VN - Ren'Py - Boundaries of Morality [v0.350] [Novel]

tl&dr: Absolutely give this game a shot if you're ok with NTR (or enjoy it), the art alone is top tier.

Ok, so longer review of this early (v 0.350)

Art: 5/5 - top tier professional-level artwork. Just stunning. Its AI but it is AI of someone who took the time to use it properly, as a tool, not a make-easy button. The characters are consistent, the art style is consistent and fantastic, the animations are smooth, the post-production effects are just fire.

Choices: 5/5 - still early, and there aren't choices every five seconds... but (1) there are choices that actually feel meaningful (not just click-here-for-sex) and (2) the choices feel like they fight each other instead of just raising bars until an event can happen.

Characters: 4/5 - First off all the characters feel great, unique, and very realistic. The only kinda fly in the ointment is Tyler, the mc's husband... So he's realistic. I've absolutely known people like him. This is established in the first few frames so not spoiler - the guy is kind of the textbook example of abusive / toxic within his own relationships while seeming nice outside of it. Just.. cringy.. where you can almost feel the mc shrink down around him trying to fawn / appease him as he emotionally abuses her. And I don't mean in a sexy D/s 'I am Dominant' sort of way. And its realistic but I can't enjoy any of the sex scenes with the mc and him because all I want is to take a swing at the guy. Don't get me wrong, not white-knighting an AI game character, totally down for her to be sexually assaulted / abused by her boss, or in a back alley, that's hot This doesn't feel like that. Anyway, bright side, he is well-written (it makses sense, the authors understand this kind of personality) and it makes it Super easy to understand why she'd cheat on him the first chance she got (without going into the whole 'every guy who gets cheated on has a micro penis).

Husband aside, all the other characters seem amazing, long as I can tune him out. Both members of the couple next door are super hot, eager for mc to get with both. The bosses (at both workplaces) seems properly dommy and abusive and I can't wait them both playing out with the female staff). And the women each seem unique, with their own emerging stories and motivations, and very curious about each of them - hope the paths don't force multiple playthroughs to see the all in fun situations.

Story 5?/5 - as of this version its still shaping up so not sure where it will go. But I am intrigued enough to find out.

Great game, interesting characters (especially Emma interesting story, the scene with Justin outside the bar was brilliant and I definitely can't wait to see more stuff like that, also going to be interesting to see where things go with Emma's new boss

I was surprised to play the game ! Wow Emma is so gorgeous. The animations are excellent. The story itself so good. The suspense is wonderful. Thought it's the beginning but it's on of the best games I had ever played. Hope it will focus on the Emma and her adventures with men and boys. I wish success to the developer.

Relatively standard fare wife corruption game, but extra points for good pacing, solid narrative depth without being needlessly verbose, and nice artwork.

It's your pretty common VN but doesn't give you too much of a day-to-day slog so not too click-intensive

The game quality is significantly lower than previous games. Visuals are unconsistent and have uncanny valley effect. Story dosen't makes much sense. Main character is not sympatetic or interesting in any way.

AI is getting crazy.

This game has animation that is astonishingly smooth and lifelike, it's almost photorealistic.

And yet, you don't get the creepy uncanny valley effect thanks to the excellent camera angles and model direction.

The story puts you in control of a newlywed couple with the husband and wife both getting options to cheat or stay faithful. It's taking things slowly for now but there are still plenty of hot scenes.

Despite the overdone scenario, I can't recommend this game enough. The characters are all interesting and the graphics are on another level.

Great game all around. Nothing much to say. A female protagonist corruption game done correctly in every possible way. Let's hope that the developer keeps the same quality and momentum going forward. Godspeed.

This game definetely has got some potential. A lot of people recommended me this game, but after playing it, I am very skeptical whether this game is ever gonna reach its full potential. This is because story progression is rather fast imho and if you are a reality freak, you wont just like it. Still give it a try and support the dev if you like it. Moreover, it has sexy AI animations if that is your thing.

The bad
The boss asking for a skirt lift was just not anything close to normal in real life and even with porn logic was a huge leap to take. Several folks that I asked to look at this due to the graphics were immediately no go with the game from the opening scened (all females) who love games with fmc. And then throughout the game there were multiple areas that language was a bit off, as well as points where there should have been a choice - ie the mc not being able to choose what to say to her husband about the car event and she just automatically says something off putting to him.
So far a decent start but I hope they will reevaluate the opening scene and fix that. This will drive your female fans away from the game

The second part of the prologue did a good job. Hope to continue to see 3-4 paths supported in the game

This is a fascinating entry into the corruption genre, with gorgeous renders, a likeable female protagonist, and very good animations (all of which are done through AI).
The game also keeps track of different variables for the main character, which opens up the story's development in unique ways and makes it stand out from other games.
Furthermore, the AI animations don't come across as cheap, or lazily put together. Instead, it adds a level of immersion and photorealism that I truly appreciated.
Even though this is the first release, things escalate quite quickly, and it makes me hopeful that it won't be a "slow burn" type of game which would take years to pay off.
It also helps that the "husband" is not a sad sack of shit, but rather, a guy with self-respect who's not afraid to call out his wife's selfish and morally-dubious behavior.
Overall, I'm very impressed with the writing, the visuals, the overall presentation (with detailed character and quest tracking), and the level of progress, this early on.
If you're looking for a game that may show the way forward in terms of adult VNs and AI usage, this might be it. I just hope the developer continues on the right track.
So check it out - you won't be disappointed.

nice game. i love tone. please keep update fast. developer use some kind ai motion technology and it is easier then render big files. l like crorruption games. and it doesnt start so low. it is logically ok

This game is absolutely incredible! The graphics are stunning, the gameplay is smooth, and the story keeps you hooked from start to finish. The attention to detail is unmatched, and it's clear a lot of passion went into making this.

One of the best games lately, if not the best. It has great animations, so far good story telling and potential to have multiple story lines. I enjoy the main character visuals. I hope this project goes on!

The graphics are next-level. Emma’s design is breathtaking, and those animations? 10/10, they bring every scene to life with some seriously hot vibes! The story hits hard right from the start. The choices feel meaningful, and I love that the husband might have his own spicy path too — adds such a cool twist!

Always reluctant to give a review of a brand new VN. Oftentimes it is not a fair representation of what the VN may be several updates later. Generally, they improve over time as the Dev's skill increases and the story plays out. Sometimes they fall off an abyss. Regardless, I decided to give this one a rating because of its impressive start and to encourage the Dev.

To be inarticulate - this is some next level shit right here. The use of AI and normal renders is, overall, sublime. It adds an immersion quality rarely seen in most games. The animation is movie like in its quality. While there were instances when the transitions didn't quite mesh, I'm sure that will improve over time. Overall, however, it was very impressive. If this is the next generation of VN, sign me up.

The FMC is nothing short of smoking hot. Yes, it is subjective, but Good Lord...she is breathtaking. She reminded me of a combination of two fine looking actresses. Their names escape me at the moment, but damn! While generally more measured when viewing these games - with her, all I could think of was all the nasty things I want to see her do or have someone do to her.

This is a corruption game and looks like there will be elements of netorare if you so choose. All good in my book. There is a point system that seems pretty straight forward. Hopefully, the game will not become overly complex to navigate as a result. The themes are nothing novel, but it is always in the details. So far, the Dev is nailing the details.

There appears to be the kernels of a few story arcs in Boundaries. Some revolve around, what I am guessing, are potential partners for the FMC. It looks like the Husband may also have some options. There does not seem to be any evidence of cuck, so far. By that I mean the Hubby getting off on seeing his wife get plowed by another. Indeed, you get the sense that he would NOT be down with that, at least from this initial release.

The English is adequate. There are a few oddly phrased sentences and word usage that give pause. Nothing truly horrible, but there, nonetheless. Yes, there is porn logic, but it skirts the outer ring of plausibility. Opinions may differ, but I didn't find it too ridiculous.

Ok, so four stars for an initial release. I may change this rating at a later stage to a five if the quality remains the same. Cutting edge animation. Excellent renders/use of AI. A complete bombshell of an FMC - with one of the best asses ever rendered. The beginnings of several paths. My only concern is the Dev creating to many storylines that the game implodes in development. The Dev does have a track record of completed VNs, so he may know what he is doing. Anyhow, try it out if you like the tags. This may become one of the best of the corruption/cheat genre.

For me it's a very promising start.

Graphics and animations are great, but, as mentioned below, the use of AI for animations should be in the tags.
(There's also a bit too much of it)

I think the female protagonist is portrayed fairly well (Dev asked to give our
opinion on this). It's good that we have choices to shape her personality.

I played the first game of this dev and really liked it. The second game I never got to finish for some reason.

I absolutely love the game.

It is one of those game that actually gives you some choices that seems impactful enough, though whether or not it will just be another "Choose this to get a scene or not get a scene" remains to be seen, but so far the writing is fairly great. I love how organic it felt as you play the game. It's not like you are railroaded into a certain path.

The biggest qualm I have is how long the "cinematic" are, and if I tried to skip, I skip most of everything.

Certainly have big hope for this game.

Review of Version 0.31

This is a good effort. I like the MC in the static renders. She is attractive and also has realistic body proportions. She looks relatable and it was fun playing from her POV.

The story is interesting. Yes, there is corruption form a pushy boss, but the FMC does have agency, she can pick and choose where to go. She can rebuff the boss and flirt with the biker neighbor, it is not just a binary choice.

However, there are also two negatives for which I remove a star each:
1.) Use of AI for the animations
2.) Not disclosing use of AI in your tags and intro text.

I am not going to assume bad intentions for not disclosing the use of AI, but please understand that this is a problem: Without that disclosure people will only realize this after the download of reading comments. The actual implementation of AI is not even that bad, good enough to be willing to come back to this after an update. The character consistency in the AI sequences is not terrible. That said, for someone who can produce original art in form of static renders as well as the developer does, relying on AI to make animations feels like a cheap shortcut that some may find off-putting. To me this feels like watching a movie with and interesting story and a mix of well-made practical effects supplemented by cheap low-quality CGI.

That said, the overall impression is still positive. Please keep going at your project, Novel. I wish you success with your future updates.
