Can we all agree that Summertime Saga is the pinnacle of adult gaming?

I've downloaded more than a few games. I've played the 8 bit cartoony platformers. I've played the shiny women, powerpoint slide games. I've played the anime games with the same drawings repeated in slightly different positions with mountains of boring text to reveal 13 mediocre hentai drawings. I've played the build an anime girl, honey select games.

Can we all agree that Summertime Saga is the best? Story, animations, mechanics, and variety. It's the one game I return to.

Does it even have gameplay? The walkthrough reads like a point&click adventure. Even if it has some shitty ero-sandbox elements, there's definitely better gameplay to be found in ero-games. I bring up the gameplay because that's one aspect that's not entirely a matter of opinion/preference.

It might be the pinnacle in it's niche as a "VN with sandbox elements". I'm a big fan of it and consider it one of my favorites, but it's not what I would consider the pinnacle overall.

It's far to subjective to ever matter really, but for me something like modded The Sims 4 is probably closest to what we have to an objective "pinnacle" when it comes to adult gaming. Being that it's a massive game developed by one of the biggest publishers in gaming, it's on a completely different scale compared to anything else out there. It simulates an entire life and the countless situations where you can indulge in your desires in a way few games could ever dream of.

Even then it's far from perfect of course, the completely sandbox nature is never as satisfying as a well written story, and while the sex-scenes and animations are better than a lot of games out there, it's still not on the level of an Illusion game's sex animations. But if I had to choose only one porn game to play for the rest of my life, it would probably be modded The Sims 4.

From a design perspective, it's one of the best games on here. Clear vision, unique artstyle, solid writing. I like that it doesn't take itself too seriously while still pulling at your heartstrings. (Eve!)

But there's no such thing as THE best game, tastes are very different, e.g. I absolutely do not understand the appeal of RPGM games, while lots of people do enjoy them.

On this site it would be "A Struggle with Sin" and a VN I can't remember the name of but it's about a dad and his 2 daughters and the daughters aren't exactly traditionally attractive but the story is so well done that they become beautiful IMHO. I think they may be middle eastern or something. I'm seriously having a brain fart.

Most of you could've given reasons and the game that you think is the pinnacle of the adult gaming rather than saying no and posting memes, farming for likes...

Back on topic, I really enjoy 3D Adult games ( not 3dcg types as in most VNs ) and I really thought "The Twist" was the peak for adult gaming for me. It is really well done in my opinion but now that I've played "Last Hope", I'm having difficulties choosing one of the two. :) If you haven't tried those games I suggest you to do so. You won't regret!

Also agree with your points, though. STS is a very unique game with well drawn art and good animations. It lacks of sounds during animations but it still is a very enjoyable experience. Stats, money, phone system, and most importantly quests are very neat. I really enjoyed the story but I think the last update didn't do this gem of a game justice.
