It's not terrible, but is dragged down by mediocre writing. The author has the wherewithal to recognize a played-out premise, and seems to be trying to find a novel perspective, but he ends up substituting cliches for other equally tired cliches.
I appreciate that English is the dev's second language, but for a game as narrative-driven and text-heavy as this one, he ought to have a friend comb over the English text and improve the prose, liven it up a bit.
The dev also should've put some effort into reducing the game's file size, the bloat comes across as very sloppy.
