Ren'py has native support in Linux - I believe there are dedicated forum posts/wiki's dedicated to getting Ren'py running on various versions of Linux if there are minor issues. (Specifically getting windows 'versions' of ren'py VN's running on linux)

Unity support on Linux is fairly new I believe, but it does exist. The developer for the game in question has to be using a more up-to-date version of Unity and they have to specifically 'build' a linux version for you to run it. You won't be able to natively run windows Unity games in linux.

As for other games using various VN engines, the answer of compatibility for linux is mostly 'not really'.

I would suggest a duo boot system.
Just get another SSD or partition.
Why choose?
I have - Mint, Win 7 Ultra, and Win 10 Pro.
