Ren'Py - Completed - Callisto-X [v1.0] [ProfessorX-10]

Hello! Never played Callisto or the other one. This is my first experience to the game. Gotta say I had a blast! Loved the characters their motivations, backstory the art music. Was a grand old time! However I only picked up this game after reading all the shit reviews about the ending. So I'm about 2 Weeks away from the Main Event at the end of the game according to the overview in game. Here is where I am. I have 58,000 credits in my personal account. Let me buy a bigger ship. Have Lia outfit it with the best tech, have Tiffany throw on some big ass guns and let same and the computer Callisto add their personal touches to it and start a new adventure with all the same crew going into unexplored space as the badass MC is. Don't end it on a flat note. Sad. Instead New game. Maybe new crew whatever. From my perspective finishing this game will be a let down because I enjoyed the piss out of it. There are a few instances where the old art showed up and I laughed my ass off at the juxtaposition but that is part of a Fam made game right? I am ending my experience here. If for any reason there is another update, New ending or transition into a new game I'll happily finish that way. But for now I'm ending it here. Would be 5 stars but If you don't finish now one enjoys being blue balled. Thank for the read!

Well normally i don´t give Ratings to games but in this case i make one.

the altering along the gamestory was fine i must say some things where added and some things where changed i think??
i would need to check on the orginal game to see what has changed,but that parts that where added were good.

for me the image quality is not the important part,the important part is the story behind these kind of games and if the images are good that is a bonus.
and it does not need to be a fuck fest all along were you bang woman wherever you see them.it is enough to have spicy moments now and then along the gamestory.

so now for the part why i wrote this rating.

this fanmade project was almost made identical to the orginal game.
there was elements added to the gamestory and some things where changed.

but all that was ruined when the final update came out.

The orginal game had no Harem ending and had only 4 endings and that were the endings for Kara,Lia,Tiffany and Tanya.

but instead of expanding the orginal Game with having all endings with all LI available like an Harem Ending,Rachel and Alice Ending or Rachel or Alice Solo Ending and maybe an Julia ending too(all these are not in the orginal game) and the other 4,you get nothing of these endings.

You get an ending where the MC throws everything away because since the Callisto is destroyed your Harem on the ship where everyone shares the MC is gone and he does not wants to choose one over the other.
so he abandons everyone and disappears and the Reporter Tracy finds him as an Alcoholic in a pirate bar.

Long Story short that is an Tracy Ending where the MC ends as an contracted Captain of an ship exploring new traiding routes and Tracy is an crew member.
And suddenly Everyone of his former Crewmembers except Sam is or was Married and has Children or has moved on and has their own lifes now.

That is the Only Ending you will get all the other endings are no more only this garbage Ending.

Orginally i would have given this a 4 Star rating but THIS final update ruined it all.

The orginal game was good as i see it.
it missed some endings,but that bothered me not so much.

First of all, everything that the dev said about the game, all feels contradictory while playing the game.
Like,
#story focused (not really, it's kind of a getaway from less coding and story focused necessary doesn't mean scene forced on you.)
# Don't give choices if they have no meaning. No choice at all is always better than a fake choice.

Most importantly
The original game was great because of it's approach, romance dynamic(harem) despite the so-so render(models look great mostly) and animation. Trying to change that with the similar level render is a definite disaster.

No need to waste time on this one. Play the original game and be done with it. The models are not worth playing it in different ways specially given that this one is not that creative or well executed.

Well starting to see why this dosent have any reviews since its barely worth a single star...

Story is just bland and kinetic, you controle nothing and already 2 mins in the game the first girl is forced on you, someone MC dident even want to touch which on its own feels idiotic, also you know absolutly nothing about the girl or who she is which results in a pointless sex scene with 0 feelings for the girl and it makes the story feel extremly rushed.

Some might say its needed for story but its just not, the mother could have walked in on MC and her daughter while the daughter is nude in bed before any sex happens and still trow MC out, so the forced and awfull sex scene wasent even needed.

Kinda funny how game starts by saying iits more about story then sex and then first thing it does is force a sex scene on you.....its just stupid, same goes for the notes on page one talking about the player having personal choices that will shape the story which is clearly bullshit when you cant controle relationoships then you controle nothing.

Then theres the fake choices, like pick a ship class to buy, 4 choices one that you just cant pick, another that makes you do a drug trade and it says you get away from the cops but then it jumps back to pick a ship?
Next you try breaking in and steal some shit which ofc also dosent work so yet again back to pick a ship.....
Last you try to a loanshark which ofc dosent work and again back to pick a ship.....
Leaving you with the 1 choice you couldent pick to start with..talk about wasting your time and making it feel kinetic yet again, maybe its an attempt to be funny but its just not...

Next you do a race where you have to pick everything right or its back to try again....im just not here to waste time on doing shit like that....i just want to read the freaking novel and have normal choices...but guess thats to much to ask for, multiple game-overs and multiple attempts to get past this idiotic puzzle shit......best part is you cant even fucking win the race......so why the fuck does it take you back and back and back to try again? fuck me thats idiotic.

I just couldent play this shit, its none stop fake choices, speaking your mind to someone = game-over i just cant deal with this kinetic bullshit 3 out of 4 choices leads to game-over.....and its every single time you have a choice all are game-overs except one.....

I cant recommend this game its garbage truely and i dont say that often, but sooo many game-overs, fake choices, bad animations, bland story and ive never ever seen a game with this many game-over choices.

When it changed to sandbox i just had enough and couldent play on, theres a girl speaker that says you will have alot more choices as you go along and i mean just no thanks.

To me they are just mostly ugly or bimbos and not having any choices in this game ruins everything when it comes to girls.

They are truely the worst ive ever seen and even picture to picture would have been better in most scenes, some of it look decent but others are a pure joke.

Atleast its not silent but the music just dosent fit the game or the scenes and its also very bland.
