Ren'Py - Come Home [v9.19.16 Premium] [R.J. Rhodes]

Amazing renders, amazing story, I can not wait till the next update comes out. The only thing That I can point out that might not be to everyone's style is that the grind to completion is a bit tedious, but you are always rewarded with a sex scene for each step of the way. The characters too are very grounded and realistic, and every person is optional so you can remove them if you don't want to see them, you can also turn off only the voice lines of the characters as well if you don't like the actor that voices them. This does swing done right as well no one is owned by anyone and the only NTR content is when you are the Bull (The guy that fucks the wife) I can not wait till more content comes out, and it is fleshed out. The only reason I am not giving this 5/5 is that it is not finished, when it is it will probably earn it.

I need more games like this. I know a lot of people aren't into trans girls. In this you aren't forced to do anything, but I LOOOVE Adrien! That story arch is perfect. That's not usually my thing but, she became my main focus.

I was pleasantly surprised to find voice acting in this one when it wasn't in the tags. I generally reserve 1 star exclusively for it, or at least half a star. If the game doesn't have it, 5 stars is not possible in my view.

The characters are varied and their stories draw you in each in their own way emotionally. Everyone has their favorite =). There are many characters by the way. I appreciated the ability to turn off any characters you don't want (in my case: the gay, the trans, and the old hag dominatrix). Other devs can learn a thing or two here.

I will say that the renders seem a bit outdated, but the story and the voice acting more than makes up for it. If many unique characters with great individual stories and the ability to turn off any you don't want sounds good to you, give this game a try.

I love this game.
Rather than being a single story, it's really a collection of stories about the characters. There is an overall story about finding the MC's missing father, but that is really secondary.
Getting to know and romance each of the characters is what makes this game great. There is tremendous variation between the characters - each having different looks and personalities and captivating stories.

The writing is fantastic - funny and touching. (Brandi's stream chat in particular is hilarious brilliance.)

The sex scenes are also very good, with plenty of variation.

The game up to update 19 is all about the MC going back home, reconnecting with his missing father's wife and daughter that his father had married not too long before the MC went to Brazil for college.
He goes back to college and meets and gets to romance a variety of people.
It's a sandbox, but only in a loose sense. There is no map or exploring around and needing to be in the right place at the right time to find something or get an encounter.
On the main in-game screen there are polariod-style photos of each of the people and if they have a pink highlight then there is something new to explore with them. If their picture is only white then you have seen all their scenes at that point.
So you just click on the pink highlighted pictures to progress the story of that person.
You can then also go into the profile for the love interests to see what is yet to be seen and also replay scenes.

Update 19 is where the MC travels to another dimension/world to try to find his father, and RJ (the dev) decided to illustrate how different that place is by making it a fantasy setting - magic and creatures and dragons.
That then involves a dungeon crawl where the MC and his companions go through a dungeon, room by room, to get to the castle for the main scene.
Those rooms have combat, which I enjoyed. But the combat can be entirely skipped. So you can just go through the dungeon, skipping each combat, in a short amount if time.

At the end up update 19 the MC comes back to his normal world.
So this fantasy setting with the dungeon crawl is just the one small part of the game and then we are back to the game that we are used to and know.

RJ knew update 19 was going to be divisive but she wanted to do something different for that part of the game to really illustrate traveling to a different dimension and world.
I give her lots of credit for taking that risk and sticking to her vision of the game.


Overall this is an easy 5 star rating for me:
Varied, interesting characters with well fleshed out stories that get you to really care for them.
Funny and touching moments.
Good sex scenes.

Some good, some bad... this has average graphics, some annoying voices and it's quite grindy.
It's a bit of mindless fuckfest, you screw every girl(and a couple of guys, if that's your thing) in town and when they find out about each other... they are happy to have a threesome, just like that.
It goes for every target demographic under the sun, the women fulfil various age ranges, it features many non conventionally appealing ladies, including a disabled woman, a guy, a trans person, dom or sub with an old lady... you want anything, this game has an option.
Also includes the more traditional childhood friend, roomate and milf.
You can pick what you want to do, nothing is forced.

The main story is basically forgotten while you go around dating the girls(and guy), it's not a great story imo.

And the dumbest decision ever... it turns into a fantasy dungeon crawler to end the game, not joking here, it really does.
Still not over this shit.

One of the best adult games that I have come across, The MC and Characters are all good looking. Although there are few M/M and M/T interactions I think its good, I played Top all the way *laughs. Hopefully we get to see more games like this (with more M/M romanceable and even M/T romanceable) I'm a dude that loves all can't fault me!

the game is superv nice graffics for me tis takes 6/5 its the best game i palyed sofar.... has sound olso and a nice script.. its not stuck like others or you nead a walkthrouth to play and have many suprses like lesbian shemale gay trio or foursome

I purchased this game on steam and played every update as soon as it comes out and I have to say the best part about this game is the inclusivity. As well as the ability to pursue LI that are to the players preference and the ability to toggle off the ones that you as a player are not interested in.

Other than that I would say this game is a mess. The story starts off the MC comes home because his dad went missing and we don't have any sort of progress towards this like at all until 17 chapters later. So that story doesn't really progress and then in chapter 19 the whole interface and gameplay changes completely. Which is odd since chapter 20 is set to be the final story chapter. Its not like I don't like what happened in chapter 19 in fact I think its very interesting and could have been a completely different game in and of itself. But as a part of this game it felt strange because chapter 19 has its own full complete story including hidden diary entries about the backstory of the main villain and everything. Its just a weird choice to add that at the end of the game that made horrible story progression through out until the end.

The spicy parts of this game are not the greatest, the models are okay and there are plenty so I am sure there is one you will enjoy. The dating sim part of the game isn't really enthralling. I didn't find myself actually caring about the background stories since there are so many. I would imagine this is going to have multiple endings but we shall see what happens after the most recent update I really don't know what to expect. Maybe the final chapter will be a space opera or a western shoot out between all the LIs to see which one will get the be with the MC in the end. Or who knows probably just a giant orgy.

Also I wanted to post this review here instead of Steam so it doesn't mess with the rating or effect the income of the dev.

This is a five-star game for the sum of its total parts. It doesn't have a unique or enthralling story, the girls aren't the hottest you'll find in a game on this site, the animations are nearly non-existent, but what this game does is exemplify player choice. There are tons of love interests and here's the crazy crazy thing, you can accept or reject any of them, there is no canon love interest, you can do whatever you want, and that makes this game rise above a lot of others for me, I hate when "harem" games keep adding girls to the stable if you don't want them there.

It's a solid game, and I think it earns a 5-star review for the player choice alone.

The writing is childish for the lack of a better word. Character cast is an inclusive diversity hell paradise:
They think in simple concepts and express their emotions in caricature manner and their personalities are basically stereotypes. Events unfolding are so stupid at times, it feels like a parody. Author tries to pull off some drama, but it does not feel impactful.
⠀⠀⠀Scoring girl's affection/progressing their paths involves boring and repetitive Q&A sessions where MC asks them basic questions like: "do you have a pet?", "what's your favorite movie?" or "what kind of music do you like?". There is more than a dozen of these questions for EVERY character! After the second one of those the boredom was already insufferable. Most girls undergo unnatural attraction towards MC, but to keep it lowkey they often have some hindering circumstance like "but muh job", "but muh lifestyle" or "muh family" and so on. Conveniently none of them have any issues with MC dating/seeing multiple women simultaneously.
⠀⠀⠀In the sandbox 'system' (which is just a set number of available events allocated to a time slot) there are two types of events: those that are marked as seen (which you can repeat infinitely) and those that are "New". The issue is those "New" events are usually just a single sex pose or yet another random question about food or pop culture that nobody fucking cares about.
⠀⠀⠀Central plot is laughable, not that anybody gives a fuck about it in the first place. Like traveling to parallel universes through hula hoops with meth and diamonds? Seriously? And our MC wants to find his father just as urgently as FO 4's protagonist their son, which the author even acknowledges himself in the intro.

• Music is super generic royalty-free stuff. The TTS-like voice-overs are instant turn off (though it's bugged and they're still present occasionally)
• Graphics are a mix of IRL photos and mediocre Daz3D renders. Character models are below average looking, some are slightly edited asses flips. Overall VN looks very dated.
• Sex scenes are usually one, maybe two poses with okay animations and no sound effects. Also dev likes to set-up sex scenes and then blueball their audience, which, if you're not into CBT, you might not appreciate.

This isn't a coal, but definitely not a gem either - a cocktail of boring script, watered down characters and unappealing visuals. Lots of sex tho. Very overhyped VN/dating sim, no clue why would so many people rate this 5/5.

I like it,a lot because of the different women, most of them are beautiful, and the bodies are natural. Not always the same bodies like in other games. I like that you can choose how to move forward with the girls and in the game. The overview of the game is easy to understand, there is no managing of the money or hard grindinng threw other stuff. Every girl has here own characters, kinks, problems, story and preferences, so that is not getting any boring. Hope to see more in the future. I also like it that the dev marks scenes when you maybe will miss a storypart oder some scenes if you like to choose and see it too. I will not spoiler the end but I would say after that start with a new game /chapter and new story like "Come Home 2" 5 of 5 Stars

5 stars might seem a lot for a game with outdated visuals, but hear me out: this os the first game (maybe along solvalley school) that knows what's up. The developer understands what a sandbox should be and delivers it near perfection, in terms of flow, grinding and story progression. Not only that, but he tries to explore a LOT of kinks (maybe not all fleshed out, but that's the usual problem of overextending), by also presenting complete characters. And, imho, the best part is that those characters are next door girls, and not supermodels. A couple of minor issues: Characters are progressing via a series of questions that feel detached and more like an interview or a CV builder, there's not really any consequence for any given reply to them, and in addition perversion or corruption feel kind of rushed and definitely not smooth.
I wont make any spoilers, but the plot is a bit irrelevant, and far fetched, but it somehow serves its purpose. If you are in for the plot, sorry, but you ll probably stay for the hot and steamy content which is a LOT and varied.
Bonus points for decent animations and extra points for the very realistic granny!
Again, 5 stars might seem excessive,but given the shortage of good sandbox games, this feels reasonable to me.

I like this game but, the english, the expressions, the argument, sometimes is plain. Its the kind of game i would have like to play when i was 15 to improve my english skills. In conclusion, the content, models, renders are good and in general its a good game with plenty of content. The weakness: grammar. Not bad, but simple. 6/10

PD: I find quite atractive and ejoyable how is and how is the development of Brandi and Lisa.

Honestly, this is how sandbox games should be made. This is just fantastic. There is no stat grind, there is no clunky map navigations, it's just events of your choice, one after another, in any progression order you desire. I can't stress enough how refreshing this feels.

As for the sex part... well... let's put it this way, I enjoyed most of it, and you are free to refuse any quirky stuff you don't like, which is amazing. There is also a great variety of body types, which I also appreciate greatly. But you can clearly see which girls are author's favourites and which renders are a bit on the... older side. That said, I don't think it takes away from the overall experience, and the game is simply exemplary.

If there's one thing missing from this game - it's telling the girls to shave. But hey, no game is perfect.

A great game with plenty of intimate scenes involving various characters. Some characters look overly artificial, but that's a matter of taste. Everyone will find their favorite. There's a lot of free content on Steam. I purchased the premium version to support the developer.

I've followed this game for years. I remember thinking how confusing it was to follow up the Harem by trial and Error and following up on all the menu for scene completed and what not and thought. Holy shit this is complicated! what happened!

Long time passes, I start over a new game and not how much more content there is. Lot of good scenes with animations and well made stories for all character. If you're looking for NTR to Threesome, orgies, MMF, FFM, MMMF etc., Trans content, trans with other character. Gay content. Etc... this one fills all the needs. If you're super open minded this game will make you more than happy.
NB: all LGBT content is avoidable.

Now THIS is how you implement a sandbox without it feeling repetitive or boring, I think this is because instead of navigating a boring map you're selecting what to do next amongst the events that are presented to you. You can still repeat some events if you want but you can clearly see what will make the story and the relationships progress and what won't. And you don't go anywhere yourself to e.g. sleep because every event puts you in the right place and advances time automatically. Now why oh why can't other developers take notice and actually implement something worth playing, uh?

The render with the MC and Adrian in the classroom is my favourite; it reminds me of a typical scene in the RPGs of old, with two best buddies drinking ale in an inn, ready to recruit more people for their merry band, or just scheming or sharing secrets. The models are realistic, with no overbearing racks or anything like that. The fact that they all look like normal, everyday people is a great plus for me; seeing a collection of top models in every adult game becomes boring.

When going on a date with someone sometimes you can decide the look of your partner(s) among two choices. This tends to create continuity problems if you select the alternate look, because the default look is usually restored as soon as you're back and get out of the car to say your goodbyes, or in the middle of the date as is the case with Mi-Cha at some point. On the other hand, the game comes with a built-in walkthrough that warns you in a very nice way if the choice you're selecting is going to terminate the romance path with a given character or have any other significant impact on the storyline. A very nice touch.

The story is OK, no complaints from me. The animations are fluid but vary in quality; they are good as average but some look odd, like the 69 with Adrian where she's sometimes floating over the bed, or the second date with Gertrude at the motel with her left leg looking messed up as she cums while going down on her. Also, the MC's cock looks shiny sometimes like he's using a condom.

Anyway, as an anti-sandbox person I can't but congratulate the developer team for one of the extremely rare ones that are actually enjoyable and don't make the player waste their time with millions of mouse clicks to advance the story at a snail pace.

PS. Forgot to mention the streams with Brandi are *epic*. The guy in the chat asking for feet makes me laugh every time

PPS. On my playthrough Kendra called the MC to invite him to waterskiing the same day she suggested the idea because apparently the requirement to trigger the actual event was already fulfilled, even when she said that she would take some time (implying a minimum of 24 hours) to contact him about it. Not sure if this is a bug but it would seem so; it felt strange to me.

This is a poor game. I was mislead by a lot of reviews that I now dont trust to be real at all.

The renders and models in the game are all poor and all but 1 have masculine traits like short hair, I'm not sure why that decision was made. Despite the bad LI's reviews said you can just focus one whichever ones you wanted so I figured I'd try

There's a lot of reviews mentioning sandbox - there is no sandbox. Every time period gives you a fixed menu of options in the form of polaroid images. Typically this involves talking to a girl to ask them a single question.

The writing is ok, one of the games stronger points, but it's easy to overlook that because of the poor playstyle.

Focusing on one girl (suzy) is impossible, theres been one scene change in 60 days of in game play, otherwise you see the same scene every day with nothing new and no dialogue options remaining even if you progress the rest of the creepy game characters

One of the best VN's out there. Many characters romance options, many kinks, relationship progress is really good, the gameplay is easy and fun to play. The only reason this game don't become a biggest BOOM is because the models. The models are a bit too, don't know how to explain it, but looks like just manequins, don't get the "realistic" vibe like the models of the big mainstream VN's out there.

Come Home is a great game with a lovely story progression. I don't care that much about the father, but the personal story of each character is very good.
A five starts, no doubts!

I have a strange relationship with this game. On the one hand, it doesn't really work me up. There is a lot of content and fetishes, but I think that many things do not quite touch what I'm looking for. I guess that's okay, we're all different. On the other hand, this game is very humane. The writing may be not my cup of tea, but it is competent and, obviously, quite personal. I also appreciate how this 'sandbox' game managed to bypass the common flaws of RenPy Sandbox AVNs (I think you all know what I'm talking about).

I won't be checking the newer versions, because it has a certain vibe which is not for me, but I have the utmost respect of the developer, whoever it may be. Strongly recommend to check this game out to everyone who likes sandbox AVNs, not-overly ridiculous harems and good melodramatic writing.
