I like it.

Art's good. Novel nonhuman mods on render software that isn't just shitty cat ears.

Writing is very enjoyable. Scenario is novel, narrative is engrossing, characters are enjoyable. Gonna be pissed and dock stars if the dev kills off the support cast though; they're muh favorite.

Porn's fine. None of the preg I was promised but I remain hopeful.

Gameplay is fine. Not a fan of the Hobson choices that lead to obnoxious gameovers, but linear narrative gonna linear. I also feel that the blood is a) over-relyed on, b) comes across as juvenile on occasion, and c) not the most convincing visual. I strongly dislike gore and violence in my porn though so it's likely I'm just hypersensitive to it.

All in all very worth checking.

This game shines in so many ways. The animations and character models are great, each character has their own distinct personality and the world is decently fleshed out. The biggest problem is that this guy needs an editor. There are so many grammar and spelling mistakes and poorly worded sentences that it can bring you out of the moment. Here's hoping that he can rewrite them and I can't wait for the pregnancy scenes!

Honestly surprised its taken me this long to discover this game, playing a game this good thats this far into development is a rare treat.
This shit absolutely slaps guys im telling you. The plot is nicely coherent and fun despite ever changing stakes and settings, also well developed characters that are distinct and feel unique.
The premise and story itself i find to be fresh and fascinating, as well as the intrigue with inter-personal relationships and the MC's backstory. It really drew me in quick.
Character decisions and motivations make sense logically which is always great, not to mention absolutely fantastic worldbuilding.
Great renders and animations all around. The erotic content is also VERY hot but can be rare and brief at times. For those like me that play VNs mostly for the story this is a great one to pick up.
Dev has done great work so far and im super excited to see where they take it next.

At first I was just randomly looking for any kind of game that looked somewhat interesting, so I probably downloaded quite a few including this one. Other than the fact that this one was a bigger download than the other games and it had a few interesting tags, I didn't really pay attention to it or play it. I played some other games which most were just meh and downright boring. Then eventually I saw this game in my downloads and said, "Hey lets try this one and see what its about."

The main menu looked promising so was somewhat interested in the game, by this time when I started playing this I already forgot what the game is about or the reason why I downloaded it. So I started it and everything seemed okay so far, not most original of beginnings but certainly interesting. And it got better and better. And I was hooked.

I do like Noel, and I do like her story, origins. Obviously some might say she is plain and simple but I do like her. All the characters are interesting in some way, some way more interesting than others, some good humor here and there, very few had background stories but not really necessary but would be interesting to know more especially regarding certain Dark ones/primordials(Maybe in futures chapters?) and certain characters. The animations is honestly not good, specifically the naughty scenes which are very basic and not really interesting. The animations in the fight scenes or in general are good just not the h-scenes.


Its not the best h-game in the world, definitely does not have good h-animations, there are very few grammar mistakes or missing words.
It does have an interesting story and it does get better and more interesting, it does stay relevant throughout.

I definitely would recommend the game for its story and for the love interests/characters. But its not a game for a quick fap or for its h-animations. But it is one of the few games I would be willing to pay/buy. So I am happy that I picked up this gem while randomly downloading games.

My favourite Dark one is probably Noel for now. For normal characters its probably Amy and Emma(Heh, normal).

Review for Ch. 8

I really tried to like it, and made it all the way until the end of the current release. It started really strong, with a unique story and interesting premise but quickly got weaker after the mc From there on, the writing is sadly the big weak point, there are many avoidable grammar and spelling mistakes, the Classes of the Dark Ones read like something written by a 7 year old (basicly noone you meet is under a B rank, and by chapter 3 the main antagonist is SSS - whats the reason for having an F-S ranking system if you make B-SSS out of it?).

Most of the characters are 50/50, interesting but not fleshed out, or plain bland. Again, the worldbuilding and underlying concept is good, just the actual implementation is very lackluster.

I honestly like the concept of the game, i like the idea. Its interesting, the world and storytelling is somewhat thought out, but the writing and the characters + models are just not quite there. I dont think it needs a rework, but certainly most chapters and areas need a rewrite and need to be better thought out. There is potential, but i feel like the autor is very young and certainly unexperienced. For now i sadly cant rate it higher than 3/5

Unique story with a bunch of interesting characters, I'm giddy at every new update. Solid amount of content, that keeps being updated. The renders are some of the best on this site, and the music fits the atmosphere of the game super well

Definitely recommended. The story is top tier - be warned, this is not your typical fap avn, this game has a Story! If you love sci-fi, you you love fantasy, you should definitely play this game.
Strong points are the storytelling and its characters. The girls are all lovable, there is humor and it's on point.
I repeat, don't think in term of tags and fappable stuff, this game will blow you away if you let yourself be carried by the atmosphere and the characters. Just play the game and let yourself be embraced by the sweetness of Noel, by her tsundere sister, and the other characters. You won't regret it!

Must recommended VN. The game has top-tier anime like story with action lmao didn't expected to see something like this in AVN. What I like most in this AVN is that Li's and side characters are also super strong.
It may fall a bit on sex animation department but the story and build-up fills up for it.

The bad:

This is my review for Companion of Darkness [Ch. 8].

The good stuff

• The story is well written, I was instantly invested in it and it continued to be consistent. The characters are well developed in general, the humor is top notch and the more dramatic moments are treated with respect and seriousness.
• The renders are decent, the fighting animations are really good.
• The music and sound effects are well implemented and add value to the scenes.
• The pace of the story and action is good, not many "dead" moments and fillers.
• The premise is interesting, I personally didn't play any other game or VN with this theme.
• Updates are good sized and very fast. I hope it continues like this.

The bad

• I found myself kinda skipping through the sex scenes, the dialogue wasn't bad, the animations were a bit "dated" but I think I mostly fast fowarded because I wanted to see what happens next in the story.

I will still give it a 5 star rating, even though it could do with better sex scenes (it is a porn VN after all)

Great story with marvelous pacing, pretty much no "fillers", and a lot of content! Loved it!
The only (negligible) downside of this game is H content, which seems to be mostly stock HS, but since the main focus of this game is story - I have no complains.

I recently stumbled upon this particular piece of content, and what really draws me in is the story it tells. That's why I find myself liking it so much. Needless to say, I'm eagerly anticipating the next update or installment.

It was entertaining enough to get me playing until the end and there's a lot of content for it, hence the 4-stars.

However, it was kind of a frustrating experience at first. All the characters are so overwhelmingly strong that MC can only survive thanks to plot armour and instead of gaining strength, he just kept getting weaker instead, meeting a lot of setbacks. Luckily, the pacing of the plot was enough to get me going, but it failed miserably at delivering any kind of satisfaction.

Luckily, it picks up in the later chapters. After losing literally all of his strength, there's an important reveal which hints at the MC's full potential.

In summary, the plot is engaging and there's a lot of potential for more, but it needs to focus more on the protagonist and deliver on the payoff, which is there little of right now.

Ahh, brings me back to a nostalgic time when I loved reading and writing indulgent stories like this.

Premises and lore draws you in almost immediately, and well thought out. There's a clear direction and idea of where and how the story is going. Credit to the writer definitely.

NSFW scenes are always yes or no, and while the choices matter, they don't create multiple branches that locks you out in the future, which you can't say the same about every other game here, so that's a big plus.

However, the engine used is unfortunately one of the oldest. Though I assume that's for the ease of animation, it kinda takes away from the "cinematics".

Direction of the action scenes are surprisingly good, even on a old engine, same as above, ideas well thought out, but the quality is abit lacking.

One of those games where you can probably remove the lewd scenes and sell it as a VN and still be very successful. The actual 'kink' factor isn't that high. Sex scenes could almost be considered boring, though the characters actually look quite good despite using old program.

All in all, it's really only limited by the renders, 9.5/10 as an fantasy-action VN. but probably only a 6.5 or 7 as a lewd game.

Still, looking forward to more content as the story is honestly quite addicting, would probably be an amazing remaster using one of the newer engines/program for renders. (Though it would suck to slow down the production of the story)

I recently found this one. I think the story is why I like this one so much. I also like that you do not have just jumbo titties and have made a great selections of body types and styles. I look forward to the next update.

Very enjoyable game

The story kept me interested throughout - The pace is decent (didn't feel too slow or rushed) and the models/scenes were good. Definitely worth a play through and I look forward to reading more of the story in the next update

edit - lol after looking through some of the other reviews, it seems this game is a bit of a love it or hate it. so I thought I should add more - To me the story was the one of the best i've seen in a lewd game, good character depth and fairly logical actions with a bit of comedy thrown in.

Wow. I came into this game not expecting a whole lot but to say I was pleasantly surprised would be the understatement of the year. This game is absolutely incredible and blew me away.

The story is literally out of this world. The dialogue and plot twists just make this a pleasure to read through and I can't applaud it enough.

The whole concept the story revolves around is unique and refreshing and really ramps up from 0 to 100 quickly and it feels like an adventure. The girls are interesting and feel like a part of the story rather than just H-Scenes.

I finished the game a little while ago and I'm still processing it but it's been a while since I enjoyed a VN so much. About halfway through the story, I was dreading reaching the end because there would be no more to read for a while. And that's about the highest compliment you can give.

This game focuses more of plot than plot and has a lot of information to read through. So if you're not into reading, this probably isn't for you. But if you are, this is a special game.

Companion of Darkness is a gem of a game. The story is gripping, it flows with logical, yet perhaps abrupt movements, it’s not afraid to make bold choices and warp characters that you’re fond of, even to the point of nearly removing them from the game. I have a lot to say about the story, but I’ll save the spoilers and note some of my favorite points:

Noel and MC’s relationship is actually top tier, up there with some good company in terms of top AVN relationships. The character arcs in this game are incredible, most characters that you meet in the first chapter go through incredible development of the course of the following chapters with almost no stone unturned. Some might find this off-putting as some of their favorite characters early might drastically change, but, in my eyes, it keeps the story really interesting and unpredictable.

I only have a few minor negatives:
No gallery up to this point, though I hear chapter 8 will introduce one, which is very good.
Animation work is fairly hit or miss. I personally don't mind it much, but I could see it being a bigger issue for those who put a lot of stock in that department.
Grammatic inconsistencies. Excusable to me, but I could imagine it would bother others.

I am very excited to see how the story goes from here and eagerly await the next update!

Although the plot may be abrupt, those details can be omitted due to the size and development of the game. Anyway, the girls and stories inside are quite interesting. Both the plot and the sexy content are very worth experiencing, and so far, the content behind Chapter 7 is worth looking forward to. Looking forward to future development, the author cheers.
