Actually a well-made game pushing the limits of a very old game engine (who the heck uses RPG Maker 2003 nowadays?). Has a challenging turn-based combat where you have to strategize and use the resources available to you.

The art and character design is cool and stylish, and there are even short animated cut-ins. Interesting story and premise too.

However, as others pointed out, the erotic content is very light and scenes are obscured. A bit disappointing since the main girl is adorable. Still the game itself is a solid experience.

This is not a porn game, at max it is an ecchi game. So first of all shouldn't be here. There are total 6 ecchi censored cg with no animations. The drawings in the CG are also way worse than the character preview CG. With a 2-3 hrs playtrough, I expected so much more, but don't expect anything for this game, you will just be disappointed (expect if you just want to play a side scroll rpg but there are others way better than this)

This game also has routes endings, something i don't like because i don't want to playthrough the same game multiple times, especially with no rewarding CG and if they are there just to add artificial gameplay hrs, aka pointles grind: The route B ending needs for you to restart the game and play with a harder difficulty, thats it. But this route is required to unlock additional content at the end. How high do you have to think of yourself that you think you created such a masteriece that can be enjoyed a 2nd time...

Talking about the plot; it was interesting at first, but i thought it would go a bit darker than it did. At the end, It is just what if humans experimented with humans + animals genes, with some failures turned into monsters, then were controlled, and then those half humans/animals wanted to live free.

    Obligatory

THIS IS NOT A HENTAI GAME. IT'S A GAME. WITH HENTAI. IF ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS GET YOUR ROCKS OFF, THIS AIN'T IT. This is not a joke. I've been playing for 2 and a half hours and the only sexual content I've unlocked thus far are two basic scenes between the MC and the main girl. No sex. There's obviously more than that, but the point is the sexual content is slow. If you were looking for a game you can play one-handed then I'm sorry to tell you that little Johnson might be going cold this winter.

Now that the big red warning is out of the way, let's get down to the brass tacks. If you're in the mood for a "game-game" and like turn-based RPG games, this won't let you down. It's solid, strategy game goodness. Fair warning though, despite some interesting systems to play with there isn't a ton of depth. This ain't Golden Sun where you mix and match a party of 4, min-maxing to achieve a desired result. Think Pokemon, except there's only one-mon with his rag-tag group of friends who occasionally contribute. That being said, it doesn't need to be more than that. It looks like this game is aiming for a solid 5-8 hour runtime, so while the combat system lacks depth I don't think it'll overstay its welcome. And what it lacks in complexity it more than makes up for in style- as far as cute little sprite games go, I think Persona would be proud. Difficulty-wise, the game is extremely gentle. As a turn-based strategy Veteran I can't say I've been too challenged. The one time I died during the first boss battle, the game refunded all the items I'd used that fight, gave me a small exp boost, put me in an area that gave me tips on the fight, and allowed me to prep before letting me try again. Very, very kind. If you know your way around the RPG block you won't struggle much, even on the hardest difficult. I could go into detail about the systems, but hey, since they aren't that deep I'd rather not spoil the initial discovery.

Story-wise, it's a JRPG with an interesting setting and a colorful cast of interesting and likable characters- exactly what you want from a title like this. Fair warning, the translation ain't perfect. There are some typos and poorly phrased sentences, but they're infrequent enough that it doesn't ruin the experience. Just a thing to note. So the premise is simple. You, along with most of the people you know, have lived your entire life in service to a shady organization. They took you in as hungry kids and in return for clothing and shelter, you've been experimented on in order to create exceptional "monsters". Now, as you're about to be decommissioned due to a history of underperformance, one of the higher-ranking monsters asks you to take your life into your own hands and stick it to the man. Did I mention she's hot? The basic narrative beat thus far has been "You fight shitty failed monsters that roam a floor, maybe encounter a not-so-shitty mini-boss, until you get to the boss managing the floor". Once you get there, you take a shot at the boss and when you win they do something that impedes your progress and you're given the chance to try and reason with them. I'm a good boy- at least on a first play-through- so I'm not sure what happens if you fail to recruit someone. I assume you're forced to give them the axe. Wonder if there's a genocide run that gives you a different ending? Guess I'll find out and let you know. Once I do I'll update this post and give a more structured review. Initial impressions are strong though so I recommend you check it out yourselves.

    RAZER It is

good game ain't gon lie, people said it's kind dissapointing because porn scene is censored and just act like a power ups, but imo the story itself and gameplay is already good enough. Highly reccomend if you're into side scroller and turn based combat game. Also pretty challenging too, i still hate that spiky room test.

Spent 3 and a half hours playing and loved every minute. The NSFW portions of the game are few and far between but it's genuinely just a good RPG that really sucks you in. Will definitely be supporting the creator.

Gameplay and presentation are top notch. They're really pushing the limits of old RPG Maker here with the animated cutscenes. In terms of gameplay systems, you've got fairly basic turn-based action but the real meat of the fun comes from how decision making in and out of combat really determines your success.

Besides your standard HP, you've also got a contanimation meter to manage. Each attack you make increases contamination, which is a double-edged sword as more contamination increases your damage but lowers your HP. Past a certain point too much contamination doubles as poison damage. In addition to your HP is Life, which is essentially extra health bars determined by your Life stat. Tougher enemies and bosses also get extra lives, so pacing your resources over a lengthy fight can be a fun exercise. Paying attention to item descriptions and using some basic logic should help you overcome these boss battles. Assist characters also aid you in combat, and they pull from a different resource pool called Protein, so that adds another layer of complexity.

Outside of combat you have a lot of exploration to scavenge for healing items and other tools that can aid you in combat. All resources, including enemies, are finite, meaning that you can't recklessly use everything you have. Leveling up also requires you to think carefully about which parameters you want to raise, since you have to improve each of your stats individually.

Where this game really shines is in the story and presentation. Basically you and your partner are some fucked up sort of science experiment and decide it's time to bust out of this lab. Each floor you meet up with other experiments who try to stop you, and after defeating them you have an opportunity to befriend them after learning about their backstories. It's a bit formulaic but I think the strength of the character writing is very compelling and does a good job of motivating you to continue toward the finish line.

My biggest disappointment is that, despite the stellar art style and amazing character designs, the H scenes are ultimately where this game falls short. As you could see in the screenshot previews, the scenes use a lot of obscurement and cropping to hide the best bits. It really hurts the enjoyment of the scenes. And for the truly impatient people, it will take quite a bit of progress before even the first scene becomes available. Despite this one glaring shortcoming for an H game I still find Break Wolf absolutely worth your time and it really shows that crummy ol RPG Maker still has a lot of untapped potential.
