Change or Map buttons in some RPG

Hi, I bought a classic NES controller to play rpgs but the buttons are mapped wrong and I can't use the d-pad only the joystick. Is it possible to remap the buttons?
the games I'm playing are Princess GO ROUND and Makina Fallen, I think both are RPG Maker MV

Isn't there some thing like Joy2Key out there that does that sort of thing? I don't use it myself, so I can't really provide any more help than that.

Failing that, maybe you could find or set up an AutoHotkey script for it. I've never scripted gamepad buttons in AHK but it seems like it would be the kind of thing it could handle.
