VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Calibration Error [v1.2] [Apollo Seven]

So, this game.
Gameplay wise it is a VN with multiple routes and branches, the game has a simple tree/timeline function for you to jump back and forth between events and choices as much asyou need to. Hell, the true end needs you to do them all to complete a nonsensical questionnaire from 12 different realities.
The naughty aspect is harder to note. It is MTF but it's in four stages, always the same, hell, after the first 2 times I just pressed the skip key since it's read text so absolutely no deviation. It's good for such a game and you really get to know the characters which brings me to the final point.

Characters and story.
This story sucked for me. Notbecause it's bad but because the point that the whole story revolves around is your bitch of a best friend.You do understand, your MC understands and the story writes it very clearly but she's a mad scientist, a self centered bastard and overall someone you'd shoot in face if you could...
So, if it's your thing to see your character lose their very identity in the most unfun way, great, this is for you. But you might ask why put 4 stars if it was so unfun.

It's well made, honestly. While not my kind of mtf game, I can recognize quality.
You can see the rotten apple that she is from the very first few scenes and the fact the hypnotist that wants to make you his cum dumpster, and succeeds every time you get on his route, is so less bad should tell you something. It's joyful after experiencing the endings to see her get jumped and betrayed even at the cost of your ego, freedom and overall self.

I only wish we killed you not as a soulless machine but fully human in the present to see you struggle in your last moments as the remains of an exploded tomato and the life leaves your eyes.

I was really exited to play it but it´s sadly awful.

First the soundtrack is annoying and even worse you can mute it but the loud sound effects can´t be muted you always have to listen to them and that is just bad game design.

The sex scenes were really boring, there could be so much done with the concept of this game but it isn´t and there are also no sound effects like moans or animations so they don´t even look good.

The story is very badly written I hated every character and interaction between them.

The desing of the dtext box and overall graphic is trash it looks so awful and cheap I don´t know why this was done this way.

The characters look mosty ugly the main character is okay in sissy form.

This is one of the few games on this site that includes an extremely well done visual depiction of slow MtF transformation. There are text games that have great descriptions of transformations and games that have a basic paper doll displaying transformations, but this game has great renders illustrating the change and a great story describing the motivation for the change. For anyone interested in the idea of MtF change, this game is one you should definitely experience.

There's a lot of endings, ranging from good to "bad" endings depending on the perspective of your playthrough...
Definitely a 10/10 for people that love being dominated!

A fantastic, complete game.
Play through the game and enjoy living with your decisions, and don't worry, once you're done, you can easily revisit key choices in the handy story tree and keep going until you've seen every path and outcome. An absolute delight <3

1/5 - Bad game; Didn't get me off
~45 minutes long

Gameplay here consists of making choices. Not only is there frequently a lack of choice, but the effects of most choices are obscure (what types of scenes they lead to).
The story was fine until it started getting overly melodramatic towards the end. The mystery element was well done.
The big problem here is with the porn. The scenes are short. The renders are bad. The descriptions and dialogues are bad. Worst of all the ideas/scenarios are bad.

The big thing for me when I play sissy games is that I want to see a conflict between the desire of staying a man and giving into the lust. In this game that conflict doesn't exist because there is no sense of lust. Even with the proffesor route, your character rarely remarks how horny he is.
So instead of your choices revolving around giving into your lust, Calibration Error revolves around a "cold hearted" matter of trust. Instead of being a porn game with a mystery, Calibration Error is a mystery game with porn. Instead of being erotic, Calibration Error is boring.

- To repeat - many choices are obscure in terms of the routes they lead you on. For example, one innocent choice you can make in the beginning of the game will lock you into one of two (bad) endings.

This is a fantastic game. And I say game but really it is a choose your own adventure Visual Novel. But man it is good!

There are several routes that cater to different fetishes. Hypnosis, Femdom, Sissy, TF, Foot Worship, Humiliation and more. The story has a fun premise and really takes it in interesting directions.

The game isn't overly long and has all the usual modern features that Ren'py brings like easily being able to fast forward through scenes you have already seen. The art isn't spectacular but works quite well for the story.

Calibration Error is a gender-bending sci-fi adventure of you, the protagonist and your friend, a young genius crazy female student scientist Emily. Throughout your journey to the 12 endings, you will make a lot of decisions and face the consequences. You will go through strange, unbelievable events which in the end will (sort of) be explained by the last true ending.

Story: 4/5 (5+ including the true end)
If you can accept the sci fi setting: a super genius friend and her "world changing" machine, the plot is decent with lots of paths.
The story is not sex driven, so you aren't trying to get as many sex scenes as you can in the game. You are actually trying to handle the events of being slowly transformed into a female. You make meaningful decisions that actually affects your whole life instead of just chasing girls. The game is dialog heavy so you get to know the characters more and more listening to them. You decide how you feel about them and make your choices accordingly.

Graphics: 3.5/5
Good graphics but honestly not the best around. However, the strong facial and body expressions of the characters help telling the story greatly. The game uses graphics and dialog to tell how the characters feel instead of trying to describe feelings with text.

Music and Sound effect: 4/5
A LOT of music and changes according to different scenes. Overall decent although there are a few occations that I prefer turning down the volume a little and just read.

True Ending:
I won't spoil but the true ending takes the game to the next level. All the other endings are just a build up to the final true ending.

Because this game doesn't have a review yet, though it deserves one.

Story and characters: 1.5/2
The idea is simple and rather unrealistic, but the story moves forward at a good pace without boring parts. Sex scenes are well timed throughout the story and generally serve a purpose. Also, it's a non-linear story with many routes and endings.

Content and bugs: 1/1
I haven't discovered any bugs and the game looks completed. (Though it doesn't look like a html game to me.)

Graphics and sound: 1/2
No voice acting or sex sounds. Music in the background. Renders aren't the best but are also far from the worst.

Conclusion: 3.5/5 and 4 stars.
