Censored Version for Steam Releases

Is it worth it to release a censored version with a uncensored patch?

Or is it better to just outright release an uncensored game?

It seems the games that do really well have a censored version for visibility and then offer uncensored patches through a different channel.

Does anyone have any experience with this? What's the best move to maximize sales?

If you are releasing a sex focused game it has no sense having a censored version i think
Games that have one on steam is because some time ago steam didn't allow sexual content, that i think that this changed now (i'm not sure because i stopped using it)
