(Tired of winning? Try losing on purpose! A challenge ladder for players who like intentional defeat, self-imposed rules, and fetish/roleplay modifiers —RPG friendly)
Before we dive into this, just wanted to thank you for reading this silly post.
This thread is a ruleset and challenge-ladder: players pick a difficulty tier and beat the game while obeying that tier’s restrictions. Each tier adds restrictions to make runs harder and more interesting. There are two kinds of rules: Core mechanical restrictions (combat/items/level rules) and Roleplay modifiers (affection/arousal behaviors, forced choices).
How progression works:
To move from one tier to the next, you must complete the current tier while having experienced each of that tier’s required restrictions at least 5 times (e.g., triggered the forced-surrender, been drained, used the “indulge” option, etc.). Post proof (screenshots / final save / short clip) and your verification details using the template below (optional). Extra points if you clear a whole run, not needed though, and try not to repeat enemies.
Why do this?
Challenge runs increase replay value, make mundane scenes feel risky, and cuz like, why not? It’s like a Nuzlocke but for eroge and adult RPGs — you learn creative strategies and get off while getting wrecked "on purpose"
Want in?
Pick a tier, read the rules (spoilers below), and post your attempt, when reading the spoilers, preferably read both Core rules and Roleplay rules, to understand which are optional. Looking for suggestions: what restrictions am I missing? which tiers feel unfair? Drop ideas or your own tier names in the comments
community hooks (coming soon)
“Design-your-own-tier” contest for members.
Polls to rename tiers or vote new modifiers.
“No-retcon” leaderboard: fastest completion under a given tier. (still thinking of how to implement this.)
Weekly challenge: everyone does a Pushover run and posts the funniest death.
Most important thing of all, is to just use my list and enjoy!
Oh, and if you enjoyed this post, don't forget to leave a like!
