So in the opening the game first makes you grind to level 3 before you can proceed. This set the tone for the whole game.
Once back in town the creator knew how annoying and dull the fight mechanics were so they give you over powered gear from the beginning to either one hit everything, or just avoid the fights alltogether, which I highly recommend.
There are a limited number of scenes in which you have no agency. You either partake or you do not. You cannot choose outfits outside of those scenes and they don't really build much on each other.
In the end, I guess it was okay except instead of fixing a broken game the creator just gave you a way to blast through the problematic parts. I do not think the juice was worth the squeeze here.
