This game has a lot of potential to be great, with its unique art style and its interesting premise, it has a solid chance to be a masterpiece in its own right.
But there are many things holding it back, now some of these can be excused due to it being version 0.01, and those issues will be addressed, but I will mainly focus on the gameplay, worldbuilding and the characterisation of the protag and enemies, or lack there of.
Firstly the gameplay is unoriginal and stale, following the bland formula of hide and seek gameplay, while trying to escape a building, this has been done to death, and it saddens me that this formula has been chosen, but alas, they seem to do the formula to a very mediocre level, with some sections having the main issue, being the fact that every tracking enemy locks onto you and homes until you leave the area, this being the standout disappointment of their execution of this gameplay type.
This could be improved by a degree by at least delaying their appearance time so you are in the middle of the room preventing you from just instantly exiting.
Secondly the lack of world building is irritating but understandable as the game is in its early stages, but I believe adding environmental storytelling like notes, signs of those before you, and a more diverse theming of areas to make them all feel more unique.
Lastly the Characters is also an issue explained by the current development state of the game, but it needs to be said that character dialogue during defeats, captures and when entering a unique area, would go a long way to improve the game, especially enemy dialogue as not having that makes them feel less like monsters trying to rape you, but as an enemy asset that is merely coded to make you lose.
