VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Champion of Venus [v1.1] [Umbrelloid]

Have to say, I enjoyed this little game.

First, love the artwork. The artists that did all the different artwork as well as the creator of the game really did a fantastic job making these characters interesting and sexy. You really do feel like these characters are real people, despite how huge their figures can get and how creative the story can get.

Did enjoy the magic system of this story. Now, this game does have vore but you can easily choose to not select vore and still enjoy the game without it. How Venus would put the two sisters in her vagina in order to heal them with her 'divine' body. Even the ending I thought was really clever. How Venus' champion did not so much defeat the All-Farther, but instead seduced him to give this world of goddesses and mortals another chance. What a cool way to show that she really is a person of lust.

The only reason I do not give it five stars is their is no gameplay here. The puzzles are not that complex to figure out and their is no combat. Meaning, training with your friends feels rather pointless because you never feel that impart the story. Am glad that Venu's Champion has to train to use her powers but wanted something more complex than clicking a box and instant unlock.

The TLDR; The characters and sex are the real highlight, gameplay could've been more promising but delivered.

Gameplay
I usually make a habit of staying away from visual novels as they often have few choices and I don't want to spend a whole review talking about a game that acts like what it says on the box: "novel". But I decided to make an attempt with this game. VNs operate on the fact that the gameplay is mostly just clicking on a choice depending on what you feel like and that it changes whats most immediate. What elevated this game into being playable for me was the ways that choices earlier on had a noticeable flow into later choices and there were some times that you actually had to think about your choices. The biggest thing that is lacking for me is the fact that it doesn't really feel like many choice had much question to them. Some were literally "give up or don't give up" and being that I'm playing a video game I want to see more content so I choose "don't give up". Truly the game shines in the other factors.

Story
The story was intriguing and had a good concept. I really enjoy taking this NEET femcel along her path to becoming a harem-owning, god-fucker. There are some spots where I wish there was more consequence or more exploration of character. The latter quarter really feels rushed in this regard. I played a semi-pacifist route sparing and being kind to characters where applicable and felt a twinge of disappoint that certain characters weren't able to be further interacted with to become friends or lovers. This shouldn't distract from the fact that every other character is pretty unique and their stories feel well fleshed.

Erotic
The porn is what you'll be here for. There is all sorts of kinks that are played into that are really hot. The different artists do create a pretty unique flair and there was never a time that I was looking at a scene that I felt turned off. I usually will have more to say in sections where I have complaints, but none really exist here. I love the unrealistic proportion-breaking (even where others may not) and I love the slight tension in scenes when playing through them. Having poly/NTR/harem scenese were both hot and sometimes wholesome. Overall, I felt these scenes had a good place in the game and were a major turn-on for those with kinkier tastes.

A great visual novel for a certain kind of audience. The game is pretty loaded with extreme kinks. Tentacles, inflation, truly ridiculous sizes and penetrations, femboys, slimes, futa (obviously), it has it all. You can turn off vore, but most of the fetishes are integrated into the story and non-optional. Just to explain the level of degeneracy we're dealing with here, some of the art was commissioned from Sparrow. If you know who that is, you understand.

I get why this turned off certain people, but I personally don't hold it against the game. It has a target audience and it serves that audience well. If a visual novel with a shonen-esque plot about sex-fighting loaded with the most degenerate kinks you can imagine appeals to you, you're going to have a good time with this game. If you feel like this might be too much for you, I understand and would recommend you find something else. I just see it as a shame that a game with this much content and effort sits comparatively low in ratings just because it is niche.

The game is fully finished, and it is pretty long. There is an entire story playing out over several chapters leading to the conclusion of the whole arc. The game makes a promise in chapter 1 to bring you on a sex-fighting tournament adventure and it delivers. That already is a rarity in the adult gaming space, but to add to it I think the story is... quite good. It's not perfect of course. Writing a long episodic story in a satisfying manner takes a lot of skill, and it's true that some of the latter chapters take a tonal shift and struggle to keep the story on track. This isn't an emotional masterpiece that is going to make you genuinely feel for the characteres. It's an action-filled campy smut-fest. You won't be carefully analysing the story, but if you can get hype about being a plucky NEET futa who steps up to an impossible challenge and overcomes adversity to fuck various semi-divine and fully-divine entities into submission, get on the wild ride.

That's not to say the characters are completely one-dimensional. The protagonist is not a Mary Sue. She can and does fail. She fucks up. She gets overconfident. Sure, she'll always have some bullshit to pull out of her ass in the end to win, but the road there is bumpy and feels at least somewhat earned in the end. She also develops relationships ranging from friendships to full-on romance with several members of the supporting cast. The secondary characters can be a bit more shallow, but they still feel like they have genuine relationships that are affected by the beats of the plot. There's still a decent amount of "enjoy the porn and don't worry about the implications" but the cast is not just walking kinks. It's good enough is what I have to say.

The art is as extreme as the premise and kinks imply. Commissioning several different artists does result in stylistic clash, but it isn't too distracting, and I understand the budgetary concerns. I'll definitely take this over all the art being ripped from somewhere or generated by AI. The artists obviously have a lot of experience in portraying these kinks so expect all the stops to be pulled out. Again, I can't stress this enough, THIS IS NOT A VANILLA GAME. BE WARNED. The protagonist is a switch though because of how the plot works she's more often going to end up dominant. That said there are still plenty of scenes of her getting absolutely wrecked so take that as either a positive or a negative depending on what you like. The music is fine. It's a bit repetitive, but I like the way it is used to contextualise scenes and set the mood. The actual choices do have consequences, but many of them are either very short term or very minor. The game has a story to tell and you're just changing parts of it. This isn't a branching adventure with multiple "routes". Overall, it's hot, it's kinky, and it's well-done if you can look past the art style randomly changing from scene to scene.

Overall, Champion of Venus is a rare success story in the genre and an even rarer one considering the kinks it deals with. It is nice to see one of these big concepts get from start to finish, blossoming into a full product. If you're a fan of futas, extreme kinks, and a story that involves fucking a goddess appeals to you, check this out. You probably won't regret it. And if you especially like it, consider supporting the developers by actually buying the game. I think this one deserves it.

I cannot say I really enjoyed this game, I went in thinking it would be one thing and it turned out to be something else entirely.

However, objectively speaking the art is really good, and the writing well above what you typically see.

You just need to be prepared for everything to be...extra. Most of, if not all, the lewd scenes go way over the top. So, if you're into absurdity in terms of size and distension then you're in luck. You also need to be prepared to pretty regularly be abused as a bottom. There is even some unavoidable NTR. None of those are my things, hence not really enjoying the game.

The game has an interesting premise and several hours of game play. I only did one playthrough, but I got the impression that your choices don't make much difference, so your mileage may vary. Also you should note that the dev has transitions pretty slow. So, if you're like me and read/click quickly through the text you will likely find yourself having to back track often as what seemed like a screen with no text was just delayed text that you'll skip over.

This is a game with a really hot premise that just suckerpunches you with an extreme. If you like extreme, good for you. If you don't, it'll utterly disgust you and cause you to immediately stop playing. Essentially, This is beyond vore, ryona, vomit, scat, etc. It's a game where you won't enjoy unless you're an extreme degenerate...but one you will VERY much enjoy if you are one.

I would rate this 1 star, but I do appreciate the bits I did enjoy and I can acknowledge the effort put behind it, so 2 stars minimum.

I loved everything about the story. I love the premise, character, plot, pacing I wouldn't change a thing. I do wish there were more images/scenes in the game. There's a lot of text were it would be nice to see illustrated. So at times it feels like there is too much text but it really just not that much images to accompany it is all.

Overall I recommend this to any fans of futa genre. I definitely wish there were some scenes with the sister and mc. I also would love a follow up to this or a comic set in the universe.

It's mostly light-hearted game with a focus on futa, gigantic dicks and loads, vore and tentacles. It is several evenings long. Story and writing is entertaining, characters grow with time. Game is finished with satisfying conclusion. Images are commissioned by different artists and have varying quality (none are distinctly bad), Amount of images is too low for a game this size IMO. If you like listed fetishes - this game is worth the shot. If not - it will likely feel somewhat bland due to low density of art.

Overall - good job dev and everyone involved. Really liked mouse subplot.

I somewhat enjoyed the game at the beginning.
After some time it began to bore me. It has wide variety of fetishes, which is good for some people who like most of them. For me, I'm lite on these fetishes, so most of them weren't for me.
But other than that, my main reason for now liking it was lack of animations and boring story and characters.

The first 2 chapters were really good, it was setting up to be an interesting story with a dramatic premise. Yet as i continued to progress through the story, the more and more nonsensical and what felt like outright rambling from the writer. This games story goes downhill rapidly with each chapter that you start, which is a shame, considering the great start of the game.

Another part of this game that kept deteriorating with each chapter was the sexual scenes, look, my tastes and fetishes are quite degenerate at this point, but its not THAT degenerate. The first chapters start with vanilla-ish and then proceeds to go off into the deep end with fetishes i cant even imagine someone actually masturbating to. Its so absurd, so nonsensical that its in no way, shape or form arousing.

COF has a great start, and thats about it.

This game is fantastic, I highly recommend it.

its not perfect, lets start with the elephant in the room, the dev seems to have commissioned multiple artist for this project, this results in a game that doesn't have its own unique art style. That being said i kind of forgive it because he got some really good artist who's art style really suit this project.
Another negative with the art being fully commission is it ends up limited, there are way scenes that play out to a black screen; this isnt a criticism more of an observation because its not really something the dev can control, they cant really "will" more money for commissions into existence.

The story is great, feels like the dev actually planned it out (something a lot of dev seem to struggle with), feels like the dev actually had a roadmap. its a fun story are the characters are great, and there is a few good laughs.
That being said the ending did fall a little flat, wasn't that exciting considering all things that lead up too it. Feels just a tad rushed.

One last point, the sister feels like a missed opportunity. i get avoiding the incest tag in a game that doesn't really need it to avoid the risk of getting kicked off of patreon but it feels like she could have had more content, even if rayne wasnt directly involved. She is described as a nymphomaniac with giant boobs, would be great to have seen more of that.

A tad too absurd and it's a cross of a cartoon-caricature and anime-aesthetic at the best of times, which is luckily often the case, and just cartoonish at its worst, which has a few HCGs in that style.

Unless you really like impossibly large insertions, beyond what one can find in other works since its with dongs bigger than a person, going through a person, there's little to be excited about here.

The writing is fine but not outstanding. It justifies its own absurdity, some characters are likable but rats, why does it have to be rats? Anyway, personally I'd also rather have it less dark and more happy-go-lucky, especially with an endearing slutty-cute protagonist.

I understand people distaste for this game, but I like the game itself.

tl;dr The game gets worse with every chapter/update - Started skipping after 3/4 of the game

Animated tag is misleading since there are only a handfull of animated scenes. Most of the scenes are just pictures OR even worse, black screen with written description and THAT happens a lot!

Another part is that the art is inconsistent. "Normal" scenes have the normal art but there are some "special" scenes which are drawn so differently and sometimes i could swear that they are not all from the same artist.

This games old and I can see why it's not more popular, the dev doesn't actually create the art themselves, so you have a mixture of art styles, not much content for something that started 3 years, but worst of all, many sex scenes and characters are just described, now shown, which leads to a dissappointing experience.

The idea and writing are decent but the devs inability to provide art really lets it down.

Ok, so this game is EXTREME.

The start is pretty good even for more vanilla people, Mc turns into futa, via magic, has to fuck some others... yada yada, pretty standard stuff.

After defeating a couple opponents of either gender, inflation starts.

Champions of Venus is a VN with bad-endings and lots of sexual content. The premise of a sexual deviancy tournament to determine the top goddess of sex is pretty cool, and theoretically could see lots of content made for it. More on that in a bit.

The artwork is good, if occasionally inconsistent due to changing artists. The writing and characterization is great. The plot is familiar but interesting -- Venus chooses the wrong hero, and now the hero has to find creative ways to succeed. The lead in this story is relatable because, let's face it, you're probably a gross NEET degenerate if you're playing this game. The other characters fulfill various archetypes, but I feel like there's a preponderance of physically domineering opponents rather than a truly broad variety of characters.

That touches on my big complaint, I suppose. This game's premise has the opportunity to explore LOTS of sexuality - BDSM, romanticism, beastial/furry, tantric, corruption/control, transformation, body fetishes, sensual fetishes -- and in some ways, it does explore a few aspects of those things, but the game just can't seem to commit to showcasing the wacky, absurd world of fetishes.

As my primary example, we're treated early on to a character who is implied to have mind-affecting temptation powers, only to have that expectation flipped on its head when they reveal that their real power is hyper-cock growth. It's a clever turnaround based on the character's personality, and I kind of liked the bait-and-switch for showing how weak both the protagonist and the player are to even the most basic sexual temptations.

Then, not long afterwards, a character who is established to actually HAVE mind-affecting powers, someone who is explicitly mentioned to enjoy eating their victims, finishes off their bad-end for your character... by hyper-cock impalement. There's nothing explicitly wrong with how it's written, and I'm impartial to the fetish itself, but am I the only one who thought that it was a missed opportunity?

Cocks and toy play are abundant, but where's the impregnation obsessed wizard? The over-ejaculating tanuki? The rapper who literally wraps girls in leather bondage? The Durga styled, multi-armed tickler/masturbator? What about an actual hypnotist with a roleplay fetish? There's SO many potential character ideas that could be used, but the actual selection is kind of sad.

Maybe my complaints are because the game is only on v0.3.3 at the time of reviewing, and the developer actually has far more ideas in store that need time to be brought to life. In any case, I'd still recommend trying this game out because it has more going for it than many VNs, and I still intend on watching the development of this one closely. Good job.

Edit: Since my review, I've played version 0.5. I can say that vore is definitely explored in the game, and with the character whom I mentioned before. Even though I'm not really big into vore, it's a step in the right direction for fetish representation.

For the amount of time it's been out with the content it has, I can see this project being abandoned in the near future, one thing that really detracts from the story and overall visual presentation is the varying art styles that are there. It can be more distracting than pleasing most times and is a bit misleading given what's advertised. I give it 3 stars because the way the story is and the characters that are there are fine and fit the narrative.

This one's got a lot of potential. It's a little rough around the edges at times but it's also an in development game made by one person so i really can't fault it for that. I've always liked the idea of having different artsyles for different cgs and I think the game provides that pretty well. Lol maybe I've been corrupted by the internet but a lot of the kinks on this game are fairly tame for me, and even if you don't like them I don't really see a good reason to fault a game for not pertaining to your exact kinks. Overall if you like futa and your open to exploring some more extreme kinks, I'd highly recommend this one. (Also this game made me realize I'm Bi so yeah it's pretty dope)

A nice change to the same rendered models used in other games. An interesting plot is also refreshing though technically more trans than futa at the moment. A solid 3½ rounded up to 4 stars which, when the missing images, animations and storyline are all present, will likely be upgraded to 5.

I just hope this game makes it to cumpletion (sorry!) and the dev doesn't bottle it like some others have recently (see my other reviews for details).
