It depends on where you downloaded it from, could have broken header. Just drag it inside MS Paint, and save it again and it should fix it. If MS Paint cannot load it either, it means the image is corrupt or fake.

Holy shit It works now. Thank you so much(y)
Note that your browser mislead you when saving the image. He used the file extension proposed by the name of the image (png), instead of the one matching the actual format of the image (avif).

It's a detail, but it's still something important to know since the image are not what they looks like; something that matters more that it seem, like you experienced firsthand. Would the images have been named "avif" like they should have, you would have wrote your thread totally differently, and possibly even found the answer all by yourself.

Try dragging the saved screenshot in ms paint, then resave it.

It didn't work, but even if it works, that is not solution for the problem...?
but the only other solution is using other software:

- modern firefox or based-in-modern-firefox webbrowser - seems to be the only browser that by default when saving files gives them extension-names according to what they really are. (in this case: avif)

(maybe workaround: in other browsers use "save as" and manually correct the file extension to avif each and every time.)

- use an image-viewer who handles files by what-they-are and not by how-they-are-named.
So eg. irfanview will open misnamed images just fine.
