Ren'Py - Boundaries of Morality [v0.600] [Novel]

Amazing game. The story hooks you right from the start, the pacing is spot-on, and nothing feels forced. The characters are genuinely interesting and add a ton of depth. Hopefully they keep the story moving at this steady pace, without rushing things or making it feel unrealistic. And the cherry on top: buttery-smooth 60 FPS. You’ve got my 5 stars!

I’ve been wondering when I’d finally see my first VN or adult game that actually manages to combine both classic rendering and AI-generated visuals in a clever way. Well, here it is. If you haven’t come across another project doing this yet, this one’s your premiere. I’m genuinely impressed by how good the output of the trained AI looks - probably trained with custom renders made specifically for this game. It’s not perfect, of course, but definitely impressive.

One thing’s for sure: the images and animations are top-tier. The erotic scenes and animations are very well made, though I couldn’t find any option to make them loop, which is a bit of a shame.

Music and sound effects are present, but nothing that stands out much. The moaning sounds were a little too quiet, and I had to adjust the volume settings manually to make them more audible.

Now for the story and its execution through a sandbox system. In my opinion, that was a poor design choice. What could have been a great story loses much of its momentum and cohesion because of it. A sandbox structure disrupts the narrative flow and prevents the experience from feeling like one unified story. Sure, such a system has its advantages: it allows you to separate kinks from the main plot and add more complex gameplay mechanics - and that clearly seems to be the goal here. But so far, the execution doesn’t fully convince me.

As for the story itself: our heroine and her husband move to a new area and struggle to make ends meet. Her husband’s income isn’t enough, so she has to start working as well. She begins as a secretary in a morally grey workplace full of shady superiors who are at least as interested in satisfying their urges as doing their jobs. But temptation lurks everywhere, not just at work. The player controls the decisions of both the female MC and her husband, guiding how their relationship and choices unfold.

The character development could use more depth, especially for the female lead - she still feels a bit too flat to fully connect with emotionally.

Visually, the game easily boosts its overall score, even though the rest of the package doesn’t quite reach that standard yet. The story and characters are average for now; the concept is promising but not convincingly executed, and while the background plot is interesting, it’s still way too early for a final judgment. The English and writing are solid (from a non-native’s point of view), and the storytelling is neither especially good nor bad. There are still a few missing renders in this version, but those will likely be added later.

All in all, I’ll definitely keep following this one. The potential is clear, and the visual presentation alone makes it stand out from the crowd, but the rest still needs to catch up. For now, I’m giving it 4 stars.

Overall, an interesting review. This is definitely not my kind of novel. The title should suggest that the main character is in a more subservient position. That's fine, but I don't really like her husband's behavior. Also, from a technical standpoint, I would prefer other novels of a higher caliber. A helpful note for others: it seems many see it differently and therefore rate it 4-5 stars, but not me. I rate this game 1 out of 5 stars.

This is by far the best game of all time. The art, the dialogue, the different characters and their contrasts, the plot is captivating, and I'm already questioning the main character's actions. Perhaps someone will improve the animation over time, but for now, it's the best of the best. I've been following games for several years, playing them, observing their development. I have something objective to compare it to. Ultimately, this is my verdict.

Игра ничем не примечательна. Стандартная пошаговая игра на Ren'Py с огромным разнообразием вариантов выбора и путей, но в конечном итоге сводится к нажатию кнопок: выбрать то или это. Неплохо, но определённо не инновационно. Не спасает и то, что этот разработчик, по сути, выпускает одну и ту же игру, просто с разными нюансами, так что если вы играли в одну, то, по сути, играли во все.
Сюжет тоже не особо впечатляет. Есть злодей; тебя отмечают непристойной эмблемой, а потом ты находишь способ решить его проблемы. Есть коррупция, довольно однообразная и однообразная, и с ней можно взаимодействовать сколько угодно или избегать. Не моя любимая механика коррупции, но она меня не смущает, несмотря на гринд.
Анимационные сцены хороши, но часто повторяются, и есть некоторые изменения, например, в одежде (если честно, то в основном только в одежде). Графика, безусловно, потрясающая, но такое ощущение, что игру разрабатывал один художник, поэтому в художественном стиле есть некий диссонанс. Некоторые события выдуманы, или что-то добавлено. I'm tempted to give this game 4 or even 5 stars due to the sheer visual accomplishment. The renders are fantastic and the animations are top-of-the-line (especially if you use the video enhancement mod.) Major caveat: The animations are mostly non-looping, which makes for happy eyes and sad genitalia.

The central problem is, I just don't find this game particularly interesting or enjoyable.

FMC has no personality, which makes her more likeable and compelling than most of the other characters.

Despite the dev's name this is a game as opposed to a novel. Prepare not only to eat, nap, jog, clean, garden, apply makeup, etc. for daily stat acquisition and maintenance, but to be confused and potentially overwhelmed as to your many stats and which boring course of action is most helpful.

I can agree with mrbombadil most of the time but to be honest I think the story unfolds in a somewhat okay-ish pace. It's a bit more realistic with how the characters start to be more intimacy. Not always but most of the time.

The animations have good quality if I think about they are mostly created with AI. I saw much worse AI animations. The biggest problem with this game it's early in the developement. I think it has a lot of potential. Now you have 4-8 hours of story gameplay with a lof of unending actions/plots.

I think it will be a good story based game.

Now it's only a solid 4 star because in the story you don't have too many actions with the corruption path. But I think when the game will have at least double the story it will open up much more content. I played with:

It starts off quite briskly, but quickly becomes bogged down by dozens of faceless secondary characters and pointless plot twists, where the player skips from one short, graphic sex scene to the next. I think the developers could make a good game, but next time I hope they start with a clear, precise plan and stick to it, focusing on quantity over quality.

Amazing game. The animations are done extremely well and there are so many of them, magnitudes difference compared to other VN. They are not limited in sex like other games but become a part of narrative. Highly recommend

TLDR: Zero sex when on the corruption path (except 1 unavoidable with husband). AI for most animations and some renders is OK but with significant issues. The only positives are beautiful MC and many (AI) animations.

Positives:

• Beautiful MC with a nice body.
• Good renders.
• Stats for arousal, corruption, exhibitionism, fitness, appearance, etc. Stats for Ass (Virgin), Blowjob (Dislike), Deep blowjob (Unpleasant), Striptease, Sex skill, alcohol. These values can be increased. Doesn't play a big role yet.
• Exhibitionism.
• Lots of animations.
• Relatively smart use of AI to create many renders and almost all the animations. Though it has many flaws.

Negatives:

• There is literally zero sex except for one unavoidable scene with the husband. When you're on the corruption path. This is crazy.
• Unavoidable BJ (1 time) and vaginal sex (1 time) with husband no matter how much you try to piss him off and reject him. Several times. Very frustrating.
• Even worse is, if you have the subscriber bonus you actually get more "love" with the husband. WTF? I'm here trying to corrupt and whore out the MC, not stay faithful with the stupid husband.
• Annoying gameplay. Sandbox game with activities costing time. In a porn game I don't want to worry about how to optimally spend the time each day.
• Need to decide what to do each half hour of the day. Doing mundane activities such as laundry, cook food, clean house, put on makeup, yoga, bath, etc. Very tedious, boring.
• Lazy writing. E.g. the handsome neighbor shows up in an alley exactly the moment the MC is going to get raped and he saves the day.
• Often you have to watch the husband's activities and conversations. Apparently we have to make choices to get the husband laid. Don't like to see that, I prefer keeping the perspective on the MC.
• The perspective change seems confused and inconsistent. Starting the game it seems we're playing Emma as the MC and decide her choices and how she interacts with the husband. But then it gradually changes to be the husband like a third of the time. This part should be removed imo.
• Sometimes you control other guys and girls and select their dialogue. Feels weird and takes me out of the MC's immersion.
• Consequences of choices are sometimes not clear and sometimes only become apparent when it's too late to go back and change it.
• AI generated animations have some significant issues. Kissing doesn't work, MCs body changing a lot in different scenes, unnatural movement, flickering lights.
• Language issues. Incorrect and mistranslated (to English) words. Spelling.
• Stupid choices sometimes. E.g. The only two options when making out with a dude are "Stop him" or "Stop him immediately" and both options you lose progress on her corruption and depravity.
• Clicking some actions/locations doesn't do anything. Or gives an error message.
• Many messages from the dev in the middle of the game.
• Lacking choices for important moments such as when a guy at work feels her up and later if you want to sunbathe topless in front of guests (MC accepts both "choices" automatically with no input from us).
• Some choices are locked behind a Patreon subscriber code.
• Annoying, nosy, manipulating neighbor woman (Shelly) that thinks she knows everything and keeps flirting aggressively with the husband.
• MC doesn't interact much with men. So where's this corruption going? Not many opportunities or interesting scenes to turn into a slut.
• So many situations can't be skipped/avoided. So if you're trying to play faithful you'll still face things like sexual assault in the workplace.
• Not many activities available if you don't want to be faithful to the husband. Because most home activities increase love with husband or depend on that love stat.
• Text when masturbating is very non-descriptive and generic. So e.g. choosing to put a vibrator into her anus just gives a boring generic text unrelated to that specific action.

The rendering is great and the animations look awesome, they really bring everything to life. The model is gorgeous and stands out right away. I’m not usually a fan of moving around maps, but here it feels smooth and I actually like it. I just hope the story keeps a good pace and doesn’t drag on, because so far it’s really well balanced. I’m hooked, every chapter makes me want to keep going. Excellent for me

good VN with a nice amount of choices, good mix of AI and daz animations and the static renders are good as well. has a degree of open world which is nice. solid amount of content in the current version (0.5) which makes me hopeful for future updates.

So far, Boundaries of Morality (0.551 version) is a great game. First of all, for the characters: they're well built, well developed and often enough move outside what would be expected from the classic archetype. They have clear personalities and they feel relatively believable in how they behave and act and think. Choices matter as well, not only in the obvious places in the story, but also in things like how you go through the sandbox part, where I see comments here of content I haven't even had a glimpse of in my playthrough. And the writing may not be the best, but it is certainly well above average and on a pretty decent level, and manages to keep the story going forward at a good pace (even if it does mean the sandbox can't be endlessly played, which I do think is the right approach). The fact that the husband is a bit of a jerk at the beginning made me dislike him a bit, but he does come into his own as the game advances and is not just another random cuck but has his own plot, temptations and development.

Render quality is really good, and characters both male and female are attractive and have different body types and so on. There are a lot of animations, like a lot, but it is true they are often AI done which is something I'm personally on the line about, not sure on how I fall on this in general, but here it is implemented decently. There is music but I turned it off as always, and there are some sound effects that add to the atmosphere. I did find a few bugs, but really minor ones.

So, all in all, as of now it is an awesome game I recommend without a doubt.

I play a ton of games on F95 since years.
But this one is outstanding. The scripting, the pace, the realism, beautiful realistic models.
How many Truth or Dare Scenes did i watch- but this is defenitly the best.
The idea with the floating stats...nit a big thing.
But this game islove to every detail- i like this.

This was surprising, the blend of AI and Daz rendering was incredible. The way Del introduced sandbox in the game, I loved it because I hate playing sandbox game, there is just too much to do and I get bored of clicking on things. Loved it.

1. Beautiful FMC and female models in general are gorgeous. Male models are also good looking and done well.
2. General renders and visuals for setting, world, environment are high quality and nicely detailed.
3. Animations (while im not an expert are probably done with AI CG tools) are really very well done, amazing with the right tools and skillset what can be done. Professional and sexy.
4. Writing is good, structured and reads really well.
5. Dialogue is not overly bloated or boring and is kept short enough but also interesting and realistic.

1. Story is not exceptional or particularly interesting really, its pretty much what most corruption, hotwife, NTR, swinging type stories are about.
2. Sandbox is still crap, don't care who says what, SANDBOX is crap, the player is perpetually looking for content and having to navigate time and day and if they miss that window, they need to wait for the next day.
3. No idea what content is really available to play in a particular update, the game almost cuts off so abruptly that you get a bit of whiplash at the ending when the developer message pops up.
4. Lack of sounds is another major let down, lewd scenes in particular are much better with them. Not to mention ambient, interactive and general environment sounds that are missing.

OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS & FINAL REMARKS:

NOTE: The following remarks are my personal opinions and thoughts, which may provide more context and could be useful to the developer. (Read them or don't)

• The story is done well in this that the player has some agency to shape events and how they unfold. So this is not a CON or negative, just something to mention that adds to the story point.
• Per ending and content, the content is not structured in a way that helps the player navigate what is new and where to go next to experience it. e.g. how the beach tanning has two options for the guy applying the suntans lotion on the FMC. Its not about the player style or agency here, you need to pick both options, especially if you take the more bold option the first time. Then you must go for the other option later less you not unlock the guys art studio location. All these conditionals are a pain in the ass and typical of sandbox nonsense.
• Per sandbox, I get why developers do it this way, it gives them more freedom and sense of modular approach to new updates, plug in new content here here and here, where VN is linear and flows only one way and can be lot of work with too many branches. But sandbox only really works if the interface is really helpful, easy and quick to navigate and whats more has a DETAILED QUEST LOG THAT points you to whats available to do. Desert Stalker is a good example here.

TLDR:

Models and animation with good writing are the clear winners in this, they pull this AVN through most of the negatives, and while this works for most people, I am not happy about the sandbox implementation in particular.

Normally i would never give only one star BUT there was something, what was so damn annoying, that i could not give two stars:

There are ever so often small cut scenes which are totally useless and ripp you out of immersion every time!
- Girls gets naked -> cut scene how she walks to the mirror...
- Girl has a nip slip -> cut scene
and it goes on and on and on. They invested so much energy in this, that the scenes look almost real... One of the worst things implemented i a game i played here since the beginning!

Besides this, there are a lot of situations with unavoidable sex scenes with the husband. If MC masturbates and you didnt take any of the other LI (point wise), you still need to imagine the husband... Forced LI or interactions are crap!

Visuals range from ok-ish to good.

started out little slow but recent update was pretty good. the main MC is super hot with the red hair- really like her look. other neat charaters and looking forward to MC's corruption and sharing path.

game has good choices and i'm enjoying the husbands fun at the office with the hot young intern. like the differnt body types and looks of the models. good game and hope dev keeps up the good work.

The story and characters are average. Nothing new and nothing wrong, neither.
The game is not short but didn't show any advance in the characters. It's clearly slow burning, very slow and more than burning i'w say tanning. I think that's the worst thing, it's turn bored.
But while lost 1 point with it, the graphics give it 2 point.
The FMC is hot AF, that animations are in to top ten I saw in renpy and the scenes pretty well managed.
I hope next update starts rocking the boat and bring us some action...
