Responsibilities:
- Rigging stylized characters for gameplay and cinematic use
- Creating user-friendly control rigs for animators
- Weight painting and deformation cleanup
- Working closely with developers to ensure rigs meet animation needs
- Preparing and exporting fully functional rigs for Unity integration
- Ensuring rigs are performant and suitable for real-time environments
- Providing feedback on topology or model adjustments when needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Character Rigger (preferably for games or animation)
- Portfolio or reel showcasing rigging work — stylized characters are a strong plus
- Proficiency in Maya, Blender, or equivalent rigging tools
- Strong understanding of body mechanics, deformation, and animation workflows
- Experience with weight painting, controllers, IK/FK systems, and constraint setup
- Ability to troubleshoot rig-related issues across the pipeline
- Basic understanding of Unity workflows (importing rigs, humanoid setup, etc.)
Bonus Skills (Highly Valued):
- Facial rigging and blendshape creation
- Unity retargeting or animation setup
- Experience collaborating with character artists on topology optimization
