VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Chasing Sunsets [v1.10a] [Stone Fox Studios]

A well-written, compelling story that deals with a lot of big problems and situations, but still manages to make them seem personal and intimate.
The story is placed at the forefront of the game, and the erotic content flows from that, which makes it all the more enjoyable when it does happen.
Well worth a sub on Patreon of a pack buy on Steam.

This game was good overall. Great renders, a solid cast of characters, and a decently engaging storyline that isn’t just a non-stop fuck fest.

That said, I did have a few gripes. Some of the relationship dynamics felt forced, and certain scenes seemed unnecessary or just plain weird. For example, the MC sleeps with the MILF from the cabin at the start, then she completely disappears, leaving you with the sour taste of betraying the husband for no real payoff. It just felt pointless, like a cut plotline.

Also, some side characters got kinda shafted. Bianca and the chef Tanaka, for instance, only got one mediocre scene each. I get that Jaye and Mallory are the main LIs, but the slideshow ending for the side girls made it feel like the devs just rushed to wrap things up.

Still, this is way better than most games out there. But after such a long development time, I wish the devs had given a little more love to all the characters, even the side girls.

Overall this is still an excellent game with many great characters and one of the best on the site but the last quarter of the game and the endings are just extremely weird in terms of choices and pacing.

Tiny spoiler: I got the fusion ending and we get an insane chapter about a uighur child who needs surgery and needs to be trafficked out of china through the forest in vietnam because the authors needed to make some political statement about China being bad completely unrelated to the plot (as well as how much they love the idf for some reason) but instead SEE NOTHING from a character like Tara who is the LI best friend.

The Game has an exelent story.

I like the idea and whole setup. Most importantly the Story catched me. The start has it lentgths took some time to get catched.

Yep, this is the bomb. One of those rare AVN's that others are compared to. It's got hot LI's, humorous, sharp dialogue, and a bang on story about genetic hijinks. It's got it all! Seriously, if you're looking for an AVN that's worth your time -- this is definitely IT. Thank you, devs.
ps -- previous 1-star review obviously has lesbian issues (minimal even!), and has skewed the ratings. Other than that, we've got a 5-star here!

After finishing all endings, getting all achievements on Steam, and experiencing all the stories, I have to give this game a 5-star rating. The models are great, the animations are top-notch, and the music helps set up the mood.

The two main love interests are great; I really liked Mallory's humor, and the great side characters, Lisa, Rikki, and Bianca, sadly, only get non-rewarding endings at the Solus ending, but it's the being-single ending, and they are side characters. The only exception is Amanda, with her Mallory throuple ending.

Some story aspects hit me emotionally hard, but overall it was really rewarding to finish it. The only bad aspect is that some story explanations are left out and only told in the being-single ending with Mallory reconnecting at the coffee shop. The explanation is even more important to understand the Amanda and Mallory throuple ending.

One other interesting part is the two scientists mixing up Jaye's test results. My only explanation for why they even include this in the game is to allow us to know that Jaye is your real sister, and they just could not really show it to us because, quote from the game, "...virtue-signaling payment processors..." but this is the time we live in, and we have to accept it.

The storytelling and the plot kept me drawn to read more. It keeps the audience intrigued and entertained. I hope there will be more to come! A must play! This game should definitely be ranked higher!

Finished the game once on Jaye & Mallory path and absolutly LOVED it.
I understand that the last chapter would be perfect if we got more then the 1 animation with your children.
But if Im honest, He still did a GREAT job, even without animations.
Jaye as the cute girl (with 1 secret Mal knows about) and Mallory as the (very) naughty one
I enjoyed episode 10 ALOT and BIG probs to Stone Fox studios for specialy the humor of Mallory.
I almost fell of my chair and had pain for laughting that much. Last scene with Jaye & Mall was perfect, 5 out of 5.

Great game with great graphics, no bullshit and at least 1 really good ending. One of the few games that actually got completed and didn't have a rushed and/or stupid ending. Definitely deserves a top rating.

Positive:

• The renders are good.
• The story is fairly straightforward and focused.
• It has proper endings for the 2 main love interests.
• Choices have impact. You need to think about consequences before making a choice.

Mixed:

• Animations are acceptable but can be improved more.
• There are ambient background music for most scenes. Some scenes don't have music, which can become distracting, due to the sudden silence as if I mute the game.
• Only 2 love interests. It's fine if the game spends more time and romantic scenes with them. However, the game also keeps introducing new side girls who take character development away from the 2 mains.

Negative:

• The writer obviously has preference for 1 main over another main. Even their solo endings reflect the bias.
• Side girls are there to distract you from the 2 main. If you prefer side girls over the main, you'll have a sad time.
• Spoiler: Both main girls appeal to incest fetish. If you're not into incest, then you can only romance side girls.
• Too many nerd jokes. They're somewhat funny when I first see them. Then, they get tiring the more I keep seeing them.

Conclusion:
It's a decent visual novel with an interesting scifi story. However, for a game that focuses on only 2 love interests, I expect much more screentime dedicated to them. Yet, they're rather lacking in character development, comparing to some other games that have many more LIs.

While it has flaws, shortcomings, missed opportunities, etc., as a completed game it is incredibly solid and neither too short nor too long, with two genuinely interesting and unique lead heroines.

Started off as a 5/5 game, but as the game came to an end you feel a lot of content is lacking.
The dev just wanted to end the game as fast as possible and even skipped making animations for the last few updates, very disappointing.
Feel a lot of content is lacking and due to the rushed ending it just became... Meh.

Gorgeous visuals, well-rounded characters, a fun plot with very funny dialogues, with plenty of options for the player and a nice pace in the story.

From start to end, I had so much fun with the game and its characters. I still haven't seen all of the endings, but I'm pretty happy to have supported the game in patreon and steam.

I played only faithful Jaye route and I loved 99% of the story and ending.

Now the part I didn't like is at the end of chapter 8 when the doctors are being stupid and not certain if they did the dna test for Jaye correctly or not. In doing so the dev has made it seem it's a high chance they're half siblings and I'm not really into that. I have zero issues with step siblings but real is going too far. That being said I changed the dialog myself to one person saying Yes, I'm not stupid and another person saying good.

After playing this game fully with that small edit, I actually enjoyed the ending with Jaye. Having a wedding or getting preg I find to be a good ending because it means their relationship is just getting started. Just a romantic ending for me. This game defo falls into replay able game for me.

I don’t really post on here at all. I’m more of a lurker. But I figured for my first review, I’d talk about one of the games that actually motivated me to start working on my own AVN.


Chasing Sunsets is one of those rare titles where the phrase “I came for the porn, I stayed for the story” really sums it up. The characters are compelling, the relationships feel genuine, and the emotional growth they go through is the heart of the entire experience.


The amount of time, love, and effort that goes into making a game like this is tough to put into words. A lot of AVNs never make it to the finish line, so seeing this story come full circle is both satisfying and a little bittersweet. It’s been a hell of a journey.


I'm genuinely excited to see what Stone Fox creates next.

This is a 3 star for one reason and one reason only. It has a selfish Dev that is imposing their own personal fetish on the person partaking of their creation without any regard for the person partaking its personal fetish as well. What am I talking about you may ask? Well it is yet another Dev who thinks everyone loves a pre pubescent vagina appearance. Well surprise! I was born in the 60's and love a good bush. Especially since they came on girls old enough to enjoy the experience. For that one reason I docked those 2 points.

Aside from that it was a well written and moving story. It pulled on my emotions in places. There are not many stories on here that I can say the same thing about honestly. When I encounter one I usually happily hand out a 5 star. Shame the Dev cost themselves that one.

All the women in this look fantastic. I really would have enjoyed the inclusion of some thicc LI's or even some that were not exactly ugly either. But beggars can't be choosers. I already did a major dock over one fetish so I am not going to go there on this one. Oh and it would be sweet if there were some itty bitties tossed into these every once in a while as well. Because, well you know boobies come in all shapes and sizes and they are a terrible thing to waste. I am an ass man myself but I was taught to waste not not want not so never have I complained about boob size.

Thank God there were no surprise sausages found in this one. I hate that as well nad can gladly say that there were none here.

I do recommend this one for a play through. It is rather large to download but well worth it when played through.

Chasing Sunsets is a true gem of the AVN world and an experience that finds all the mature subject matter, rich emotional storytelling, and beauty of visuals all bound together into the narrative that touches the heart of the audience.

The writing is impressive since the very first pages. It is not that the story serves as some kind of backdrop to adult content, but rather adult content is the story itself. You are plunged into a character-defined dramatic narrative of tragedy and hope; family and romance; of resurrection and remedy and all presented with unexpected depth. Its characters are lively, have real personalities, motivation, and emotional character that change as time progresses. Each decision seems significant, and the character interactions are not crammed and awkward.

The game is in top notch as far as the eye goes. The renders are stunning, -cine-like lights, details of environment and realistic expressions. The details do not disappoint, and the models are unique and look stunning and real at the same time, instead of the generic appearance that most AVNs indulge in.

The adult scenes are well-paced, intimate, detailed yet not engrossing and penetrative. It is also enhanced by sound and music design, creating a very immersive atmosphere with little but noticeable touches on tone and ambiance.

This is more than an AVN, it is an emotionally mature and professional experience that does not constantly insult the time or the intelligence of the player. Chasing Sunsets was written and produced to be profound, stunning and storytelling with a point that is unforgettable.

Highly recommended. I can hardly wait where the journey will be taking to.

This is a very compelling story, specially when it comes to Jaye.
Mallory is a fairly good character too, sweet, caring and with her own demons that we can help her through, but still... Seeing the relationship develop between Jaye and the MC is what made this game for me, from some level of animosity(coming from a place of love of course) to openly admitting their love.
Great game.
It also packs top notch renders.

If i had to give it a negative is that every character besides Jaye and Mallory are afterthoughts, they can be endearing(and some are absolutely gorgeous... Bianca, Lisa) but they won't get much shine.
And their endings are just a quick "it didn't work out" for dumb reasons.

This is one of the very best AVNs, and it's over!
The story is very nice, the MC is endearing, and the girls are gorgeous. Jaiye is breathtakingly beautiful; she's one of the most beautiful girls in all of AVNs. Special mention for making the characters endearing by blending sexiness, seriousness, emotion, and humor. All of this is very well balanced and results in a great AVN that you absolutely must keep.
