games and from less experienced developers. Don't expect any groundbreaking narrative twists anytime soon. Not much substance lets see what future updates may bring.
• Poor Navigation and Lack of Guidance: The game sorely needs a better guidance system. While an in-game phone supposedly acts as a menu and guide, it's empty and contains no information. For example, immediately after speaking with the sister before unlocking the school, I spent an excessive amount of time—nearly 20 minutes—simply trying to figure out where to go next, clicking aimlessly on the screen. This lack of clear direction can be incredibly frustrating.

For now we have a build that is light in content, however every single girl is absolutely beautiful and I really can't wait to see more content with each of them. Which is rare I usually just like a couple of girls and don't care for the rest.
The renders are very well done too, the UI is well done and the world is easy to navigate.
The quest log might be a bit buggy though so it might need some work
I am giving 5 stars because I like everything I saw and hope for more.

Yes the gameplay needs fixing , its too time consuming to check every room every single time and even then you have to wait multiple days at some points to progress , however the models and art are simply perfect in my opinion , perfect porportions with variety and beutiful faces. Also not every game has to have a deep story , this is a good game to chill.Fix the gameplay and its amazing

After perhaps sticking with it far too long I just got bored and quit. It's far too difficult to figure out how to advance the story, even with an in-game "guide" app on the MC's phone. Perhaps with more development time (currently only v0.1) the game will be more interesting but right now it's a sandbox game that just doesn't have much sand to play in. And while the renders are decent, the over-the-top body shapes just puts the game in a "meh" category for me. That and the current conversations/writing are about as simple, brief, and dull as they can get for a VN.
