Good news, I think I saw where they just dropped the children saving part and just made it for all ages. Got to protect everyone from themselves.

That slippery slope is rather slippery.
Extemely slippery, indeed.

The EU is voting to pass a Law that would essentially give anyone with hacking skills the ability to look into your chat messages and get away with it.
No, it isn't. As it currently goes, the blocking minority is more than reached for this particular point.

What doesn't mean that it doesn't worth acting, especially if you live in Estonia, Finland, Greece, Romania, or Slovenia, that are still undecided. But with 8 countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia) that will not vote in favor (when the vote will happen, what is not tomorrow), this part of the regulation will not be adopted.

Oh, and by the way, it's nice to discover that there's a threat... Five after the adoption of the , that some EU members now try to turn into a mandatory condition, since May 2022, through the . Since it's what ChatControl 2.0 actually is.

I'm not going to take your bait seriously. You are showing me more with your comment than you are letting anyone take a glance at.
Please leave. You don't like my music anyways.
He's right tho. Those countries are a under the even if all other countries go support the regulation.

"For now". We all know this is what our overlords desperately crave, so they will keep pushing this garbage until they get it.

I would like to state that this opinion is just hypothetical: that the majority of the supporting countries are politically unstable with the exeption of Denmark. It is not a surprise that they want to control what their population thinks. Bribery might be a factor as well.

It looks like, from what I have heard, the votes are won against this legislation; this isn't the time to roll the feet over the table. There's another law on the way that allows stakeholders/investors to demand their company to look into your conversations. Now it's clear that Germany is on to this law like a horny teenager, but my concern lies in whether this applies to German companies that are occupied outside the EU.

Heres the article:

Being on this page for long enough that it convinces me to think I'm a human rights advocate. The irony of it is that I'm not getting paid enough for this.

Chat Control is a counterproductive and authoritarian hellspawn. Sadly, I don’t see any straightforward way to fight it – it’s too complex to get enough mainstream sheeple to form a critical mass against it. Let’s hope the EU countries opposing it will be heard.

It looks like, from what I have heard, the votes are won against this legislation; [...]
  1. Your link regard an open consultation, and only show the origin of the submitted feedback;
  2. As your link show, the consultation was still running for 23 hours when you wrote your post (You wrote the 11 September at 1AM Brussels time, the consultation end the 12 September at 12AM Brussels time), what obviously imply that no vote have happened yet;
  3. Your link regard the "Data retention by service providers for criminal proceedings" proposal, while what you talk about is the "Regulations aimed at preventing and combating sexual abuse of minors".

Today, EU members are giving their final decision regarding Chat Control 2.0. If the blocking minority is not reached, the proposal will be submitted to the Parliament for a vote the 14 October.

And, as expected, the proposal have been rejected, again; "again" because the proposal , and it's not the first time that it have been submitted.

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia , as previously announced, reaching the blocking minority.

looks like chat control is now a secondary concern for UK and other countries as they prepare to roll out ID cards.

All UK Adults to Be Forced to Use Digital ID Under New Government Laws

Keir Starmer is preparing to roll out mandatory digital ID cards for every adult in the UK. Starmer is expected to announce as soon as Friday that he will back the so-called “Brit Card". . .

Unfortunately for UK citizens, Labour holds a large majority in Parliament, and the next elections are a long way off, meaning Starmer’s leftist government can force through policies without challenge.
Government can just impose grand dystopian foot-in-the-doors just like that, always under the guise of a greater good as usual.

What a surprise...

Could this mean that all the news saying that UK voted to leave the EU mid 2016, then actually leaved it early 2020, where true?

we have our hands full with the war against russia.
including russia hacker/fake news/war propaganda and online trolls

also islamist/immigrants"refugees" from afghanistan/syria/iraq
and guess who bombed these countries into ruins.. and then run away like pusys

you americans
should be more worried about what MAGA trump is planning

as a german i know a dictador when i see one.. we have our experience
P.S. The EU was created by the representatives of the people (US) who then were in power to ensure that no authoritarian regime would rise out of the ground after what happened in World War II.
they forgot to ensure the same for the US.. hitler promised to make germany great again

Well, he didn't accomplish it, as there are not many people like him.
well he managed to conquer france/italy and east europe and almost russia
from a military aspect the 3. reich was the greatest germany has ever been
he also gave germany the world record... in killing and fascism/racism

trump and putin/xi have potential but they still have a long way to go
but the 12 thousand nukes should be enough for a new record...

It appears to show that this bill, does shake the table of high officials of Denmark.
