Hello everyone,

I was downloading a new game when after extracting it, windows defender strated saying it was a virus.
I disabled Windows Defender and re-extracted the game files (cause they got deleted) and I wasn't able to open the game.

Then I tried to open all my other games and now, I can't open any games at all (even games that was working).
I even tried to re-download the games but still having the same problem...

I get this error named : ._cache_GameName.exe error
With this line : C:\\Users\\Name\\Folder\\GameFolder\\lib\\windows-i686\\._cache_GameName.exe: Could not open C:\Users\Name\Folder\GameFolder\._cache_GameName.py.
And nothing else... I don't really know what to do and didn't find something to help me...

Thanks if you can help me :)

Where did you get the game that started this all? There are asshats that constantly post torrents of ren'py games.. they replace the main ren'py installer with a downloader wrapper that downloads malware..

You should never disable security controls without first knowing what you are doing, and second having a backout plan in place. You might want to take a look as system restore, see if you can find a system restore point prior to first problem. Might cause you to loose data/docs depending on where they are stored.

Might want to install free malwarebytes, let that scan your system.

also from an admin command prompt, running the following commands can help if anything modified system files... second only for Windows 10 (maybe win8/8.1 as well):

Code:
sfc /scannow

dism /Online /cleanUp-Image /CheckHealth
Trying to fix a problem like this over a forum post is nearly impossible... all I can offer is the above very generic advice.

If you are looking for a malware or something like this, try "adwCleaner" to be sure
Also, always download on certificated website like f95zone, the 0% risk doesnt exist but at least it's more safe than random website (even the creator website)

For your problem i'm not sure ... it would be better to take the control of your pc with teamviewer and test some things then just try to help you like this

Tried and nothing works and it's not a torrent or something like I don't like cracked games so I pay the games on developpers patreons.. And I already have malwarebytes (paid version) and not like windows defender he didn't said anything about the games if there were a virus or something...
