with nearly 300 releases, I am having trouble organizing the folder. How are you guys managing it?
  1. Creating a subfolder for characters or series?
  2. Organizing it by release number?
  3. Throw it all into one giant dump folder?
I am asking because i am juggling multiple collections that have different naming schemes (japanese, korean, sometimes using release numbers, already preestablished sorting systems)
If it was just 50 videos, I would manually rename them and establish a system that works but I often have to revisit the folders and check for potential dupes.

a very interesting questions....
how do you guys organize all these kind of stuffs? also in general?

i see you keep all the files without cutting the single parts.... mhh
so my best advice for this type is:
convert all the names in english or cinese (if you can read it) and then keep track of the files using the girls names
this is what i use generally.....
Snap2.jpg
my CBX folder like..
yeah i keep it separate from the rest because of the art stile...
same as the 2d animations they are on separate folders apart....

BUT if you cut them in piaces like me you CAN ALSO use something like this:
Snap1.jpg
put every file with girls name first on them.....
you can easy track them down by position+girls name using key shortcuts....

the rest goes in single author directory....if you want it....
or just DUMP everything on these....lol

salut

I sort my collections by month according to artists release date. But due to purism, filenames usually don't help finding specific videos. I need to setup Stash for tagging, but I keep procrastinating.

Generally I have two spaces, the archive and the dump. Each space has a list of creators, the archive has correctly named and organized video collections. I am also making full-use of the Everything application so I name all creators by as many aliases as I can for easier look-up. A few years ago I also added the Fantia/Pixiv IDs along with the name but over the years I never made use of that so I removed them.

The dump is the place I have all unsorted, uncategorized releases of creators I may or may not choose to archive (or if only a few releases are interesting then I'll add the specific videos to the oneShot folder and delete everything else. Once a year I review the archive and may choose to prune a few creators that I am no longer interested in. Sometimes I realize I may be the only person who still has videos of a long-forgotten creator, which makes me hesitate to delete the creator. My dump space looks the same as my archive but it is always like triple the size of my archive because damn, people are producing more 3d/mmd hentai than I can process. And I often find hidden gems which makes me go on a wild hunt for all of the creator's previous releases.

I have also started to think about longterm preservation, which means I am using scripts/ffmpeg to reencode really big videos (+5GB releases) to a more compact form because you can't expect me to hoard terabytes of hentai lol

Problems I have:
  1. Cross-checking archive and dump folder to make sure I don't have duplicates
  2. Keeping up to date about fan-edits of releases that I've archived (big example is najar's voice reworks)
  3. Tweaking the encoding process so I have optimal quality at a filesize that can be archived
  4. Thinking of a way to have a "graveyard" folder. Creators that can be pruned but are preserved for "historical" reasons lol

Much appreciate your kind memories in regard to Riviera <3
Sadly I don't have a torrent or upload as the region I am in is a bit problematic and I prefer to keep my digital footprint low.
If you have a specific release you'd like (besides the latest release of saba, alice, kafka), then I am happy to share.
I might be able to upload it together with gishiki's request for the Blue archive release, and Ayawrowth's request for the Topaz release (although I suspect that one is by sugardust directly)

Did he say on fanbox why his new Yuzuha, Kafka and other animation are made using low quality mmd (I think?) poses? The ones used everywhere on iwara. They're horrendous. He was usually using Sugardust's poses which are very well made.
If I had to guess, it's because Sugardust stopped sharing his scene data months ago. CBX probably doesn't want to keep recycling the same Sugardust scenes for every vid so he opted for other scenes for the sake of variety even if theyre lesser quality
