VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - California Bound [v0.0.6 early access] [Suo Mynona]

4 stars right now with a high potential for top tier status. Story and idea are amazing, animations and renders are top notch. Just needs more content and updates and I will be a happy Patreon backer and will see it through to the end. So damn hot.

Review of version 0.5.
The content is very light in the current version. Moreover, the character's mental evolution is too fast.
The game gives a clear vision of its goals and ambitions. A good alpha version that needs some improvement and content to become an excellent game.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs...

(12/11/2017 - Original Review - v0.0.2)

Well, I figured this supposed visual novel/game had somewhat more to it being version 0.0.2, but it really is just a basic shell for the game... Not a whole lot to do at the moment...

The visuals are alright, for what little content there currently is... The characters look good, and the backdrop, albeit a bit dark (which seems to be the theme of the game anyway), looks good... The user interface is fairly simple with text choices on where to go and what to do... I'ld prefer the stats window not take up so much of the screen, as I'ld have to guess it could be 50% smaller and still be readable..

The script is short, with a brief introduction and a small amount of dialogue with some characters... There were just a few grammar errors, but nothing a quick editing couldn't fix...

There really is not much to do at the moment, walking around does absolutely nothing but increase exhaustion and hunger, once you find the coffee shop... You can clean up and use the toilet in the coffee shop, and do some waitressing if your money goes too low... The only food to eat is snacks at the coffee shop, and the occasional latte... You briefly get hints at content that doesn't exist yet, such as a few places to possibly live, and a club to possibly go work at, but they are not part of the game yet...

Really this looks like it will play out more as a possible protagonist corruption game, with some stats to grind, and some story now and then... Not much in the way of visual novel in the traditional sense... I hope it doesn't go too deep down the darkness path, such as physical abuse or sex slavery etc., because that would be taking things way too far... The protagonist is a young adult female with dreams of becoming an actress, which is a different pace with all the male protagonist games out there... Not sure on the potential for this one yet, but I really would hate to play a game where you control a protagonist that nothing but bad things happen to, that would suck... But only time will tell how this game develops... For now it is just basic game mechanics, and not much else...


(02/01/2018 - Review Update - v0.0.5)

Since the last time I played this VN/game it hasn't really changed a whole lot... There are a few more places to sleep, but no content really at those locations... The only other content really is 2 sub/dom paths in the coffee shop leading to the same exact point of submitting to the Alex character and becoming his sex toy...

7Alex is basically a sadistic dominator pimp selling sex for money, who breaks submissive women in for that purpose... If the protagonist submits right off the bat, she immediately becomes a sex toy who gets used for sex by Alex and a couple other characters... Route two is much more brutal and sadistic, as even though she agrees to work for him, he abuses her trust to break her in, by sending in lots of people to roughly use and abuse her sexually for an entire day, before she succumbs to his will, and becomes his sex pet anyway... So either choice is irrelevant...

Thus far there is still no story content of any depth or meaning, just a bunch of BDSM type sex and done... I'm not seeing the possible potential I originally thought might come from this game... So far it's looking like it's just gonna be a hard core fetish based porn fest... Nothing in this game suggests it's a visual novel of any substance, meaning, and/or depth at all, so far... Each update since v0.0.2 has been focused around adding more sex content... I'm a bit disappointed... But this game is still way early in production, so we'll have to wait and see where it ends up going... Will I play it again in the future? Maybe, but for now I'm leaning a little towards no... Guess I'll have to wait and see... In any case, I'm going to wait a long while before making that decision...

Seems like a solid game to follow and see how it progresses.

Right now there isn't much content, and I couldn't quite figure out how to get the very few scenes that I could find in the images folder.

I would definitely like to see more content in an update though, an update at least be like a chapter in a book, so 0.2 should be chapter 2. This is kind of like 2 pages of chapter 1.

The CGs are decent and the character appearances are unique (which is great for a Ren'Py release). I found what little story there is appealing.
